| 1 | ED | excruciating muscle pain, inability to sleep until completely exhausted | I bought 'off market/generic?' Cialis based on the 36 hour availability, as an experiment. A couple of days after taking the first pills, I had excruciating pain in shoulders (bilateral). As I was suffering from carpal tunnel in both wrists, and with prior surgeries to both shoulders, I did not understand that it was the Cialis that was causing that pain. I went to an Orthopedic doctor who offered 1 solution to all four joints (both wrists and both shoulders), Cortisone injections. I said I would rather try Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy for a solution first. (Completely stupid here, I did not understand that the Cialis had caused this pain… and) I simultaneously acquired a prescription from my GP for Cialis, 5 mg x 30 days. The pain increased, there appeared to be no solution with therapists ~ and I still did not understand that Cialis was the cause. I proceeded to take the 5mg Cialis for the next month, literally writhing in pain, unable to sleep ~ as Orthopedic Doc, PT, and OT worked toward solving the range of motion restrictions, and pain in wrists and shoulders. FINALLY after a month of more pain, discovered way too late, that it was Cialis that was causing the excruciating pain. So I quit, more than 2 weeks ago. The pain continues UNABATED. MD says drug will only 'clear' equal to the amount of time I took the drug (2 months). There is no Antidote. It's not. Horrible burning pain in my thighs, calves, hips and knees. This is a nightmare drug. I can't sleep. I can't get comfortable. Taking Ibuprofen and hoping it clears my system soon. It is not worth this agony. Don't believe the commercials, men. It is not as great as they make it look. They don't show the wincing and hobbling. Excedrin for Migraines or Advil took care of them. Some initial nasal stuffiness, especially after ejaculating. A decongestant taken ahead of time helped with that. If you stop taking the medicine and later restart it, your body will have to adjust to it again. You will have the headaches and nasal congestion again. | After I went on blood pressure medicine, I had trouble getting and maintaining erections. Then, I became Diabetic, too. Both my GP and my Urologist suggested going on Cialis. It has been a huge help! In addition to helping with erections, it has helped greatly with urination. I have reduced urge during the day, and only get up once per night. Recently, my GP switched me from Diovan HCT to Losartan for blood pressure and my erections are stronger yet. I read somewhere that Losartan can be helpful to male Diabetics who experience ED. I now often wake up in the morning with full erections. Daily walking (or other form of exercise) helps, too. As a precaution I am reducing my dose. | I have used Cialis for about 9 one month periods over the last 18 (I travel a lot for work so am not always with my partner). This includes genuine Cialis and Apcalis (both seem to work). I was able to achieve and maintain an erection before taking Cialis but it has markedly improved my rigidity and frequency of intercourse. I use 20mg cut into smaller bits. I was using 5 mg per day but am now trying 3 mg day. X-Rays and MRI find no issues in spine and hips, but now I suspect Cialis is major component of symptoms. Before Cialis, I did have some problems when standing where upper thighs would intermittently go numb, and the suspicion was that being overweight and not enough exercise was the issue and possibly resulting in a condition called myralgia paresthetica, where inflammation or weight presses against inguinal nerve. But this condition is frequent now, and when I walk for a while, my legs, particularly right leg is weak, and I start limping. Never had any constant lower back or hip pain before Cialis. Physical therapy and stretching gives some temporary relief. Some difficulty sleeping because of issues, and legs can sometimes feel uncomfortable or restless. I am going to stop Cialis at this time due to similar experiences of others. Cialis did offer moderate benefit to ED issue, but if this is the cause of my other symptoms, not worth feeling like I am crippled when I walk. As part of the therapy, together with functional electric stimulation, it was a good success. I experienced no negative side effects of this longer term low dose treatment.
