4  ADHD - hyperactivity/focus problems hyperhidrosis, weight loss, decreased appetite, prominent anxiety, slightly blurry vision, mood swings, depression, insomnia, anti-social, feeling robotic, dry mouth, irritability, nervousness, numbness/tingling/cold feeling in the hands or feet, muscle twitches, and mild psychosis. I've been on it for so long I can't really monitor the differences of being on or off it. First time taking it my grades spiked from D+ to A+. I began feeling anti social and many of my teachers pulled my aside to question my social involvement and participation in school. Now in University, I have become reliant, and chose to be educated while sacrificing my social life. I have little friends and drinking is becoming a slight problem. Depression and anxiety is even worse when you're isolated. Sometimes I don't know if it's the pills or not and I will never know because I'm not going off them to monitor my behavior as I will definitely fail school. I feel hopeless. Once my pill wears off, I don't do anything (Around 8PM) and without doing any external research, I feel like an idiot because I don't know for example; Historical contexts. As a hyper kid, I was constantly pressured to "Clam Down". I used to make videos of my family on my little iPod when I was kid and my parents and brother told me to stop filming and clam down. It was really my only out, now I have submitted to pills. If I am taking pills to function, no other drugs are out of the table in my mindset. I'm not big on other drugs but drinking is a vice that takes me away from this stress. I hope to seek therapy or something but who knows. M 20 9 years

4  ADD Tachycardia, hyperhidrosis, increased blood pressure, weight loss, decreased appetite, tingling in feet and hands*, colder than normal hands*, intermittent anxiety, blurry vision, heart palpitations, occasional chest pain, increased instances of idiopathic hematomas, ringing in ears, headaches (pressure, diffuse) I was on concerta when I was a teen for a few months and again in college for a few months. At that point in time I did not see any improvement in my ADD symptoms, however, I was smoking pot and taking Prozac so that's hard to say if it was truly working or not. I recently started taking concerta again (03/2016). I have noticed a huge improvement in my ability to focus, complete difficult and undesirable tasks, and memory. I can feel when the medication starts wearing off in that it is harder to keep focus and my memory capacity tanks. When I first started taking Concerta again, I was more tired in the mornings. That balanced out but now I'm having some concerning side effects. I have family hx of early MI and heart disease on both maternal and paternal sides. I also have anxiety and this ringing in the ears at night, fussy vision, pressure headache, and angina aren't helping my stress levels. I will be seeing my dr tomorrow, keep y'all posted.  3  ADHD-PI Increased Appetite, Tiredness, Feel Dopey, Sporadic inconsistent clarity and focus, Sporadic inconsistent stimulation I have inattentiveADHD with some anxiety and this medications inconsistent benefits have been disappointing. I like how mellow and stable it makes me feel, but I'm also tired most of the time on it. I find that I have to drink caffeine with it a couple times a day in order to wake myself up. Also, my appetite has been "weird", I feel quite hungry, but don't don't know what I want. I get bursts of extreme hunger on this. The intermittent effects of this are bothersome. When it wears off I don't feel a "crash" like I did on Vyvanse, I get a little irritable, take some magnesium and I'm fine. I am giving this another few days to see if everything smooths out,as I like how calm and happy I feel with this, but I can't go on being tired. The main idea is focus not mood, so we'll see. :-) keeping my fingers crossed. F 39 3 days

4  ADD do not drink alcohol with it or you'll regret it in the morning you'll want to die and you'll most certainly feel that sh** for more than a day and you're body will hurt like a bitch for some reason , at least mine did !!! Whatever it is , don't drink and take it , just a horrible idea with horrible consequences following .. I loved it , helped me focus continued to work better each time and made me feel like a million bucks I'd say it helped get rid of some of my anxieties and depression too with the right amount and it was nice for a change considering nothing else has worked for me but concerta does me good I guess ! also, do not recommend for addicts because you will get hooked fast and take way too many leading up to a certain point cuz it is a great way to speed out but not what it's meant for and could really harm you . trust me I tried it and than ended up taking it only for the right reason and it works just fine for me now. And as I said before no alcohol with it once agajn, it's just a risk not worth taking, especially with the hard liquors such as Malibu , Bacardi , Whiskey or anything of the type ! F 16 5 days

3  Adult ADD/Depression Since it generally was to help w/my Focus & Concentration, it would work :) However, it'd make me jittery, fast heartbeat & headache... Recently (past month) the headaches have increased from being Mild & Manageable to now being Moderate & Irritating. Also, nausea set in 2-3wks ago & just last week began the nausea followed by vomiting :( *This rating is my 'current stint w/Concerta, tho took it B4, years ago* -- Take it AS PRESCRIBED (for all U addicts out there)! Yes, I AM A RECOVERING ADDICT & tried my own way & it doesnt ever work - @ least not for long... ;) F 35 3 months

3  Depression/overweight from other Rx I lost a lot of weight on this med, nearly 50 pounds. It super jacked up my metabolism. I went from size 18 to size 10 fast. On the down side I couldn't stop the dry mouth no matter what I did/used. I actually got 'meth mouth' and my teeth broke and crumbled. My dentist tried hard to save them but after 2 years I had ALL of my teeth pulled and now wear dentures. A sad outcome. It made me thin, made my hair thin too. Lost my teeth. The doctor who put me on this med never warned me about what could happen. It's one thing to say on the package it causes dry mouth but the FDA should make them warn this could lead to tooth loss, which in my case it did! F 55 2 years

2  ADD I am sensitive to EVERY medication, and always get the weirdest side effects. I liked Concerta ok for my ADD, but the side effects were not worth it. I was constantly bloated and my digestion was not good while on this medication. When I increased my dose from 36mg to 54mg, the digestive distress increased and I developed a major fungal infection. Had to take Diflucan to combat it. My voice was also getting more hoarse. I recommend the medication because of the effectiveness of keeping me focused, but could not tolerate the side effects.  1  ADD Anxiety, extremely aggression, fatigue, headache, appetite changes, Blurry mind, nausea, vomiting, being forgetful, faster heart pumping especially after trying to eat or smoking cigarette, paranoia , dreaming about harming myself or others, mood swings, hallucinations, acting too much impulsively, irritation, feeling like zombie. Good to take if you want to focus your work or school but better to not take any medication, i think better to find put joyful things to do instead being pushed to do things what we don't like. This is because stimulate your nervous system and changing all your behavior which is open to debate, i had lots of side effects and can't tolerate Concerta or Ritalin. F 35 3 months

1  For college and work Loss of appetite, depressed, anxiety, acne, fast heart beat, nausea I started taking concerta for school about two years ago. I am currently trying to be done with it. It gives me horrible acne. It makes me depressed and have horrible anxiety. Which makes me smoke ciggerates which if I don't take the medication i can't stand the smell of them. I have never been so depressed in my life. It helped me in school but I can find other ways to concentrate. It gives me head aches and make me nauseous in the morning. I have a three year old and if I take my meds I have to wait till I come down to even be social with him. Cooking for him when I take it makes me sick to my stomach. I get head aches here and there. It's the devil stay away find alternative ways to coup with everyday task. Also any loud noises like music loudly irrates me and i just want to be left alone in my room plus it makes me feel tired but can't sleep. F 24 2 years

3  Diagnosed ADHD at the start (Fatigue, tiredness, change in appetite, loss of weight) I was taking Concerta XL when I was 14-16 to improve my concentration at school. I was being sent out of classes a lot and was generally a really rude person. At the start, I noticed that my appetite had changed a lot, I was also crying a lot to begin with. After about 4 months I had lost a fair amount of weight. I had noticed that my appetite started to pick up, but instead of me eating junk food (like I usually would) I would start to eat healthier foods? Which seemed a little odd. I believe this medication does work, I managed to go from getting E's and D's in most of my GCSE's to passing them all with C's and B's. However, I do believe that you need to want to change/help yourself for this medication, like all medications, to become effective. I'm now at University and I find it hard to believe that a few years ago I was failing mostly everything and didn't know what I'd be doing later in life. Also, i think it is important to identify that I also applied myself more. So if you're prescribed this medication, you also need to work with it for it to benefit you. I hope this information is beneficial for anybody who is reading. M 22 2 years
