1  Neuropathic pain in neck Bloated belly, loss of libido, weight gain Lyrica worked at first but at some point over 14 years it quit helping with pain. Worried about dementia, read that Lyrica can contribute. Trying to get off this filthy drug is pure hell: anxiety, jitteriness, hot flashes, insomnia, waking 3-5 times a night. Had to taper very slowly. Even if you didn't have seizures when you started it, you can get them if you go cold turkey. Still not off it totally. Took me one month to go from 2 to 1 75mg per day, another month to cut that in half. Worth the effort to get off it! Libido returned, because this drug lowers testosterone and both sexes need that hormone! Getting off has restored my sense of self also. If you're not taking it please don't start. Expensive nightmare. F 66 14 years

5  Nerve pain in my back legs and feet There may have been some mild side effects long ago. But nothing now. I dont know what i would do without my Lyrica! You do know if you miss a dose. I hurt terribly without it. F 45 10 years

5  Fibromyalgia None Known Tried to see if I could get off of drug, but found that my foot pain was so bad that I could barely function. This is one of the several drugs I take to lead a semi productive life and still able to work full time. Quality of life is still somewhat impaired, but I must keep working for at least 10 more years & realize work gives me purpose to get out of bed at this time of my life. M 49 10 years

5  Spinal stenosis The only thing I noticed was a increase in appetite. This can be abused! I know because I do occasionally. Alcohol tolerance was noticeably high,no hangover. But just might be me. M 60 10 years

4  nerve damage in leg Weight gain!!! Sugar cravings. Lyrica has immensely helped with the horrible nerve damage in my foot and leg but the weight gain has been very depressing to me. If I miss a dose accidentally, my nerves feel like they are being scraped with a dull knife...the pain is terrible. It has helped me so much that I have had to weigh the options and have decided to keep taking it because of the relief it gives me. F 58 10 years

2  Pain relief This drug worked somewhat for the first 1-2 years I was on it. Then it stopped working, and produced side effects like swelling of my feet and legs, but my doctors refused to take me off it. Eventually, I got mad and took myself off it. Withdrawal is nasty - I don't know how they can keep saying this stuff is better than narcotics, because the withdrawal from this was longer and just as intense. F 40 10 years

1  Nerve Damage in feet, back shoulder It is the worst drug I have ever taken. I underwent surgery to insert a spinal cord stimulator to get off Lyrica. Lyrica side effects were sleep apnea, considerable weight gain and all the other side effects mentioned. Now that I no longer take Lyrica I no longer snore or need the sleep apnea machine with mask. If you have sleep apnea, it could be from taking Lyrica. The drug company does not list that side effct. M 63 10 years

5  nerve pain in legs, feet from back Lyrica is the only medication that has helped my nerve pain. I am not aware of any side effects that bothered me. The biggest reason I am considering changing medications is the extreme high cost of Lyrica. F 72 8 years

4  nerve/muscle pain drowsiness is the only negative thing I've ever had. This drug has literally saved me! It's so expensive though. That's one reason I had to get off of it for several mos. when I was in my "donut hole" with Medicare. Whoever thought that thing up must have been smoking something at the time.!!! Anyway,I was miserable on Nuerontin and in so much pain I could barely function. Thank God my Dr. has given me enough samples to get me thru to January. I'm back to my old self and Im very happy, along with my family! I was not easy to live with in all of that pain! LYRICA IS THE BEST DRUG EVER!!!!!!! F 46 8 years

3  Fibromyalgia It works so very well for the pain and anxiety. However it's so very expensive and not possible to just suddenly stop taking it, at least in my case it's not. But it's the only medication that has helped me. Must slowly taper down or it could make you extremely sick. Achey all over, constant sweating, vomiting and diarrhea. Major insomnia and constant anxiety attacks and heart palpitations. F 32 8 years

3  Anxiety When I first started taking it it was like the ultimate happy pill I was sociable I was in a great mood and I had tons of energy and accomplished a lot. Since Lyrica doesn’t cure the problem it’s basically like alcohol the more you take it the more your body needs And I do admit I was taking more than I was supposed to be sometimes and I would always run out at the end of the month. I’ll be honest lyrica withdraws almost took my life there’s so many things that you feel whether it’s severe nausea you can’t even move your body, you literally want to kill yourself but you’re too sick to do it. This lasted approximately at least three months and I think I have permanent damage from it M 49 8 years

5  fibromyalgia Initially, a lot of dizziness and brainfog. That mostly stopped after a little while, and the only major lingering side effect is blurred vision. Additionally, some sexual dysfunction, but nothing I can't live with. Lyrica works much better than Gabapentin for controlling my fibro. It takes my pain down from a 9 to something I can live with, whereas Gabapentin just took a tiny bit of the edge off. M 34 7 years

1  Fibromyalgia Bad initial side effects when I started in 2012, extreme headaches, can still remember them clearly and extreme fatigue, I would literally sleep for 20 hours and wake up for an hour and then start the process again, this went on for months and no one knew what was wrong with me. So going forward to 2019, I have had 29 surgery’s since then, abscess all over my body, head to toe and only after recently watching a documentary about junkies, it’s the same as what junkies and meth heads get. I have been trying to get off this medication for about a year now and am down to the final 150mg, however even doing withdrawal over this period is a waste of time as when you get to the final 150mg, all the symptoms start again and it’s a bad balancing game . I would love to know if any of of the manufacturers have used this drug or would like there family’s too give it a go, it sucks and flooded the Uk market with none of the advertisements and warnings that the USA had, our doctors heard it worked on nerve pain and gave it a go on patients. Don’t take unless you’re happy to be on it for life with horrible side effects that are not widely diagnosed in the Uk, just put down to your initial diagnosis. I look like the elephant man some days, I haven’t had a normal life in years.... I wouldn’t be as pissed off if I hadn’t had a single abscess until I started taking the Pregabalin, not one doctor to this date has put two and two together.... I have had a few significant mental breakdowns and again nothing before the pregabaline use. M 30 7 years

1  Fibromyalgia It worked for my muscle pain but over time I got more forgetful, more clumsy, more not me.7yrs and 1 day I lost it and I went crazy litterally.Im OK now at 29 though I think I have mental long term effects due to the length of time taking it and the high dosage amount I was prescribed.  1  Nerve pain Bad balance, blurred vision, weight gain, confusion Tapered off over one year after six failed attempts. Now have tardive dyskinesia, which appeared after year 4 of taking it, but I didn't realise it was Lyrica that caused it for so long. F 75 7 years
