I switched from Methylphenidate ER & Wow what a mistake.... The lamest part is that the Concerta was working tremendously well yet it wasn't a few weeks later. So I did some research and spoke with a few people and apparently the reason why it stopped working for me specifically was because I went to frys pharmacy and didnt know that the generic brand had to be a specific one for me. Due to the delivery system of the Mallinckrodt brand carried by frys and many other pharmacies was WHACK!!!! This is a big controversy with name brand and generic meds. The "OROS" Delivery system (a microscopic whole made by a lazer that slowly and properly releases the medication in order to avoid "Dose dumping") is what I needed instead I got the medication that is Delivered through the coating immediatley after ingesting which is 22% of the medication while the other 78% is delivered through the rest of your day. Nobody F**king tells you this so pay close attention if a medication is working for you and all of the sudden doesnt there could be a lot of factors that come into play. Anywho Vyvanse should be cause Novanse cause you should never take it. It sux !! | Die Vyvanse !!! Made me feel like a Zombie from the walking dead after Rick brutally mutilated them. This is only day five taking vyvanse. On 2/5 nights l was able to sleep, I noticed significant Improvement in controlling impulsivity and ability to focus. Last night (night four) no sleep at all even when a nap was attempted. Will continue for a 30 day period. Roughly 10 years ago was proscribed adderall and worked great for two years. After hundreds of hours of research found out methamphetamine was also used to treat severe ADHD. Became my own doctor and self maintained for over five years until I started using it to cope with a broken heart. Vyvanse being a pro drug having lowest abuse potential of stimulant amphetamine medications, my psychiatrist and I decided it was the best route to try. | Currently working on a major in psychology, vyvanse has been proven effective for over 70% people properly diagnosed. Without getting way into the biology and genetics medications will always affect people differently. And the LUNATICS that believe amphetamine medications destroy your brain must have, acquired their information from somebody like dr. Seuss or a BYU graduate or something. That's why I was recommended to take it now as an adult over other medications. The 1st year was perfect, started off at 30MG. Quickly increased to 40MG after. Now I'm stable at 50MG. I've had lots of ups and downs with this one. The mornings and early afternoons are fantastic with high motivation. I take it usually at 6am and around 2pm I always get the same bad side effects that was described above. Mostly I get really really impatient, panic attacks, and at that point I just isolate myself. I would only recomend taking this for a short period of time. It is very hard to take a break from it now because when I do I feel like I straight up have the worst flu. Withdrawal symptoms is miserable. All the info I could find said it decreases appetite, but that was not the case for me. At first I was more focused and motivated. I even started exercising again and getting stuff accomplished. After about a week my motivation started to wane and my weight was going up. At first I thought it was muscle gain. But then once I lost my motivation, I stopped exercising. Normally when this happens, after about a week my weight goes back down. Not this time. This time it kept creeping up. I went to refill it today and asked the pharmacist about it. I’m up 9 pounds in a month. He found some research that demonstrates that it can cause weight gain in the first month of use in specific demographics, one that I just happen to fit the mold to a T. I’ll keep trying it for a few more weeks and hope that it reverses after the initial month. Otherwise, I’m screwed! It is mixed hyperactive, impulsive, inattentive, but is predominantly inattentive. Throughout my life I have struggled and wasn’t aware the reasoning behind it. I struggled to concentrate and hold my attention on tasks. I would day dream for very extended periods of time. I became overwhelmed at school to the point I would have outbursts and hit my head against my desk and walls. During my adolescent years I became obsessed with girls, abused drugs and became involved in crime. This behaviour eventually lead to me being incarcerated for 12 months in juvenile detention. Shortly after I was released I developed a methamphetamine addiction. Methamphetamine calmed me down and gave me focus, it also gave me psychosis and homelessness at rock bottom. I beat this addiction. I was clean of all drugs for 4 years before I started attending uni. My concentration was not good. The only way I managed to sustain any focus was by exercising excessively every morning, fasting a minimum of 16 hours a day and having 6+ shots of coffee a day. I developed bad anxiety and wasn’t even doing exceptionally well at uni. I decided to investigate if I had an underlying mental health condition that could explain my lack of concentration, as well as the unsavoury events in my life. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD as I had every symptom to some degree and have struggled since I was 4. I have been prescribed Vyvanse. For the first time in my life I c | I was started on 30mg once per day. The effects last for about 10 hours then I go back to my normal state with out any increase in my ADHD symptoms. If my tolerance increases I would consider increasing the dose, but won’t do so unless it is necessary.
