The doctor told me that I may have waited to long to see him and that the infection might require additional treatment at a specialized clinic. Before we did this he wanted to at least try an antibiotic. He gave Augmentin 875 and after just 36 hours the redness and swelling was almost 100% clear. The doctor was even suprised with the results. Undecided if I would take this again on a 30 day regimen until I see how it works. I found blended fruits/smoothies (lots of apple) were the only food my body seemed to want. Good for you anyway so I can't complain.. I was the 2nd Person my doctor had seen this year, with this reaction. No idea if it had anything to do with fixing a 'blocked sinus'. I was given an injection to counter the Augmentin. While laying in the ER bed my legs began to tremor. They checked my hospital records and about a year ago I had been given the same drug for another sinus infection, but I can remember no real side effects at that time.
