Now when I got MRSA in my right knee, they put me on vancomycin, with a PICC Line. Gave me a 50/50 survival rate.Had to take that crap 3x a day IV for 8 weeks. Worst medicine ever, but when you are dying it's worth the risk.. Augmentin for a prophylactic is a terrible choice, the vanco is way worse, but for a single pill, this has some serious problems the FDA needs to look at. I only took it for 4 days, Digestive problems, nervousness, depression and feeling of impending doom..Every dang night I would wake up between 2:30 and 3:00 am. No matter what I tried could not go back to sleep. This is day 5 and I am done, never again.. The back, muscle and stomach pain disappeared and I feel much better. Please, this medication is extremely strong, be aware of the side effects. Also it gave me a horrible yeast infection.
