Which made me feel horrible. I was emotionally unstable and would often take things that were being said in a different context (usually took offense to EVERYTHING). I stopped taking it on the grounds that I was not active sexually and I felt that it was altering my personality. Fast forward to 08/2011. I began taking Yasmin as I began a new relationship. My boyfriend and I both decided that birth control was the option for us, as I'm allergic to latex. Within the firSt two weeks of taking Yasmin I have experienced the EXACT side effects as with Yaz. My doctor assured me that Yasmin was not the cause of my low sex drive (extreeeeeeemmmely low smh) depressive behaviors as well as my anxiety (not to mention my excessive brain farts which has become a hindrance being as though I'm in Grad school). Since being on this God forsaken pill, I have put my boyfriend thru all types of hell. Idk how or why he deals with it. But he promises that we will get thru this rough patch. I do have a warning for some of you young ladies who are considering Yaz, Yasmin or any type of hormonal birth control. Get a full understanding of the drug you will be putting in your body. I know its easy to trust our doctors because it is their job to know about these drugs and side effects. Vous me direz, rien à voir mais si vous tapez dans wikipédia "drospirénone" vous obttenez aucun résultat alors que beaucoup de personnes étant renseigné sur le sujet s'en inquiète ... De plus, les génycologues aussi compétante soit elle ne prévienne aucunement des effets indésirables important de Jasmine, elle font même de Jasmine et de Yaz les meilleures pillules !! Dans une semaine je change de pillule et je ne sais toujours pas quoi prendre car je n'ai pas envie de prendre du poid alors je me rensseigne tant et plus mais TOUTES les pillules sont potentiellement dangereusess seulement certaines plus que d'autres comme Yaz et Yasmin qui j'espère ne serront plus commercialisées le plus taux possible car j'insiste que le laboratoire qui les fabrique c'est à dire Bayer Santé a déjà eut plusieurs poursuites judiciaires sur d'autres médicaments . L'effet "dépression" est très ressenti je peut vous le garantir sachant que tout les témoignages pratiquement que j'ai pu lire parle de cet effet . I thought it was the initial starting of a new contraceptive but this is too excesive. I suffer from Nausea, pins and needles in my hands and feet, bloated stomach and terrible pelvic cramps. Shoulder pains and hair loss, constantly hungry and never feeling full. Frequent migraines and exhaustion and my favorite - the emotional instability. Crying for no reason at all. It's been a nightmare and I'm stopping this pill today. I've stuck it out long enough and still no relief from these symptoms... I am praying so hard that they find something because everyday im feeling this way. I feel full a lot and when I actually know its time to eat I can only have a few bites and Im done. I just really hope Im not like this forever. I defiantly would not reccomend this medicine because it could damage you forever. It even made a lady go blind and i would never take that chance of risking anything like that. This medicine shouldnt even be in the market. Please keep me in your prayers that its nothing serious and I could be back to being 110 percent again. This is the second time i have been on yasmin, i took it a couple of years ago for birth control, and the first few months i was fine with it. But about 4 months in to taking the pill i began to suffer from numb legs and extremely painful stomach cramps. I found i had a smaller appetite and it cleared up spots dramatically. I recently started taking the pill again, and I've found i have had no really bad side effects yet, however my appetite has really messed up, i can feel starving one day and eat loads and then the next day the thought can make me feel sick. also i have found it hasn't really affected my skin as of yet. I know it takes a while for side affects to kick in but i pretty much started to notice the side effects immediately the first i was prescribed this pill. The main thing is though i feel i can completely rely on it, i have not missed one period while taking the pill, and have not been caught pregnant yet :) One major thing i have noticed is my emotions, as a teenager i obviously experience mood swings a lot, but i have found i can control my temper a lot better on the pill. | F | 16 | 2 months 1X day | 10/23/2011 | 5 | hormonal imbalance and birth contro | Insomnia, anxiety, nausea, dizziness and | I feel like I never get full so I'm always hungry but yet I don't have an appetite to eat anything. I started having mild circulation problems pretty early on. However, I had had frostbite so I did not link the problems to the drug. By the time I stopped taking it, my fingers and toes were turning blue/purple (yes I really mean solid blue) and numb in temps as warm as mid 60 degrees F. My fingers and toes would turn white and numb in temps as warm as 80-90 degrees F, and inconsistently. Sometimes it would happen when I was just sitting or walking round the house, but other times it would happen when I was being severally active. Often if it was an aerobic work out my fingers and toes would go completely numb within a couple seconds and would take forever to come back to normal. If my fingers and toes were exposed to actual cold weather(winter in Indiana) then they would stay numb for hours or all day. My husband had a vasectomy several years ago, but I am taking this pill to control symptoms of peri-menopause (irregular bleeding and thinning hair). I was very concerned about the side effects - particularly blood clotting that I'm aware is associated with this form of birth control. My gyno convinced me that If I have not had a history of blood clotting and had no issues during my two pregnancies, I should not be concerned. So far, I've felt wonderful and sex drive is way up (26-year marriage). Maybe negative things will take place as I remain on it for an extended length of time - but for now it is working very well for me. By the way, I have been on many varieties of the earlier types of birth control back in the early 80's - they came with many side afffects - many of my friends could not even take them. | F | 46 | 1 months 1X day | 8/1/2011 | 2 | PMDD | Severe agitation, insomnia. | I started taking Yasmin because all the other birth control pills I had tried made me feel horrible. And for the first few months, it worked! With no side effects! Periods went away, and PMDD disappeared with them. I even experienced the sense of "well-being" touted in the ads for it. I was so happy. Then after about 4 or 5 months, I started to notice agitation so severe that I'd be standing in front of my class (I'm a teacher) and wonder if I were going to have a panic attack. So I stopped taking it, and the agitation disappeared, but my periods, and the PMDD, resumed. For the next two years, I kept trying it over and over again because it worked so well for my PMDD, but each time, I'd have to stop within just 10 days because the agitation would become so severe. When it started causing insomnia too, I stopped for good.
