5  Ankylosing Spondylitis I have experienced painful injections but when I made sure the shot was room temprature the pain went away. There are times when I take the injection and a burning pain shots down my leg, but goes away. I am very prone to sinus infections and colds. I have learned to always have hand sanitizer near me and never touch my face, especially during the flu and cold seasons. Cuts takes longer to hear and will become slightly infected easy, but once again it comes down to making sure I use neosporin and a bandaid. If I miss an injection, especially for a long period (if sick), I will feel tired and run-down when I take the first injection for a couple of days. The minor side effects are well worth the benefits. Like any medication, if comes down to the user taking the neccesary precautions. Of course, the major side effects are always a fear, but a person must be prepared for the smaller side-effects to combat the larger issues. Before I had was on Enbrel, my life was horrible. Couldn't move somedays, couldn't function, and to curb the pain I would take large amounts of asprin and aleve which ate up my stomach. Since going on Enbrel 4 years ago, I have lost sixty pounds, run three days a week, training for the Portland Marathon in nine months, have energy for my three kids and wife, and feel like I am alive again. The severity of the side effects, at least for now, are manageable. M 35 4 years
