3  To manage my BS w/o so many needles Nausea, then uncontrollable vomiting. Lost 10 pounds in 3 days. Was never overweight. At almost 5'9" I weighed 160 lbs before Victoza. Loss of appetite. The little I did eat came back up in full force. Initially when I was first diagnosed with diabetes type 2 I was taking Glipizide. In 2010 I was put on insulin, both Levemir and Humalog. There was no problem except I got tired of sticking myself with needles and wanted to return to oral medication. That when I was prescribed Victoza and 750 mg of Metformin. I have to take 0.6 for a week, 1.2 the 2nd week and 1.8 the 3rd week and thereafter. I vomited a lot (and I mean a lot) but concluded that maybe it was because of the levothyroxine and avorstatin medication. When I stopped taking it, the vomiting stopped and I felt better. With all the negative hype about the side effects, I worry and don't really know if I will continue taking Victoza and Metformin. The best thing is that I only have to stick myself 2x daily no I had been taking Levothyroxine for underactive thyroid and Avorstatin for my cholesterol a long time and don't think Victoza should be taken with these medications F 73 3 days

5  Diabetes None I'm a retired RN, I was on 200 u Novlin N every day and 100 u Novolog. I was started on Victoza @ 1.8 for about 6 mo. When my son said his Dr increased him to 3.0 and his A1c came down to 5.5. So I very carefully started to titrate up and watching my blood sugars. I'm now at 2.8 and less than 10 units Novlin n at bedtime. I also got my D3 level up to 50. Today my A1c is 6.9 down from 8.9 and I feel like a human, no depression or tired and sleeping all the time. I'm thrilled. 2 shots a day, not 6 and all my blood work was within normal limits F 70 9 months

4  Better BG control. Weight loss Loss of appetite Finally a drug that helps. I have reduced my insulin from 50 of Lantus to 24. My NovoRapid by 50% I have lost 10 pounds and my blood sugar iss great and quite predictable. Makes a great change from chasing highs and lows. I had been on Byetta for 2 months prior but it did not help at all. F 69 1 months

4  weight management, pre-diabetes Have to manage nausea almost every day. No vomiting. Fatigue and much slower athletic performance -- swimming -- about ten seconds slower per hundred. My doctor has advised me to skip a day here and there to manage symptoms. Also to decrease dosage. I am now trying 1.2. I have lost about ten pounds. I am pleased that I have had some weight loss, so I am willing to suffer to lose more. F 69 6 weeks
