5  Dysthymia/Anxiety/fibromyalgia First month: 10 lbs weight loss, decreased appetite, insomnia, anxiety, euphoria, stimulation, elation, increased sweating, hyperhidrosis. After one month: none except increaesed sweating. Really effective for treatment-resistant depression, dysthymia, social anxiety, panic disorder. I tried so many antidepressants and it was the first one that really worked beside Anafranil (tricyclic AD). Anafranil was the best one, but the sides effects were to intense for me. Pristiq help me to be more stable, more sociable, increase my energy and concentration cause I also have ADHD. A bonus is that it makes my muscle pain almost disappeared and I'm able to go to the gym 6 times per week. My life is worth living since I take prsitiq and after just 5 days at 100 mg, I was depression free and happy again. It does'nt affect my libido like SSRI's and Anafranil. So briefly, I have so much more motivation and pleasure. I also take Wellbutrin XL 300 mg, cytomel 15 mcg, Lamictal 200 mg, Adderall XR 40 mg and zopiclone for sleep. Finally, Pristiq is better than, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Celexa, Lexapro, Abilify, Luvox, Seroquel, Elavil, Trazodone, Seroquel, Latuda, but everybody is different. It works for me, and dont listen to people that say dont take it, and blame the drug for their bad decisions like forgetting to take it everyday at the same time and complaint about the withdrawal. If you are not responsible, blame everything but yourself, dont go for therapy and dont change your negative thinking or bad habits and behavior, you will never find happiness and peace. It might work for you, but like I said, it depend on your brain biochemistry. M 40 1 years

4  General anxiety disorder and adhd No significantly serious dude effects when compared to benefits, but for some reason I've developed some crazy amount of fatigue. Trying to stick to medication to see if it's something else first, as ok initially. Overall, the benefits have been remarkable and it was odd that despite expecting a long time to ramp up as advised I noticed difference with days, not weeks that was positive. M 51 3 months

3  Bipolar depression For a few weeks I had restless leg syndrome and slightly reduced appetite. It went away within a few weeks. I’ve been on about 15 medications and Pristiq has helped a bit. I’d say only Modafinil helped more. Still, it only has a marginal effect. I think I will be trying Nardil next. M 21 2 months

1  Anxiety, OCD, panic disorder Racing thoughts, racing heart, crying spells, hot flashes I'm not sure why my doctor prescribed this to me for anxiety when I have enough adrenaline/cortisol in my body. This medication made me feel horribly jittery and caused my anxiety to get worse. F 30 1 months

5  Anxiety/Mild Depression I've had a very interesting and unexpected side effect from taking Pristiq. Having taken Pristiq last year for several months and then going off due to co pay costs being so high at the time, I switched to Effexor (wasn't as helpful as Pristiq was for me) so recently, the cost of Prestiq went way down and I knew I wanted to switch back to it - I was positive if this was a side effect of Pristiq last year when I took the medication, but I feel very confidant saying I believe it was because when I stopped taking it I noticed it stopped, but when I started taking Prestiq again it came back ... I don't quite understand how or why, but I believe that not only does it help me, doesn't make me gain weight and has minimal to no negative side effects, the most interesting things I observed while taking Pristiq is that I have much longer and more intense oragasms with my husband. I feel funny sharing this, but it's 100% true! I've always had a good and healthy sex life with my husband, except I have taken medications in the past that I thought slowed my libido down a little so I stopped them - but not only does Prestiq not interfere with my sex drive, I really believe for some reason, some way, some how it absolutely has improved sexual satisfication and oragams. I truly wonder if this has effected of women in a similar way, because of so this could be the start to like a mild version of Viagra, but for women! How amazing would that be for all the women our there who feel they're sex d Love!!! Truly helpful! F 32 60 days

5  Depression Minor sweating first 3 nights, lower libido This is the best drug I've tried, and I've tried most SSRI's, Wellbutrin, and Trintillex. The feeling of 'dread' is much lower, and my head feels calmer. Virtually no side effects. There is a lower libido, but I've experienced that with all drugs, except for Wellbutrin, which was not very effective M 42 30 days

2  Prescribed by PCP for Panic Attacks I am an Analyst of Everything, but I could NOT do my job as a professional IT consultant and I had to prep for a job in less than two weeks. My MD weaned me off of Pristiq using a plan I developed. I believe Pristiq may be great if you are depressed. However, it should NOT be taken for Panic Attacks. It is much too strong! And that's my professional opinion. Contact Tom for more information - [email protected] M 68 11 days

5  Depression/Social anxiety/ADHD None Pristiq is a real miracle drug. The best so far. I tried all of them almost, including TCAs, SSRIs, Brintellix, Effexor XR, Cymbalta, Seroquel, Abilify. TCAs are more effective fore treatment resistant depression, but have a lot of side effects. SSRIs are useless for me, Effexor not bad, but weight gain and fatigue, Seroquel by far the worst. With Pristiq my depression and anxiety disappeared in less than 1 week. First 3 days I was on 50 mg, but thought that it was almost a placebo, because normally antidepressants have a lot of side effects so I increased to 100 MG and after 3 days, wow! I have so much more energy and motivation, more outgoing, more positive, way more productive, not lazy anymore. The only thing I'm not super happy with, is my libido is sky high, and I'm horny all the time. At least, my orgasms are more intense and more pleasurable. I lost a little bit of weight (10 pounds), but I feel more self confidant and more attractive. I have more motivation to go to the gym and stay in shape. I feel better than ever. Don't listen to the negative reviews that may stop you from feeling better and get out of the hole I was in for 10 years. M 38 2 months

3  Major Depressive Disorder dry mouth, constipation, serious migraine headache Am cutting down to 25 mg. PRISTIQ was great for depression. I slept very well and had lots of energy. However I developed a headache that lasted over a day and by day two turned into a migraine--needed a shot at the doctor's office for it. Also, severe constipation. I don't want to give up on it yet, so will try 25mg. I don't do well on SSRIs--so maybe I can tolerate a lower dose for now. The headaches are the worst side effect. F 51 12 days

3  Depression. Major depression former I would describe this drug as working very well for years but now I "flat lined." I could not feel and did not care. My new psychiatrist suggested I get off of this as it "flattens" people and makes them numb after a while. Sort of takes ones personality away. The withdrawal which was two weeks+ was horrible with brain zaps, insomnia for 20+ hours, extreme sensitivity, back aches, stomach pains. One wonders how they really feel....I now have energy, self esteem and more interest so far. Next, I am slowly coming off Wellbutrin. Please, always withdraw slowly from these under a Doctor's care.  1  Major Depressive Disorder Insomnia, Sleep Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Feelings of Anger/Rage, Fatigue and Weakness, Uncontrollable crying AVOID THIS DRUG!! At first I felt great on it for a few weeks.. And then I could not sleep.. not at all. I started having intense mood swings, and then the panic attacks started. This drug also intensified my anxiety to a level I felt I could never reach. Now I have sleep anxiety as well because I dread going to sleep as I'm afraid I'll be staring wide awake at my ceiling until 3am or 4am. Im seeing my doctor this week to get off it. You think I would be excited to end this nightmare... But I've read many articles that the withdrawal symptoms of Pristiq are the worst. F 31 4 months

4  depression Reduced libido When I am on this drug, I feel great, and occasionally I even skip a day, but if I skip more than a day, I spiral down almost immediately. This drug has worked wonders for me. I consider it much better than Paxil, which really zonked me out. M 69 6 years

5  Depression and anxiety I felt very nauseous for the first few days after taking it but have had no side affects since and have been taking for years. This drug enables me to function properly - I lost a small part of my creativity but before this drug could not concentrate or follow through with any plans. I am far more productive than I was before and it has also made me worry less about silly things and my relationships have improved as a result. I was lucky it worked well for me but all drugs don't work for everyone unfortunately. It's worth a go.. but switch to something else if it's not doing you any favours. F 28 3 years

4  Major Depressive Disorder First few days felt drowsy, dry mouth. immediate lessening of anxiety and improvement in mood and ability to control emotions. My body has a history of gradually requiring more dosage over years. Was on Effexor, Ciprimil before they didn't work anymore. I enjoy a good quality of life thanks to Pristiq. F 46 6 years

5  Clinical depression and anxiety Initially I had night sweats but once I got used to taking them I was fine. If I ever miss a dose I feel very weak and nauseous. Otherwise this is the best antidepressant I've ever been on and I'm doing better than I ever have. F 25 1 years

4  Server depression/anxiety Low libido, forgetfulness. Brain zaps, light headed and headaches, nausea, if I miss a dose. I started with 50mgs the Doctor put the dosage up once the symptoms eased to 100mgs. Each year on the effectiveness would wear off so up another 50mgs till I was on 200mgs. Spent the last year on 150mgs starting to wean off. Last month on 100mgs with feeling agitated, mood swings headaches & the last few days I have spent crying from emotional meltdowns. Didn't make it to work today. Had to talk to anyone about what I am trying to do when it makes me burst into tears. Not to mention keeping my depression secret from people outside a small amount of close family and friends. Wondering how I can get this done with out having to explain it to my daughter's (10 & 8) F 46 6 years
