5	ED	Took 20 mg on Saturday and had no side effects at first then began to feel like I had just run a marathon. My hips and then my legs became sore and stiff. I had a hard time getting up from couch. I was uncomfortable walking and sitting on hard chairs. Took 400 mg Ibuprofen / Advil or 900 mg aspirin ( both cases 3 tablets) every 4-6 hours. Caused stiffness to moderate somewhat. I also had a minor headache 12 hours after taking 2o mg which went away quickly on taking ibuprofen or aspirin. I did not have discomfort sitting on a soft couch or in bed and other than discomfort when I moved it did not effect love making.	I am having Prostate cancer radiation both beam and seeds. Although I have had some urinary inconstancy, There has been little effect on my libido or the ability to get an erection but had difficulty keeping an erection. After taking 20 mg cialis I was stunned at how hard my erection was during loving making ( sex for some of you guys ) I have taken Cialis before with no muscle discomfort so I was not inclined to blame cialis until I read some of the posts here. 5	ED	Experienced slight stuffy nose about an hour after taking it. Severe lower back pain about a month into using it. I started with 5mg on a Friday night, another 5mg on Saturday morning, and then went to 10mg Friday and Saturday. Side effects happened after taking 10mg three days in a row. I'm going to try and stick with less dosage and hope for the best.	After a ten year marriage (with no ED problems), then a few drunken experiences with girls that were way age-inappropriate for me (half my age - and again, and unbelievably, no ED problems), I started a serious relationship again and BAM, no erections. It was embarrasing - when you're used to having good erections and then all of a sudden they stop, it catches you off guard. Anyhow, after a few months of embarassment, the doc gave me a trial of Cialis and WOW - it worked better than I could have hoped. A couple hours after taking it, I could feel myself chubbing up like I did when I was a teenager. Sex was great - one session right after another, and without the fear that I was going to lose my erection half way through (awful experience). Downside is I finally got the dreaded backache and it was horrible. It was bad enough to wake me up and kept me from falling back asleep. 5	slight ED	First time tried 20 mg - Slight stuffy nose and heartburn, but after 2 days very bad back and hip pain that lasted three days. Was worse when lying down and I could hardly sleep. I tried smaller doses and now have 5 mg per day every day. There are no side effects now, other than occasional very mild hip pain that is OK, especially considering the benefits.	It is amazing how much of a difference Cialis (or now I am using a Tadalafil generic from India) can make. It has taken me back 30 years in performance. I would suggest to anyone suffering back and hip pain to try 5 mg per day, every day. The residual from previous days will give a daily body concentration cycle of a maximum of 8.3 mg and a minimum of 3.3 mg. 3	ED	Insane lower back ache, shin/calf ache,hip, glute/siatic murdering me. I do have some minor back problems and I think it amplifies 10x what is there or hiding, ready to manifest when you take cialis. This I assume because I only get the pain on my right side. Cant sleep due to pain. I think it amplifies whatever back or leg problems you already have because it causes swelling in soft tissue around nerves. Heartburn sometimes. I take calcium pills or drink milk to kill it.	The sex is great. It does delay ejaculation and speeds recovery for round two. Sometimes i can slip off the condom and keep going. 3	For longer lasting intercourse	Have correlated usage with severe aches in legs, thighs a couple of days after use. Can make sitting at a desk very uncomfortable Most recently made sleeping impossible. Two 200mg ibuprofen helped but pain began again the following early afternoon. 4	Soft Erections	Flushed face (for about 3 hours), stuffiness (first day), mild nausea (on and off for 4 days), lower back ache (after 3rd day and lasts to 5th day)	It certainly does what it promises. Nice erection pretty much on demand for 3.5 days (sometimes even when inappropriate!). The nausea is fixed with a Somac tablet. The back pain is one of those annoying things that is a bit of a downer. Ibuprofen takes the edge off it and makes it possible to sleep. 5	Antidepressants, Age, HepC	Some headache at base of skull; take Advil, and drink lots of water. On day 4, I'm having heartburn-after taking 1 on Thursday, 1 on Saturday morning & 1 on Sunday Noon--did not realize heartburn was a sx until reading this forum.	Grrreeeaaatt! I'll take Priolec, and Advil, to address these minor side effects or heartburn and headache. Given a high dose of Effexor for a few years, and being 51 but in pretty good shape, and having HepC, and smoking cigarettes (I know--I've gotta stop), I could still get an erection but it would not last long enough. With Cialis, the erection is like the Everyready Bunny--It keeps going and going and going. I still have difficulting with an orgasm, and am optomistic that will work out as I become more tuned to the new me. When I did masturbate on Friday night, I sensed greater intensity and amount and flow of semen--which has also been a major frustraction for me in the past years. Other side effects which were more mild included heartburn and facial redness including pronounced flushed areas on my cheeks. 5	12-yr younger gf, better experience	All of the common ones at various times with mixed severity: lower back pain, little heartburn, congestion, very slight facial flush, maybe a bit of nausea. But never terrible, I know what the devil is, and it's worth it for sure. Good diet, some basic exercise, and 400 mg. ibuprofen really all it takes.	Great erections - much better and more consistent than my 5+ years with Viagra periodically. Rock hard even with a couple of glasses of wine or slightly fatty foods. 1	ED	Terrible lower back and thigh (back side) pain that set in 24 hrs. after taking a 20 mg pill. Extremely difficult to sleep, but pain also in sitting and walking. On my 3rd day of pain now. **Effective drug: IBUPROFEN** 2 x 200 mg tablets work within minutes (fabulous!) and last 8+ hrs. Some headache experienced, too. I only took one pill and definitely will never take another!	Sure, it made me mostly hard (when I wanted to be) for a day or two, but it's absolutely not worth the resulting ongoing pain. 3	ED	Heartburn, headache, stuffy nose, slight feeling of disassociation. Also had hives and felt like my face got burned, but not sure it was the Cialis that did these latter two.	Second time I learned -- take Cialis at the same time with Pepcid extra strength, Advil and two good shots of Afrin nose spray. Bit off first 10mg frag on Sunday, second 5mg frag on Monday afternoon. Still getting spontaneous boners on Thursday evening. It works for me. Viagra is harsh and doesn't work if you've eaten anything aside from lettuce in the last two hours. Levitra seemed spotty. 3	Better performance	Clogged feeling, very heady and some back pain occasionally. Vision a little blurred on occasions. 20mg is a disaster, but 10mg is good for a couple of days. 5mg the day after keeps things going well.	I alternate between using it and not using it. 5	Borderline diabetic	No side effects.	I am 57 and have been using Cialis for more than a year after having bariatric surgery (my ED did not go away after this surgery). I have a very huge erection (around 8 inches, honest. It doesn't salute the ceiling straight up, but it is better in some ways) and, depending upon how long I go between ejaculations, a (I think, comparatively) huge amount of semen (whether amounts of my emission are just semen fluid or sperm, I don't know). My wife is surprised by this. I can last much longer without a premature ejaculation and find myself pumping her silly up to a good 15 minutes. She says it is sometimes difficult to keep up with me, and for me to be patient. She, too, gets sore, but is getting used to it. I haven't experienced any of those "4 hour erections" (why is that such a bad thing? :-) Yeah, okay, I do know....), but I do sometimes find myself walking around with a 7/8ths quasi-soft boner. When I take Cialis, I am a bit more horny than without it. I agree with the other person on this page that, with Cialis, I don't get the urgency to hurry up and screw or masturbate as I did with Viagra. Sometimes a dose lasts as much as three days. You DO need to keep up your exercise for a better experience. I find sit-ups really help as they help with hip thrusts and eventual ejaculation. So, yeah, it is a good medicine if you do your part. 1	Post robotic prostectomy	Severe muscle cramping and pain in both legs so bad went to emergency room to rule out leg clot. They acted like they never heard of this problem before. I couldn't sleep for two days, took x-tra strength tylenol, adivan, percocet...nothing worked. Can't sit or lay down. Ice is helping and bath with epsom salt helped temporarily. 4	Erectile Dysfunction	red tired eyes from time to time but not that prevalent. my legs hurt though, not a muscular hurt but an inner hurt. the pain starts in my hips and goes down to my calves on and off. i have to take excedrin to get sleep.. i took 20 mg on friday, saturday the pain began, it's a monday (72 hours later) and the pain in my legs has not subsided. i feel minor back pain, and pain by my left tricep. minor headache 24 hours later.	Really helped. I tried levitra but usually get extremely hot that i need to take cold showers or jump in the pool or blast the A/C. Cialis didn't have that effect but it's had its own pitfalls. 4	ED	Side effects vary. When taking a daily dose of 2.5 or 5 mg I've experienced some stuffiness, no headaches and some leg discomfort (more like aching from walking or running too much). When taking a larger dose the stuffiness increases and sometimes a slight headache but no leg or back ache (go figure). Erections vary from rock hard to just ok (depends on the partner and how different or interesting the sex is)....My experiences with Viagra were similar but for a shorter period of time (good and bad). 1	recreational	Constant headache for three days after taking it; leg/hip pain severe enough to wake me up at night; also general body and muscle aches that seemed to move around-almost flu like symptoms. Any alcohol consumption whatsoever makes symptoms worse. 4	Diminished Performance	Sometimes, around 50% of the time, depending on the amount taken I get a bad headache. Which a lot of people seem to experience. See below.	The headache that you get from taking cialis is because cialis is a systemic (entire body) vasodilator, this means it opens up your blood vessels and allows for much better blood flow throughout your whole body. Unfortunately some places increased blood flow is a bad thing E.G. your brain/ head (yes the bigger one lol) when your blood vessels open and dilate in that area it causes headaches and pressure/sinus pressure. Headache medicine or pain killers will not help you so don't waste your time. If you want to counteract this the only thing that will help is a vasoconstrictor and the only one that you should ever even dream about taking is ephedrine which is now a controlled substance by the FDA here in the U.S. even then it would probably just defeat the purpose of taking the cialis anyhow. Possibly if you took too much cialis if you somehow could take a very small amount of ephedrine it might help your headache and let you retain the boost in your pants but don't quote me on this and always ask your doctor before doing anything like this. 4	Age related ED	Finally realized, after three years or so, that it was the Cialis that was causing my heartburn and seriously exacerbating my previously minor back pain (upper and mid back).	I couldn't believe, or didn't want to believe, that a drug that had such excellent primary effects would have such bad side effects. It worked great, and the fact it would last so long made me feel like a kid again...until the back pain turned me into an old man. After a week off Cialis, my back was obviously improving, and after two weeks there was no question I had to try something else. 5	E.D.	Had some minor facial flushing and stuffy nose for a short time.	Having type 2 diabetes was causing problems getting erections hard enough for sex. With Cialis I have erections that are very hard and long lasting. Penetration is no longer a problem. We're enthusiastic about sex again. Being able to stay hard allows us to start and stop a few times and not rush to finish. Not having to worry my erection will fade brings us to some really impressive orgasms. 5	Erectile dysfunction	I started witha prescription of 3 10 mg pills. Initially I took a 10 mg pill on Thursday to test it out, but had only minor results, and virtually no side affects. I then took two 10 mg pills on Saturday and I had a headache. Ibuprofin helped a little. Some minor body aches, but nothing huge. One possible benefit: I had pulled a muscle in my back. It was quite painful. Shortly after taking the pill 10 mg pill, the pain almost completely wet away.	It made my erections harder and last longer. I took the 10 mg pill on Thursday will little effect and then two 10 mg pills on Saturday morning and have had erections (with some diminishment in hardness and length) through today (Thursday). 3	reduced Recovery	Ouch ! Such an unbearable back pain 24 hours later. The pain is in a location where I have had pain before but never this bad. It does what it is supposed to helping to improve erections. I wonder if the drug interferes with the body's natural ability to block pain from problem areas.	We are trying to conceive and as it usually takes more than 24 hours for me to be able to perform again this has made it possible to increase our chances by reducing the time for recovery. 4	ED	Some pain in my legs however tolerable. Congested sinuses.	I was prescribed 20mg Cialis and read some of the comments posted here and decided to break my first pill in half and take only 10mg. I experienced minor side effects as described but nothing that would hinder my future use of this med. I will tell you this, the stuff works! When needed, I had a raging erection that served its purpose better than it has in a long time. After 24 hours I took the other half and continued the good times. 3	To help sustain erections	Like many here, severe leg and lower back pain, to the extent I could not sleep. Nightmarish if you don't know what is happening to you. Suspected it was the drug. Had to take 400mg ibuprofen for relief and that was two nights in a row. The Cialis dose was half of a 20mg pill.	The positive effects were significant. Mainly, the erections were quite natural with minimal to no flushing and stuffiness or visual effects as with Viagra. Found myself erect at various times of the day, which reminded me of my younger days(!) for sure. It lasted about two days. I would like to take it again but I'm a little gun shy after that intense pain with the first experience. 5	To Maintain an Erection	Muscle soreness everywhere in my body & sometimes Bad Heartburn. And even a general edginess for days the first time I took it, but not thereafter.	The first time I took 20mgs of Cialis, it was a disaster. 36 hours later, I felt sore everywhere and I had a really bad heartburn. I think the really bad heartburn was caused by drinking some red wine. Several months later I split a 20 mg tablet into 2 tablets of 10 mgs. I also stopped drinking wine for 2-3 days after I took the tablet. I had no problems whatever with 10 mgs. But the 10 mg tablet also wasn't nearly as effective as a 20 mg tablet. I have now taken eight (8) full 20mgs tablets. I have found that the key thing is to stick with it, not to quit. I also found that a couple of glasses of wine did not appear to cause me a problem, but out of an abundance of caution more than once I gave up drinking for 2-3 days after taking Cialis. But I also found if I took 2 months or more off, the first time I took a 20 mg tablet, the second and maybe the third nights (never the first) I had bad muscle aches everywhere in my body and maybe some heartburn. 1	sexual steroid	Tried 20mg for the first time. Frequent belching and extreme heartburn started within the first couple of hours and made my mouth taste sour. I had a mild lingering headache after about 4 hours until I went to sleep. When I got up the next morning I had a huge charlie horse in the back of my leg. I became extremely dizzy and had to lay back down. I couldn't feel my pulse, got really cold and sweaty and thought I was going to lose conciousness for about 5 minutes. After 24 hours, I experienced soreness in my neck and back muscles.	I'm an average, healthy male. I'm not on any other medication and I don't smoke. This drug did not alter my erections in any way, but I admit that I was not taking it for the prescribed purpose. I would highly recommend avoiding Cialis unless you absolutely need it, or at least start yourself off at a LOW dosage (5mg) to see how you respond. 5	Booster	See comments -	Please refer back to my entry of Nov 7, 2007. This is a follow-up. I believe I have now found the formula that works for me. The 20 mg. left me with feelings of discomfort, so now I crack a 20 mg. in half. I take 10 mg. before eating at suppertime Friday – seems to go into effect sooner on an empty stomach. Break the remaining 10 mg. in half. Take a 5 mg. ‘crumb’ at noon Saturday and the final 5 mg. ‘crumb' at noon Sunday. This will last me until the following Wednesday/Thursday. Good to go anytime for the better part of a week with just a slight lower back stiffness getting out of bed in the morning. Clearly, Saturday to Tuesday are the best days, but weekday/workday activity leaves less time for fun stuff anyway. 4	Better sex	I guess the only side effect I get is a headache.	10 mg usually gets me rock hard. Erections are as firm as I had when I was a teen. One tab tends to work over about 3 days. Happy with extra length and girth and fullness of glans (which gets drum tight). 1	Stronger Erection	I had a horrible experience on Super Bowl Sunday after taking Cialis 20mg on Saturday. I had a seizure while watching the game and ended up in hospital & scaring my wife to death. 5	recreational use	Amazing stuff. Best sex I ever had was using viagra, levitra, or cialis.	Have to take it about 2 hours before, but effects are noticable up to 4 days. Very noticable in the first 36 hours; practically causes an erectinon when thinking about sex. Note that there's quite a bit of difference in quality. I wouldn't trust the online pharmacies. When you get one from a regular pharmacy (I told my doctor I needed a perscription), the effects are amazing. My guess is that the online pharmacies are selling out of date medicine; the stuff noticable deteriorates after the exparation date. Regardless, if you take a real 20mg one you'll know, there's some slight back and calf pain a few days later, but this can be alliviated with an advil. The 10mg dose practicaly has no side effects, but I prefer the 20mg. My 2 cents is make sure you get a perscription from a doctor and use a reputable pharmacy -- the online pharmacies know that you're not going to sue them or take them to court, since the medicine relates to ED. 1	ED	For the first 6-8 times I took 20 mg Cialis, there were no side effects (believe it or not) and then it hit me big time. Unbelievable/unimaginable upper back pain - I was too stunned but never connected Cialis to the back pain till I saw this website (although I slightly suspected after reading abt. side effects). I had MRI done, visited spine doctor, etc. and nothing was wrong. Of course, I was too embarrased to tell the spine doctor that I'd taken Cialis. Anyway, I will never forget the pain in my life - took prescription medication for two weeks to get relief, missed work for a whole week, etc. Foolishly enough, after I recovered I took Cialis again because I wasn't sure if Cialis had anything to do with it - on other words I became a guinea pig. Guess what happenned when I I took Cialis again - this time it was the lower back - three weeks later - I'm still recovering. Holy cow - who would want to take this stuff - if it makes you feel closer to the coffin? Cialis should be	Does it work? Sure it does work within one hour of taking it with or without food (which was very important to me since I was sick and tired of sex when I am actually hungry for food - but did it several times because of Viagra). While Cialis has the advantage of this plus it truly stays in your body for 36 hours or longer, its side effects can scare the bravest man on the planet. I also noticed that the erections were consistently less dramatic in comparison with Viagra (not too much but enough to make me go back to Viagra for this reason alone, leave alone side effects). Actually, I thought of trying Levitra because of its less sensitivity to food, even picked up a sample from my doctor's office. However, I learnt later that Levitra is a "non-formulatory" drug and my insurance copay doubles - I am not willing to pay double - would rather go back to Viagra and have sex on empty stomach (dinner can be had after sex!) 1	ED Drug Prescribed by My Urologist	Severe lower back, base of the neck (spinal) and upper leg pain beginning about 30 hours after taking the drug. I've had back pain before, but it's never been this bad. The back pain greatly amplifies immediately if my lower back area encounters cold air. I am taking 2 tablets of Tylenol Arthritis Pain Formula every 6 hours to deal with the pain. I cannot lie down, as it amplifies the pain greatly. I have to sleep sitting up in a hardwood rocker with a heating pad against my lower back. I also experienced about 24 hours of headache and my face is still 'flushed' and warm to the touch. I am also experiencing intermittent aching in both arms.	I won't take this drug again...the minimal benefit that I experienced from using it is far out weighed by the physical discomfort that that I've been out through in the past 36 hours. On a scale of 1 to 10, the lower back and the base of the neck pain peaks at 10 every 6 hours. I started out with a 10 mg dosage, and although I didn't experience any side effects at all with it, the desired effect was minimal. So, a few weeks later, I tried the 20 mg sample pill...wrong move! There wasn't any noticeable improvement using the larger dosage. This drugs horrible side effects showed up only with the larger dosage. After reading the other coments about the 'hit and miss' side effects that happen with this drug, I won't take it again! I suspect that I was lucky with the initial 10 mg dose in not encountering any side effects whatsoever. 4	confidence about erection	moderate heartburn moderate leg cramps, especially in calves	I generally take 2.5 mg every 12 hours, every day. I put the tablet eighths into empty gelatin caps. It's a nice ritual. Using the absolute cheapest generics, the dose potency (and mine too) is variable, adding some naturalness. In my relation, there's no knowing when chances will arise. Even with this routine there's a time about 2 hrs after taking when I'm heady and, while not aroused, am needy of being aroused. The characters being who they are, often nothing happens, nor 12 hours later, nor 12 hours later. Then there's something of panic, attended by sexual demands: not good. I'm getting better at guessing. I need Tadalafil with wife N+1. I did not need it with wife N. There was a 6 month experimental period of bigamy in which I didn't need it with wife N and did (but didn't have it) with wife N+1. 1	stay harder longer	First vertigo, then terrible pain in left arm and upper back after the last use, subsiding now after three days of ibuprofen having a hard time sleeping or working, so bad I do not even want to try it again even tho it worked great.	I used 20mg Cialis quite a bit for months before the vertigo hit. I did not even associate that with the Cialis for a couple of weeks, then thought to check published side effects. Bingo. 5	ED	No side effects. Only take a 1/4 or less of a 20mg tablet. Did get a headache when trying Levitra, but nothing with Cialis.	Because some of the side effects are so unpleasant, I'd rather use less of the drug. I only take a 1/4 or less dose of a 20mg tablet. It takes about 1 hour for the full effect and doesn't last much beyond 12 hours at this dose level. If needed, I'll take an additional smaller amount within 24 hours. It certainly is effective in both getting and maintaining an erection. My wife noticed and appreciated the larger size and increased stiffness. 4	Wanted to be harder.	Worst problem has been effect on waterworks - occasionally after taking feel the need to pee too often. Can live with it because it doesn't happen very often.	Have reduced dosage to say 2-4 g - break up a 10mg tablet into 3 or 4 pieces. No back pain with reduced dose. Great erection and sex when I get the dose just right. Can be effective for 3-4 days. 3	ED	I have experienced severe heartburn, terrible burps, trouble swallowing to the point i thought i was going to choke to death after taking 20mg every other day for 3 days. Probalby way to much. No aches or pains like others though but the gastro problems are not good. I laid off for a month and took 1 pill and got the heartburn and burbs back, although not as severe as when i took 3 in six days. Prilosec and Cialis worked good together though, no heartburn and no other side effect... although not sure how good for you taking that combo together is.	For some people this is great stuff.. after the first pill that was my opinion but after 3 in 6 days, i think there might be something better. Effect did last for about 4 days with just one pill, which is good, I think I will go back to the blue pill though as the severe heartburn, swallowing problems, and burps are not worth it. 4	for comparison	20 mg. Heart burn, head ache (mild), pain in lower back, some knee discomfort – all 5 on scale of 10. Side effects last about 1 day longer than the joy of the pill.	A) V and L (not crazy about this one) allows you to plan your next few hours. C let’s you be spontaneous for 2-3 days. Above symptoms are not unfamiliar to me from time to time. I didn’t recognize them as side effects until I found this site. Now I understand what was going on. Still, not severe enough to give it up. Some one commented that they hang longer/thicker between erections – great visual effect. I would agree. 2	Fun	Unbelievable back pain for 4 days after taking 20 mg. No noticable difference in power of errection - but dfinitely longer lasting - which was nice at the time - but ooooh the back pain... and I am an Athletic (300Klm plus per week on bike)	Try taking a fraction of the pill and wait and see if that works without severe back pain. 5	ED	I get streaks of color across my field of vision - usually blue or yellow. It goes away in less than 30 seconds. I am in the less than one tenth of 1% who experiences this.	It takes effect quickly - 30 minutes or so and it's often still working 24 hours or more later. I take 10mg. 5	Wanted to Experiment	Sinus Headache, heartburn	It has been a long time since an impromptu erection that was similar to daydreaming in school. Right or wrong, my first experiment was in a premature release. I seemed more sensitive, however later use things came back to perspective. I've read comments about increased performance. In getting up, I agree in longevity.. I disagree. Another point that laces with the above tends to by psychological. You seem more interested and more "alive". I also read about body aches and pains.. I got them, but feel it was because you are doing moves you haven't done for a long time. The complaints are like going to the Gym and saying your pain is because of the juice at the juice bar. Took it once, I still feel effects after 2 weeks.	M	51	1 days		10/24/2007
1	E.D.	I had SEVERE low back pain using 20 mg Cialis where I had cut the tablet in half. I wasn’t aware of the side effects, (shame on me for not doing my homework). I went to the ER as the symptoms were the most painful I’ve experienced, (and I’ve had my share including compound fractures, etc.) The doctors completed a full work up-CT scan; contrast MRI; X-rays, etc. I had several IVs of morphine. The doctors did not ask about Cialis and, not knowing any better, I didn’t mention it to them. Admittedly, I did not research Cialis until I took it again a week or so following the incident where I had the identical symptoms as before. I discontinued taking Cialis and haven’t had the symptoms since. I am canceling my remaining physical therapy appointments as Cialis, it appears, was responsible for my symptoms.
