RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME ! | Started out on 75 mg once a night, I slept straight for the first four days of this drug, only waking up to go to the bathroom/take doxepin @ night, and change my sleeping position. After sleeping all that time i was finally able to get up during the day, but i had a huge lack of energy. I continued to take this drug and after 2 weeks i had put on 8 lbs, was very disappointed to find out that this is a common side-effect for doxepin because my Dr. (D.O) had assured me it wouldn't effect my weight. My third week was where i drew the line- I would take doxepin at 10pm with the knowledge that it would help me sleep, but 3 weeks into the medicine i noticed it not only made me wide awake, but it made me have TERRIBLE "restless leg syndrome" (RLS). It was so bad to the point where i would have to get out of bed and walk around consistently, which continued all throughout the night until around 6am. i decided to stop the drug immediately, cold turkey.
