| 5 | Periapical Cyst | I had zero side effects from this antibiotic. It was wonderful for me. I did take it exactly 12 hours apart twice a day and ate something with it as well even if small like a nutrigrain bar. I stayed hydrated as well. | I took this after a root canal for periapical cyst for any remaining infection. I feel like a new person and I would definitely take it again if needed. Switched to Augmentin which has cross reactivity with cefuroxime/Zinacef. After first dose, I had an attack which involved heavily cold sweeting. On day 3 I got oral thrush and extreme anal dryness leading to fissure. I was on break for two day from antibiotics due to these symptoms but was started again as otitis media symptoms came back. On day 4 of Augmentin, allergic arthritis symptoms came back and much severe. Pain in Knee joints, ankle joints, wrists and small hand joints. along with blurred vision, agitation.
