3 | IBD | sever stomach pain, insomnia, joint pain in hip, gas, shaky in hands. | The stomach pain when away after the first day. The insomnia is terrible, I may have to change the dose or stop taking this medication. After the 3rd day I realized the Asacol must be causing these side effects. I had taken Asacol before about 2 years ago and did not experience any side effects it worked really well and I was able to eat. After about 8 months my Doctor took me off it and the IBD returned. I have great concerns about taking this medication, but without it I can't eat. I have lost 60 pounds, 50 pound in the first three months of this flare and then addition 10 over the last 3 weeks. I don't 60 pounds left to loose, at some point I am going to end up in real trouble. Monday I was in the ER thinking I needed fluids since I couldn't be keep ensure in my body. Thursday I started the Asacol I could eat food by Friday. I am between a rock and a hard place. | F | 48 | 4 days 1200 MG 3X D | 10/17/2010 | |
4 | IBD | Started medication but side effects so bad stopped taking and tried another form of med. It didn't work, went back to Asacol with half the dosage and added half a xanax with each dosage. Still have insomnia, but not as bad and shaking in hands is getting better, now sever headaches are constant. Doctor has me getting eyes checked just in case, the headaches are like migraines, only migraine medicine will help. | Asacol allows me to eat, but I am not sure the side effects are worth it, however without it I don't have many options. Between the Asacol, librex, effexor, prozac, aciphex, zocar and xanax I feel like I am a junkie. But it keeps me alive-if that is what this is. | F | 48 | 3 weeks 1200 MG 2X D | 11/18/2010 |
