| 5 | Extremely severere case of bronchit | NONE. Previous treatment for bronchitis at a walk-in clinic was useless. I foolishly suffering through three weeks of hell because of my regular doctor's physician assistant's recommendation that I hang in there and give it more than a week. After three of the most horrific weeks of my life, during which I felt that the inside of my lungs had REPEATEDLY been scrubbed bloody with sandpaper, I called back and received a prescription for Augmentin 875 grams. The seemingly intractable, horrific bronchitis bacteria began dying and within 11 or 12 days was completely eradicated. My doctor explained that in addition to the Amoxillin, Augmentin included Clavulanic which protects Amoxillin. Clavulanic protects Amoxillin by acting as a "decoy" so that the bacterial enzymes that cause resistance to Amoxillin attack Clavulanic, rather than the penicillin family of drugs such as Amoxillin. | M | 65 | 10 days 875 2X day | 10/27/2010 | 5 | Tooth abscess | No noticeable side effects. | This medicine worked for me! The doctor was even suprised with the results. It will either ease or pretty much remove the loose stools problem that others report. As for the tiredness that other people report, I suspect its more related to being SICK. Your body is fighting something for god sake, its not meant to be a fun filled trip.
