| 1 | To lighten period | Tired, pack of energy, passing out, headache | I went to the doctor on Friday, was prescribed Nuvaring, put it in on Saturday morning. Was tired but not overly. Sunday I was exhausted, got up and did six miles, came home and stayed in bed all day. Watched the super bowl in bed. Went to sleep, got up to pee at 3:30am- came back and got in the bed and felt like I was about to pass out. I woke my husband up. Passed out three different times, threw up, and had diarrhea. The ambulance was called. My blood pressure had dropped and stayed low 98/56. My heart rate was between 41-52. Was very scary. Still didn’t realize it was the nuvaring. Laid in bed today, red about rare complications and realized the nuvaring was the source. Noticed an increased appetite after only a couple of days, but then days later it's like I'm not hungry at all. The first day or two, everything was fine and then I felt like I got hit by a bus. I felt severely depressed and angry. I just didn't feel like myself. Ever since then, I know I have been so unpleasant to be around because my husband has been asking me whats wrong multiple times a day every day. I keep telling him nothing because I really don't know whats wrong but I just feel so annoyed and pissed. Last night, I basically hated the world and my husband asked what was wrong again. I told him, I don't know but I need to be by myself. I asked him to take our three year old and leave me alone because I felt like I was going to burst. Like literally, I felt like I wanted crawl out of my own skin and I was so irritable. He told me that he has noticed a drastic change in me and that he is worried. I told him to leave me alone. This morning I woke up feeling worse than yesterday. It's like I can't smile nor do I want to. He asked me to go to the mall with him and my daughter and I reluctantly said okay. We were walking around and I started to sweat, get shortness of breath, anxiety shot through the roof, I felt clammy, and my whole body started to shake. I checked my Fitbit with a heart rate monitor and it said my resting heart rate was at 97. Usually I am around 54. We ended up making our way home. Now my vision is a little blurry, and the jitters are too much. The first 3 months I would have cramps almost anytime I used my core muscles (standing up, laughing hard, etc) but they were not painful like my regular cramps. Other than that, I had no extra symptoms from Nuva Ring. It has given me my life back, and taken away my dangerous PMDD symptoms and incredibly painful menstral cycles. Last year I suddenly started getting horrible migraines which I chalked up to too much computer screen time at work and dietary sensitivities. II took the Nuvaring out last month because my boyfriend wasn't going to be in town for a few months and the change in how I felt was absolutely staggering. After more than 10 years of using hormonal birth control, I suddenly realized I had actual feelings, desires, and a normal appetite. I used to think there was something wrong with me given my lack of zest for life and lack of interest in sex, but suddenly I suspected the birth control was the cause. I put the ring in again this month and sure enough I have no feeling in my stomach (i.e. I can eat huge amounts of food and still feel hungry all the time), I have near constant headaches, irritability, extreme thirst, and I just slept 8 hours, which is a lot for me, and I am absolutely exhausted anyway. I've made an appointment with my doctor and I hope I can drop this hormonal birth control ASAP and find something less harsh to use. Ladies, we need to ask our doctors for other options. If you feel like crap and are on hormonal birth control, SERIOUSLY consider when you started feeling bad and whether it might not be the super strong hormones messing with your life. | F | 30 | 2.5 years 1X day | 3/8/2017 | 3 | Birth Control | Nausea, headache, fatigue, dizziness, discharge, dry eyes and mouth, bouts of horrible anxiety, depression, weight gain and low sex drive | I am amazed at all of the reviews that I felt the need to add my experience with nuvaring. I loved the convenience because I am very forgetful and had an app that reminded me to take it out and when to put in a new one. I had cramping and fatigue the first few months and then my anxiety came in at full swing. I had anxiety in high school and learned how to control it and it came back out of no where. It sent me to the emergency room twice the first time it happened my pulse was 160 for an hour and an EKG came back as possible infract and I was sent to a cardiologist. The second time I had a racing pulse again out of no where and I was feeling very faint and another abnormal EKG. I went to the cardiologist where I had a normal echo and wore a 30 day halter monitor that showed normal heart function. They ruled it as stressed and to keep staying active and if any racing happens to go back to the cardiologist for more testing. I had many sleepless night where my heart would race and I would have to go and meditate to try and bring my heart and myself back to earth. I even had a hard time showering I would be anxious. I woke up with a heavy tight chest and my whole body would ache. I had such bad fatigue that some days I literally felt like I may collapse. I overall felt strange. Random tingling in hands and feet. Rashes and itchy skin. Headaches and random nausea. Also experienced what I'd describe as motion sickness. Some days I felt like I was dying.
