I started smoking pot and was doing it every week for the high, but had 1 manic attack after smoking 2 days in a row even on medication. However, despite all this I prefer Invega to Geodon, which made me really foggy. They gave me the option to choose between an antipsychotic tablet or this injection. I wanted neither and so they gave me a day to decide. I was just a child with too much energy who they couldn't control, disrupting the quiet in the hospital. This drug caused so many problems for me. I come back here now about a decade later to give hope to anyone else reading this that you can heal from the damage this caused. I remember reading forums and just praying for my death, as discovering how long it takes for this drug to leave the system left me feeling like I could not get through the suffering. I had akisthisia and anehdonia. I would wake up and cry that I woke up again. I could not feel any emotions and wanted to die. The restless feeling in my feet and body tortured me 24/7. This was one of the darkest times in my life. Stumbling accross this now is a reminder for me of how I got through something I didnt think I would. And you will too. Please dont give up. | On receiving drug testing for other reasons over 5 years after receiving this drug, I was told that invega sustenna showed up in the results. According to the half life the drug company states, this shouldn't even be possible. This drug causes harm. Please do not take it if you have the choice. I had a very controlled diet before the medication but experienced intense food cravings after the injections. It is now 17-12-19 and I am still experiencing food cravings but to a lesser degree, I cannot concentrate much, I still feel lethargic with little energy, feeling depressed and suicidal. I was not depressed or suicidal prior to the injection.
