| 5 | Epilepsy | Short term memory, weight loss, loss of appetite | Topamax was the best thing that could have ever happen to me. I had seizures for 41 years until I was put on this medication and for the past 3 years I have yet to seizure, so its been a pleasure to be on this medication. I am also on Lamictal and Keppra as well, but the only side affects I get from these meds is short term memory loss and loss of appetite. I lost 40 pounds from this med but it balances off once you’ve been on it for a period of time, so you just make sure you eat healthy. Being seizure free after 41 years, I think anyone who seizures that long who is now controlled would put up with some of the minor side affects, because all the seizures and its impacts to the brain, in most cases would have caused some brain damage anyway and affected your memory. Hey, having six years of college education, seizuring three times a week at work, been fired 6 times since 1990 because of it, it will be about time I can find a job where I can finally be controlled and not be judged by others.
