I had slight nausea the first couple of weeks on Yaz but then that went away. I also had that weird hunger feeling in the pit of my stomach described by someone else on this message board, but that went away too. (Can someone tell me when this new version came out...and shouldn't there be a separate message board for Yaz vs Yasmin if they are different?) I have felt some chest tightness and heart racing...but not sure if that's from a bad bronchitis-like cold I have right now. I don't feel depressed like I did on Nuvaring so that's a good sign, and my skin has been better. I do feel like my sex drive has decreased. I felt awesome the first 2 weeks, my skin cleared up to being perfect and I had lots of energy. I was ecstatic! But on the third week I went psycho. Couldn't get out of bed, hated everyone and cried for 4 straight days. Was too tired to even feed myself, my Mom had to come over and feed my kids :( So I threw out the pills 3 days before the end of the third week, and 2 days later was on the mend from my depressive episode. I decided to try them again the second month and it was much better - I survived the whole month without going psycho. I am finishing my third month now and I decided to stick with it - though I am monitoring myself for any possible psycho comebacks. The package insert does mention that depression is a possible temporary side effect. | I can now go more than a day before needing to wash my hair (scalp is much less oily), and my skin has completely cleared up thanks to Yasmin. Am still losing hair, but I think that takes a few months before seeing results. I am more susceptible to headaches, and my appetite has increased - I need to watch not to overeat. Have not gained weight. My periods are much lighter. Still have some PMS. I almost quit after the first couple of weeks because of the mood swings, but this pill quickly improved my complexion, so I decided to wait it out. The second month has been better with regard to mood swings; exercise helps to reduce the mood swings, as does vitamin B stress tabs and fish oil capsules. I still have some trouble concentrating during the day. Acne is totally under control on my face, but, oddly, this pill caused my back to break out, which is rare for me. My back seems to be clearing up now, but I've had to use a topical acne gel. I've had none of the libido problems described by other users. I'd be happier if my moods/concentration were the way they were before, but it has been my experience that every pill has an up side and a down side. I've tried 8 or 9 pills in my life, and Yasmin helps my complexion the most. My skin also seems softer and has a little more of a youthful glow than it had before (I'm 36). Everyone talked about it due to the fact that it would be less likely to cause weight gain. The pills I had been on were Necon, Ortho Cyclen, and Desogen. I couldnt seem to ever lose weight and keep it off and it was so frustrating. I tried every new fad diet that had ever hit the news with no luck. This Yasmin turned into a miracle for me. I rapidly lost 20 pounds and have kept it off the whole 2 years. Ive lost an extra 10 more lately. I just dont seem to crave food like I use to on the other pills. | I am fixen to start the new Yaz thats the lower dose form of yasmin due to the fact that I have problems with headaches during the placebo week on pills. Granted yes, the acne was annoying, but it didn't actually effect my sex drive, and thus far has been the best cramp control I've found. I switched to OTC Lo to try to clear up the acne, and I can't stand it (gas, bloating, decreased sex drive, increase appetite, mood swings, breast tenderness swelling, my breasts won't fit in my bras -_-). I'll be switching back after this cycle. For those having trouble with their b/c, everyone has different body chemistry! Keep that in mind when you start *any* medication, if you feel like your life/health/mood/anything is going to hell, *EVALUATE WHAT YOU'RE TAKING!* I've had medications mess me up more than men, friends, relatives, and the economy, all put together. O_o No harm in trying, but keep a journal of how you felt before you startd, and how you feel progressively, what symptoms you notice, hell, things you don't notice. Stuff builds up.
