Then I would get to visibly shaking and could barely use my phone. 2nd dose less nausea. Slightly dizzy at first. Not as bad as 1st dose. Laid down and could feel odd sensations moving in my body. Hotness moving up my left leg to my injured arm where it tingled (not bad or hurt just vibration) lasted a few seconds and stopped at the elbow and went back to warmth traveled to my right side down the arm (no tingling)...back up then down to my leg. Thought that was weird then it did the same thing several times. Laying there picturing in my mine a child's book about Louise Pasture and the rabies vaccine with tiny soldiers. So while this is going on over and over I was thinking about little soldiers patrolling my body and the tingling was where they were fighting ! | I have taken Augmentin before maybe not this high of a dose but never had any type of reaction. Also I rarely have side affects to any meds. I am only allergic to azithromycin. I broke out and felt like my skin was on fire! This was not like an allergic reaction. I have never seen anyone describe this or experienced anything of the sort. I searched and searched for similar reactions. Putting this out there so That Others who May have SIMILAR know it wasn't just them. I am wondering if recently having covid had something to do with it. I have taken Augmentin before and never an issue. On the first and second day of taking it, it made me feel very dizzy. The third day I completely lost my appetite, felt sick to my stomach the entire day. It made me feel very anxious and jittery, like I drank 20 cups of coffee; did not sleep well on it. I tried to take just half the pill this morning to see if that helped reduce side effects, did not work. I naturally get sick when I am on antibiotics (and narcotics) because I have Colitis so an already irritated GI tract, so I knew I was going to throw up once after the first dose as I usually do, but I did not expect the agony I was in. I took my first dose at the ER at 4:15pm, went back to work at 5 and at 6:45pm I threw up in the work bathroom and asked to leave early (my shift ends at 7). My 20 minute drive home took me over an hour because I had to pull over to throw up every 5 minutes. Then, when I got home, I was simultaneously pooping with extreme diarrhea (worse than what I'm used to) while vomiting into a trash can. This lasted for an hour straight with 5 minutes in between each bout of vomiting. I stopped pooping but continued to throw up every 10 minutes until 1 am when I could finally sleep, so it went on for nearly 7 hours. I called the ER and they switched me to a combo of Bactrim & Flagyl, both I have had before and have been fine. The doctor ended up adding Augmentin to my allergy list because my GI reaction was so bad. So, called my doctor and he called in straight up 500mg of amoxicillin. I am scared to take it. Going to wait a few days to see if things calm down. Did they change something with this drug?
