5  OAB Dry mouth, constipation, episodic confusion. And hair loss--see Additional Comments I experienced a LOT of individual hair fall-out, about 50 when brushing it, and individual hairs falling out throughout the day. I thought it was "just me", but when I discontinuted taking the Vesicare b/c it stopped working (as all OAB meds seem to do eventually) I realized after a while that the hair fall-out had stopped. Vesicare had worked VERY well for so long--the best of them all. I would accept all the SE if only it had continued to work for me. F 75

1  Urgent and frequent urination. Muscular weakness and cramps. Feelings of agitation. Dizziness. Fatigue. Blurred vision. Whatever the positive values of Vesicare may offer, the offsetting negative side effects more than cancel them out. A very powerful drug that can cause more harm than good in those who are sensitive to it. In my opinion, it would be prudent for the FDA to reevaluate the efficacy and dangers of Vesicare, and, perhaps, order another set of studies before continuing to permit its widespread distribution.  1  To alleviate frequency and urgency. extreme dry mouth. blurry vision in one eye. erectile dysfunction. This seems to be a very dangerous and toxic drug. The side effects are extensive and intensive. I would not recommend that anyone take this pharmaceutical without doing a great deal of research first. M 72 4 weeks

3  over active bladder Great to start with has slowed down the amount i run to the bathroom, but crocky throught, burning eyes, now vision is getting blurred and worst of all confusion. I forget words, put things down and have no memory of where i put them it says in the info i have found 83% of people over 60 get confusion with this drug, would have been nice to have been told this before i started to stress out i might have dementia. Now what do i do ? stop it and go through hell with my bladder or as like i am 90+ and have lost my mind. F 64 3 months

2  Overactive bladder Dry mouth fatigue dry eyes I initially took 5mg but they did not stop my overactive bladder..there were no side effects with 5mg. My gp started me on 10mg. This is my third day on 10mg and I have side effects as described above plus now my breathing seems to be affected. I dont feel good so will not be taking anymore of the 10mg. My gp will probably say to give it a bit longer but I dont think I can tolerate the adverse side effects. I will go back on 5mg because the vesicare eased the pain I had in my pelvic/bladder region.  1  Urge Incontinence Although the medication helped initially, the side effects were unbearable. Increasingly alarming blurred and double vision, dry mouth, dry eyes, dry skin, extremely chapped lips, headaches, memory issues, constipation. After eye exams, the opthalmologist expressed concerns with some shadowy places on my eyes, as well as my complaints about recent blurry vision. I stopped taking the medication and hope that my eye issues can be resolved. This medication produced unbearable side effects. Initially dry mouth and eyes, constipation, headaches, progressed into memory issues, unbearable dry lips and skin, blurry and double vision. Finally, after eye exams when the doctor expressed concern about some showy place in eyes, I did more research and discontinued this medicine. It is horrible and should be reevaluated. Perhaps because the majority of people taking this medicine are women, drug companies think complaints of side effects are insignificant. F 63 2 months

4  Bladder leakage Dry mouth, hair thinning and loss/ memory loss? Have been taking this for 1 yr daily. At 62, not certain if symptoms are as a result of the med or age. Forgetfulness, trouble with words. Worse is am losing my hair rapidly and the dry mouth. Notice also that my taste is impaired. Have lost appetite as well provably due to taste decreased. But no one else expressed this. I may take it upon myself to reduce from every day to every other day. F 62 1 years

4  Overactive bladder, nocturia Mild nausea, low mood, blurry vision It took a few weeks for my body to get used to this drug. I find taking it before bed is best time. Definitely helps in that I take less trips to loo during night and day. Still get leakages when sneezing / coughing sometimes. Overall, drug has been worth taking. Currently contemplating come off for a while as nausea an issue, what with still having to work. F 61 3 years
