After about 8 months I finally lost the weight that I had gained from ortho tri cyclen. Yasmin has made my periods very light, and I now rarely get cramps. However, I sometimes tend to have mood swings, and when I am anxous I take valerian (an herbal supplement). Once in a while I get nausea, but nothing compared to ortho tri cyclen. On ortho, I was nauseous practically every day and barely ever had any appetite, but that is not the case with yasmin. My mild acne has completely cleared up, and I don't ever break out any more (ortho made me break out worse than ever!). Before taking BCP, my periods were so irregular (every 2-3 weeks!). I have mild acne on my chin,jawline and around my mouth. I have read so many horror stories about yasmin and I am afraid to try it. Most of the acne comments I have read has been for really bad cystic acne and I was wondering if anyone on here as had mild hormonal acne and had luck with yasmin. Could you please email me I have been on other pills and they have made it worse and I really don't want anymore kids right now as I already have two. For several months, I tried Triphasic pills combining oestrogen and progesterone followed by Monophasic pills, then by the acne pill—Diane 35--all of which left me bloated and terribly uncomfortable. Then my relationship unraveled, ended, and there followed a lot of non-committal and non-binding encounters which coincided with the death, from AIDS, of several friends and acquaintances. So since then and until May 2006, I’ve sworn by the condom for protection from STDs and for birth control. I began taking Yasmin because of frequent spotting that left me feeling smelly and tired! Except a feeling of fatigue, headache, dizziness, tension that just don’t seem to want to go away, I love Yasmin. I like that it makes me EAT!! Or rather, when I’m on Yasmin, I have this funny pain/nauseous feeling in the pit my stomach that only goes away when I eat. I also had Chronic Lyme Disease, and have just now gotten off antibiotics (after being on strong antibiotics since 2001). This is the ONLY birth control pill thus far not to give me migraine and vomiting. Moved to arkansas, time for yearly checkup and the new doctor wanted to change me off high dose. Put me on Yasmin. I finished my last pack of Ovcon, started new pack of Yasmin, no breaks, no missed pills. On the ovcon i usually started my "period" on tuesday. Its now wed, on the yasmin of the inactive pills and still no "peroid" . Not pregnant. Is the the change in hormones ????? Still wating | F | 27 | 1 months | 5/24/2006 | 5 | Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome | The first month was terrible: nauseau, lots of crying and a roller coaster of emotions. Now things are much better! Aside from 1 instance of leg swelling and leg cramps every once in a while everything is back to normal and actually better than before! My doctor put on Yasmin to help control my PCOS and I think it's doing a great job. It's now a little easier to lose weight, my skin is improving lots, the hair on my head has stopped falling out at a rapid rate, the hair everywhere on my body is a lot finer and not so thick... the improvements go on and on! I'm so happy I'm on Yasmin now, I wish I would have been started on it sooner. | Okay... the sex drive thing is TRUE! But sometimes it's mind over matter and you can over come the lack of a sex drive. Just try to relax, do some meditation, have fun and bust out the lubricant if you have to. Hahaha!
