| 3 | H pylori | First I was petrified to take the meds. I just wanted to get rid of this hpylori. I do have some itching and redness on my left inner thigh. Did not have the metallic taste everyone talked about. No nausea but severe diarrhea. Crazy dreams I did have. It's the only drug I can use. I'm allergic to all Penicillins and erithromiscins. I have had great results. For this medication it is best to take on a full stomach. If you have any issue with stomach pain take an OTC Zantac medication with it. The dose I take is 250MG 2 times a day for 10 days. Note you will not have a good outcome using this if you stop taking it before the full course. This med take 3-5 days to see results (its working but you may not notice lessening of symptoms over night). Also stoping this medication before the full course is done can cause you to get a drug resistant infection. Meaning that your infection will become use to the meds and they will not kill it. Also using some Greek yogurt a few times during the course helps with loss of good stomach bacteria. Hope this helps. | F | 47 | 10 days 500mg | 11/21/2016 | 1 | Strep throat | I was admitted to hospital with a suspected pons stroke because one side of my body went completely numb 3 days after I started taking this appalling drug. I had put up with all sorts of weird feelings as described by others as the strep throat was really bad but after 2 days of numbness and tingling I went to A&E. As expected they dismissed the idea of side effects (why are medics in total denial ?) and admitted me. So my baby and little girl have no mummy until I am out. On day # 5 I woke up with breathlessness. I've managed to sleep through the night though. Today (6th day), breathlessness has continued with me gasping for air with my mouth every 3-4 minutes. My resting heart rate has gone up from the 60s yesterday to 95-115 today. Last night I also started Medrol. It looks like Biaxin certainly kicked off the breathlessness and higher BPM and Medrol could be adding to it. Have another 4 days to go. Eagerly waiting to get off these meds and hopefully this breathlessness will go away. | From taking this for 6 days, its quite a strong drug. Messed up my sleeping really bad and caused vision problems for me. Dizziness, blurred vision, and I even passed out on the floor the previous day. Caused severe, sharp chest pains and made me feel generally unwell and even worse than when I began taking it. The metallic taste was so strong in my mouth that it nearly makes me vomit constantly. | It has worked admittedly, but I will still never take it again unless I'm deathly ill. Very strong medication that needs to be taken carefully and off the shelves, to be fair. Why read on...very important information following | WARNING: This drug DEPLETES POTASSIUM by 3 points each time you take fine if you take once but no more. I took 3 times without knowing this n my potassium bottomed out n had alot of heart issues. You do not wanna mess around with potassium. I'm still trying to bring levels up 7 months on n iv just dropped under range again due to Sun stroke. Iv literally been house bound n in torture making sure nothing interferes n I get fucking heat stroke which affects potassium from sitting on my balcony for one hr. The reason its gone on so long is coz it was missed on bloods which I now know can be easily falsely elevated as there is only a tiny amount in bloodstream rest is in cells. It's unbelievable. I was written off as psychological when I'd severe hypokalemia ...the first symptom of low potassium is leg cramps be warned people.
