It has made my life a living hell. I have been on it for 8 months now and i will NEVER touch it again. I 1st took 30mg and no improvement. They then increased me dose to 50mg, then 75mg. I kept on telling my doctor that it doesnt work, its making me worse. They kept on saying it will work we just need to increase the dose. While I was on it i was a different person and i could not see the effect it was having on me i went insane. I was a suicidal angry mess. I was violent towards myself and my partner. I had no control over my emotions at all. I have just realised what it has done to me since stopping it. I now can sleep through a full night without waking up an emotional mess. I agreed to try that by immediately decided to never, ever take that pill again! I have sent her a note requesting to try a cream instead and that way I can better monitor how much I am getting. I don't even want to try that to be honest because now I am terrified of ever feeling like that again. I'm happy for the gals who don't get bad side-effects from this horrid drug but I am warning you other who are thinking of trying it....these posts are NOT overreactions! This stuff can REALLY mess you up in a bad way. I can tell when I need more because of the estrogen dominance symptoms, i.e. headaches, dizziness, aches and pains. I just take a little more of the progesterone and they go away. | If you are having problems with taking progesterone, make sure it is bio-identical and you are taking enough. Too little stimulates estrogen, hence the bad side effects. Used the 2% cream from the health store for 2 years (my husband called it "happy cream") to alleviate PMS symptoms of breast tenderness, anxiety, headache, bloating, mood swings. PROGESTERONE (PROGESTERONE): Progesterone is a type of female hormone (progestin). This medication is similar to the progesterone that your body naturally makes and is given to replace the hormone when your body is not making enough of it. In women who are not pregnant and not going through menopause, this medication is used to restore normal menstrual periods that have stopped for several months (amenorrhea). Progesterone is also used as part of combination hormone replacement therapy with estrogens to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes). Progesterone is added to estrogen replacement therapy to reduce the risk of cancer of the uterus. This medication is not for use in children. Progesterone must not be used to test for pregnancy.
