5  since I was 8 or so about 10 years Ive been on it for so long and been through pretty much every mg from 20mg to 50mg. I've been able to focus well but my appatite has gone down but I'm okay with it. People say I need to eat others say I'm fine. But over all I'm pretty happy with it. F 18 10 years

5  ADD Fast speech. Racing thoughts. Loss of appetite. Extreme withdrawal side-effects. Life changing medication. Helped many focus issues and greatly improved depression (although was not prescribed for that). Withdrawal at 75mg was severe and began within 5 hours after the time i normally take it. 50mg withdrawal is not as bad but still incapacitating. M 25 8 years

1  ADHD I have been taking vyvanse since I was 6. I have always been having trouble focusing in class and now that I'm 14 I can no longer feel any hunger. There has been times where I haven't ate for almost a week and its all because I cant tell if I'm hungry while taking vyvanse. At night I cant sleep until almost 4 am. Ill have stomach pains and have horrible migraines. When I stand up I feel like I'm about to pass out. I have to immediately sit back down. I have had 2 concussions from passing out. From having concussions I have more memory problems and have trouble doing tasks. Do not take vyvanse. It makes me feel horrible and the side effects are not worth it. I feel like someone is constantly stabbing me with a knife in my stomach and have to force myself to eat. Im pretty sure its going to kill me one of these days. M 14 8 years

1  ADHD I HATE IT. I can never sleep at night. I have to force myself to eat otherwise I will end up with a horrible migraine and feeling like I'm about to pass out. I cant focus because of the constant stomach pains and causes me to fail my classes at school. I highly recommend staying away from vyvanse. The side effects are horrible and make life miserable.  5  ADHD . Loss of appetite , weird heartbeats at first. This drug is a life saver. I wouldn't be able to actually function without it. If I don't take it I'm so hyper & all over the place & it helps me level and mellow out. F 22 7 years

4  ADHD Dry mouth This has been the best medication for me so far and I have tried them all. I do not experience the drastic drop in productivity when the medication wears off. The "wear off" is more gradual than other meds. Some days I experience jaw clenching and on those days I also tend to have ocd symptoms . F 61 7 years

4  ADHD - Inattentive type Sweaty palms, hyper focus, talkative, lack of appetite, dehydration, extreme highs (giddy, elated feeling), and lows when coming off it, insomnia, diarrhea/upset stomach, anxiety, irritability While the drug is and has been extremely helpful (which is why I've relied on it for so long), I am starting to deal with some of the long term effects. The biggest issue is that I'm severely dehydrated, no matter how much water I drink - which had led to issues with low blood pressure. From about the time I wake up until the time I take my medication (around 11 am, so I'll have an appetite for lunch), I feel nauseous, dizzy, lightheaded and extremely irritable. I also experience extreme exhaustion (I once slept 24+ hours when I didn't take it) and overeating. I can also confirm other reviews of extreme highs and lows.. When I've taken it, I find myself getting really excited and spending hours focusing on one task, then at the end of the day feeling extremely depressed and wondering why the heck I wasted so much time on that one task all day). The side effects I experience while on the prescription don't seem so bad compared to those while off it, which is why I've been unable to stop taking it for so long (I take 1 each day, or else lose a day to sleep - not to mention the forgetfulness & distractibility that return each time). Unfortunately, I'm recently married and hoping to have kids so I'll have to deal with the consequences of trying to wean myself off of it. SUMMARY: great drug for immediate ADHD relief, but not a good long-term solution. F 26 7 years

5  ADHD Anxiety, I have been taking Vyvanse daily since Feb 2008. Switched to Adderall for a few weeks here an there, and maybe some days off (at most a week) but this stuff has pretty much been consistently in my system more than half a decade. In the early years of use, I experienced some anxiety, insomnia, loss of appetite/libido agitation etc ... I was concerned for my heart and potential neuro/cardiotoxicity. I used to gorge on junk food, skip sleep, etc ... So I figured, hey either I have to stop taking this, or use it but use it responsibly. It was heavenly, work became effortless, I could accomplish more in an hour that what I did all week ... so I chose option 2. I started working out, eating a healthy diet, taking anitoxidants. So far no problems; in fact all of the side effects have completely disappeared except for anxiety (for which I take phenibut) so even that's not a problem. I get blood tests and an EKG twice a year. Everything came back normal. If Vyvanse causes long-term damage, 6 years of daily use would be the acid test. But no, I feel healthier than years ago (see exercise/diet part) ... and my cognitive abilities have improved (partly because I take loads of nootropics daily) ... switched from Business major to Statistics/Mathematics, 3.8 GPA, etc ... No complaints in this dept. ... use as directed, eat well/rest/exercise and you shouldn't have a problem. Will I ever quit? Good question ..... M 22 6 years

3  ADHD.. Corrupt Doctor feeding pills I can't remember the last time i had a spontaneous, truly rock hard erection.. decreased ejaculation, dribbles out now, i used to be able to shoot across my room (no joke), My heart races and i get tightness in my chest, irritability, teeth grinding, HEART PROBLEMS.. Practically bi-polar when i'm coming down off the effects of the drug; I would go from happy to almost strangling someone to death instantly, like yelling in my moms face.. I noticed i've taken this drug the longest on this entire site, let me just say stay away from this s***. I've been addicted since my buddy in high school told me about a wonderful drug that will "make you want to do your homework, dude!".. I made an appointment immediately, I got "diagnosed" with ADHD. Started with Adderall XR, 30 mg and 10 mg blue pills.. i used to crush up and snort the blue pills for fun as a teen, it was like shitty coke if you did enough. But i was in love, I would clean my room, make my bed, even prepare my outfits for the whole week.. After so many years of being on it.. Like most addicting drugs, you start losing the effect, in this case it would be the ability to focus better, and an abundance of energy.. then you start REQUIRING the drug TO FUNCTION NORMALLY, you need it just to get out of bed in the morning.. No vyvanse? i guess i'm watching Netflix in bed all day. My doctor is a money-hungry corrupt sack of shit, I've seen him prescribe what looked like a 10 year old girl with my pill regimen, 30 mg adderall (60 mg vyvanse equivalence) insane!? stupid parents too! Don't put your kid on this shit! it's SPEED AKA AMPHETAMINES! HAD ME ADDICTED FOR ALL THESE YEARS. DO YOUR WANT YOUR CHILD ON SPEED?. Sure, i loved my days on it, i'm structured, annoyingly talkative, and wired like a mofo..I'm a hyper, irritable, nervous, talkitive person with hand tremors so bad you'd think i was having a seizure.. Patient History
2  ADD/"to stay awake" Uncomfortable heart rate increase (sometimes out of rhythm, goes away and comes back), increased social anxiety, blurry vision within a few hours of ingesting any more than 20mg, a light body-load that makes me feel slightly heavier, significant decrease in appetite, hard to sleep at night even when taking the medication early in the morning, memory loss especially short term. [[[ Prior to being prescribed Vyvanse in 2010 (Age 13), I had been on Fluoxetine since 2007 (Age 10). From 2010-2016 I was taking both medications every day, until I moved from my mother's house and quit cold turkey on both of them. I am diagnosed with ADD, depression, and aspbergers (mild autism), and I have high social anxiety. ]]] I was never an honor student and this medication didn't make me one. Before using this medication (only taking Fluoxetine), my typical day at Elementary School would consist of me goofing off in class, playing by myself at recess, and getting in trouble in the classroom. A few bad report cards later, my mother tried looking for a solution to my ADD (having me take different prescription amphetamines to find which one was "best"). I started seeing a psychiatrist once a month after that and I kept taking the meds I was prescribed everyday, even though they weren't helping and I didn't think to ask why... I was so dulled by the anti-depressant that I didn't care about anything, I just went with the flow. Taking Vyvanse made me tired at first (sleeping through most of my classes), then gave me a slow release of energy at the end (lasting passed 12hrs after taking the medicine, making it hard to sleep) with blurry vision throughout the day making it hard to read and eventually I had to get glasses because of the medicine....  2  ADD - increased anxiety (less movement through day = more anxiety) - Dry mouth - Irritability - Brain Fog - Increased Sweating - Pressure on Temples - Decreased Appetite - Increased need to pee - Easy Sensory Overload It is a very picky drug. If I keep moving for hours after I take it I will have little to no side effects. However, I cannot have a nice chill day without this drug causing havoc. I have reduced my dosage from 60MG to 10MG over a few years and these side effects are still present. M 23 6 years

1  ADHD At first it was amazing, considering I switched from a high dose of adderal, I had more of an appetite than on adderal and was able to more normal. Now a couple years in I've started experiencing Dry mouth, irritability, mood swings, bouts of depression, incessant talking. It also KILLS my libedo, I can't get it up, and if I can it won't stay hard. Loss of sexual desire. I have genital shrinkage, it feels like I've dipped my balls in cold water. I'm always thirsty, chills and have almost as much trouble paying attention I'm school as when I forget to take it. M 17 6 years

3  ADHD When I first started taking Vyvanse it was amazing! My grades improved and I was more attentive. Now I feel like it is going down hill... I get BAD mood swings, anxiety, I get paranoid and feel unwanted and like i dont fit in. I am always chewing and picking my nails, and I have been doing it since I started taking Vyvanse. When I don't take it I eat SOOOOO much and its horrible. I feel like Im addicted to it... It isnt a bad drug and it does what its suppose to do. F 15 5 years

3  ADD and depression motor mouth, weight loss, anger, irritability, concentration It helped with my ADD right away. I can focus and get things done. I was elated about the weight loss, and didn't even want to tell my doctor when the anger and irritability started to be a problem in my marriage and in my family. I finally did tell her and she prescribed Equetro in addition, which has helped the moods but I gained 15 lbs. and have frustrating memory loss. I'm wondering if the whole thing is worth it.  3  ADHD/fatigue/Brain Fog Positive Side effects: MOTIVATION (first few years)... My amount of sales increased by aprx $200k+/yr; can complete daily tasks like a normal person; energy to exercise. WEIGHT LOSS/LESS CRAVINGS: LOVE this aspect of course - I feel like a normal person should. ORGANIZED THOUGHTS (for first few years): The amount of clarity on prioritizing my day and actions was amazing and powerful. HELPED WITH MY DEPRESSION, FATIGUE, CONFIDENCE... CAN GET THROUGH MY DAY WITH ENERGY AND JOY! NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS: FORGETFULNESS: (weird since it helps me organize so many thoughts but I forget simple things ALL the time like my clients names or appointments... or just yesterday my friends were taking me out for a b-day lunch and I remembered an hour before and then COMPLETELY forgot... who forgets their b-day party??? Tired Jaw in evening. Rash - little itchy bumps on my breasts that scab over and then come back the next month... weird. Twitches, involuntary muscle movement or tensing. Pressure I am 44 and have taken Vyvanse along with my 2 adult kids for the past 5 years. We all started at the same time for ADHD. We all had great results for the first few years. They did much better in school and I did MUCH better at work... we all felt like we were like how normal people were supposed to feel. After a few years though it seemed like the effects of our organized thinking wore off and possibly replaced with more forgetfulness and worse thought processing than we had before. I have seriously wondered if it has killed some of our brain cells. I have owned 2 mortgage companies and have been in the top 10 realtors in my area... I have had a successful career for 20 years and now after 5 years on vyvanse I feel like Im loosing it... like my brain doesnt work anymore. Also my son who was on it started having delusions 2 years ago and has now been diagnosed with schizophrenia... he remains on vyvanse because it helps with his negative symptoms. My daughter who is on it is a ray of sunshine whom everyone adores but I feel like she is loosing her mind too - she is 22 and every day she has a different idea of what she wants to do with her life and cant make a decision about anything. One might say we all have something hereditary thats making us like this but by the time I was their age I had a car paid for and a great job AND went to college. They can barely take 9 credits and cant hold a job. So we all went down hill together and are spinning our wheels wondering if its because F 44 5 years

1  ADHD I always feel bored, I feel like punching my self, when I take the shitty medication, I have thoughts of suicide, once every month, only this year though. I had numbing pain in.my leg and my feet. I always feel depressed when I take it. Got headaches and chest pains. Had irregular heartbeat 2 years ago. Picking my skin. I always think DO NOT PICK, but my hands disobey me. I hate this phyiatric drug, it's annoying as shit. I did better without this dumb medication. Oh, and disturbingly, I am skinny and can feel my spine and ribcase. F 5 years

1  step mom thought I had ADHD I didn't even know my own name had the worst withdraw symptoms I have ever had. Caused me to find out recently that because of my miss diagnosis I can now never have children because my body became severely under developed. I weighed a grand total of 83 pounds and looked like a dead person walking. I would never reccomend this to anyone giving this to your child may kill them in the long run parents. Or even better you may never get grand babies. This is the worst drug created it goes hand in hand with adderall XR. Please I beg of you use common sense when dealing with kids you can screw thier lives up forever !!! Sincerely, Raven Nightshade Don't give this to your kids please I know from experience F 26 5 years

5  Cuz I'm an amphetamine addict Loss of appetite, dry mouth, racing thoughts, impulse to write rhymes, clean my room and play COD, all goes away after a month This shits the bees knees. Don't take more than you need or it's like smoking crack... I assume. You can always up the dose, but too much off the bat will make you nervous and shaky. Once you metabolism syncs up with the medicine it's all smooth sailing and productivity. Ps not really an amphetamine addict. ADHD. M 23 4 years
