1  diabetes Look at rating #6, how this drug every got approved for human use If anybody ever looked I'm sure they would find a trail of money from pharmacy company to someone in fda looking at ratings here sadly people think this is a new diet weight loss drug guess if you can't restrict your diet and don't mind getting cancer this drug is for you Come on people you have all the info online now please look before you leap pharmacy company's are spending millions to prompt you to try there new meds and making billions because you go to your doctor and ask for them! Do some research on avandia they had to pay a 3 billion dollar fine on that one because they didn't tell all they knew on it (they lied to get it approved) They should start there comericals with hey you might die from it but you'll look good in your coffin! 60 1 days

5  type 2 stomach issues , nausea and really sick stomach in the beginning. I have lost 37 pounds in 3 months, the side effects are almost gone and my body is adjusting well to this in combination with1000 mg Metformin daily also. I am taking 1.2 of the Victoza and my BS is great and my A1C has gone from 9.6 to 7.2 and I am thrilled. I just turned 60 and I feel like this is giving me a second chance. I knew that I was on the brinko of disaster and I am so thankful for this medicine. I know it is not going to be for everyone, but don't give up so quickly. It has changed my life and I can't wait to loose another 20 lbs and stay healthy. Thank you researchers and doctors for this medicine. On the flip side I did not think I was going to be able to do this but as I said the sick stomach and fatique has subsided. Stick it out and let this work for you too. F 60 2 months

5  Lower blood sugar When you first start there is some nausea. I did vomit a few times, but I guess that probably depends on your tolerance for nausea. That is the only bad effects I have. This drug has been wonderful. I started taking it because even on Metformin my A1c was 9.2, fastings in the high 200s. It was horrible, bad foot neuropathy etc. There is some nausea when you first start taking this and I had it fairly bad for the first month probably, but there are things I learned to decrease it. Smaller meals and I take the shot later in the day like a few hours after lunch. The worst nausea occurred when I took it right after a meal...Don't do that!!! It slows stomach emptying and if you take it right after your meal just sits there and causes issues. I am over 350 pounds and in 3 months I've lost 35 pounds effortlessly. My A1c went from 9.2 to 6.5 in the first three months. I have been huge my whole life. I have always felt like I was missing something that tells me when to stop eating....Victoza does that for me. Now I will have a meal and eating along as normal and something will just tell me its enough and I stop with no problem. I very rarely finish my plate now. I have a stop button now and I stay full longer. I no longer eat anything after dinner...no interest in it at all. I also do not crave carbs like I use to. Yes the side effects can be bad at first, but I can say with all honesty that now 4 months out and I do not have any side effects, but maybe rarely. If you are big and your sugars are out of wack the side effects are worth it. Just get through the first 2-4 weeks and be smart, don't stuff yourself especially at dinner. Als F 42 4 months

5  Diabetes Constipation, nausea I have used Victoza off and on for 3 years, but finally consistently the last 6 months. I had to stop all the other times because I felt so horrible with nausea, vomiting, etc. This time I decided to take it at bedtime instead of morning, and WOW big difference. I also started really low and only went up on the dose when I no longer had any side effects (other than constipation). I really can't take any more than five clicks beyond 1.2, so that's what I do. I have lost more than 50#, got off insulin, and dropped my A1c from 8.4 to 5.1. I wouldn't attribute it all to Victoza, because I have done the hard work, but it makes me feel full and that is a big help in reducing intake and managing my blood sugars. F 53 6 months

5  Diabetes None I'm a retired RN, I was on 200 u Novlin N every day and 100 u Novolog. I was started on Victoza @ 1.8 for about 6 mo. When my son said his Dr increased him to 3.0 and his A1c came down to 5.5. So I very carefully started to titrate up and watching my blood sugars. I'm now at 2.8 and less than 10 units Novlin n at bedtime. I also got my D3 level up to 50. Today my A1c is 6.9 down from 8.9 and I feel like a human, no depression or tired and sleeping all the time. I'm thrilled. 2 shots a day, not 6 and all my blood work was within normal limits F 70 9 months

5  Diabetes type 2 Had typical side effects of nausea and eggy burps for 1-2 weeks and they went away. Only experience nausea now if I overeat especially if high in carbs. It has given me great blood sugar control and my A1c numbers have been excellent since starting. It has been a wonder drug for me. F 44 1 years
