| 5 | Asthma | None | I have tried many maintenance inhalers, Advair has been the most effective at controller my asthma. | F | 36 | 2 years 250/50 2X D | 5/3/2013 | 4 | Asthma | More prone to infections. | Very effective. Eliminated the need for a rescue inhaler. Just watch for side effects and adjust your dosage level accordingly to what your body can handle. | M | 51 | 9 months 100/50 2X D | 1/18/2013 | 3 | allergy and exerxised induced asthm | Dentist told me that my teeth were bad, because I was drinking too much coke. I've been off of coke for a year, and I am having even worse problems with my teeth now. I have also gained 40 pounds since starting advair. I am going to go talk to my doctor next week to see about changing. Other than that, it has worked wonderfully. | F | 34 | 6 years 100/50 | 11/22/2012 | 3 | COPD | Bloating - constipation. Leg cramps. Dry mouth. | Bloating in abdominal area. Constipation accompanied with cramps if not following a fibre enriched diet. Cramps in legs, mostly at night. Dry mouth, but found rinising and brushing teeth afterward eliminated symptom. As far as weight gain goes, the answer is no. I am 65 years old and weigh in at 124 lbs. P.S: Gave up smoking years ago. | F | 65 | 2 years 50 mg 2X D | 11/21/2012 | 5 | COPD | None, I swear everyone who comments on this board looks up their drug on the internet and picks a side effect, It is impossible to gain 60lbs in a month you people are crazy.or to get burning thrush after 2 inhalations yeast infections do not grow that fast. | 6 years 250/500 2X D | 10/29/2012 | 5 | copd bronchiectasis | dry mouth, constipation, occasional dizziness | was on symbicort, spiriva, and daliresp before...not much improvement in shortness of breath. Tried stronger dose of Advair first and side effects were horrible so doc suggested trying the lower dose. Works well, side affects are manageable. | M | 56 | 90 days 50 mg 2X D | 10/26/2012 | 1 | asthma | weakened teeth enamel,70 pounds weight gain, weakened eye sight, sleepiness, depression | it wrecked my life,at first i thought i found what i have wanted my whole life.I could breath again i felt energy and like i could live again.i had 20/20 vision never and cavities I mean never not even as a child.I was always about 130 at the most in weight no i cant move under 190 no matter what i do i am stuck with the weight.6 months off and my life is still messed up.i have no idea how to make myself better now.this med and most other asthma meds need taken off the market.I refuse to do more then take an allergy pill and a black cup of coffee.i am disgusted in the fact doctors give this out and when you tell them the med did this to you they say just eat better it can't be advair. | F | 34 | 5 years 250 1X D | 10/2/2012 | 5 | asthma | none | love it, no problems, only complaint is the cost -- with it I just don't have asthma symptoms | F | 62 | 6 years 100/50 2X D | 4/19/2012 | 1 | acid-reflux induced asthma | major weight gain, asthma worse if dose missed | Quitting Advair can be rough for the first few days, but it DOES get better. I've learned from my own experience that Advair creates a dependency scenario, where if you stop taking it your symptoms get worse than ever--but only for a few days, if you can stick it out. I was put on Advair twice a day for acid reflux-related asthma. I decided to quit it cold turkey, as I gained a lot of weight from the steroids and have never weighed so much in my life. The day after I quit, I got really bad withdrawal symptoms--particularly, my asthma became the WORST it's ever been in my life. My chest felt as if it had concrete poured into it. It got so bad that I was waking up every couple of hours and couldn't get any sleep. I was tempted to go back on the Advair, as I was using my albuterol inhaler every two hours, but I kept reminding myself that it was just the Advair causing extreme withdrawal symptoms and that it would get better. As I was determined to stick it out and quit the steroids, I endured three days of terrible withdrawal symptoms. Now, I'm happy to say that I'm no longer dependent on Advair and I'm back to my normal self. After about 3 days of breathing hell (which is known as "rebound inflammation"), everything normalized and I only use my albuterol as needed. | F | 40 | 30 days 250 mg 2X D | 4/4/2012 | 1 | Asthma | At first I thought it wasa Miracle drug. Yea miracle I'm still alive .. This medicine is horrible and shouldbe taken off the market .. I rinsed my mouth out still got thrush all the time on it , my glands I. My throat were swollen , I couldn't breath ,thinking it was the outdoor allergies . I found this site reasearched this mess and this is the Monster that's been killing me . I stopped it no taper just stopped ...singuliar is the same thing I have bad asthma but not as bad as I thought .. When I stopped this the amount of stuff I was coughing up out of my lungs was unreal ..ease research this stuff I'm stll not 100% better ..this stuff does not deserve a ace on a shelf it's horrible .. To many side effects .. | F | 42 | 6 months 50mg | 4/3/2012 | 1 | asthma/bronchospasms | After only two huffs during a twelve hour period, developed raging thrush - nasty, painful. | This stuff is extremely expensive. It was a shame to throw away 58/60ths of the contents, but there was no way that I could use it and no one I know uses Advair. | M | 55 | 1 days 100/50 1X D | 2/11/2012 | 5 | Asthma | No side effects | F | 69 | 3 years 2X D | 2/8/2012 | 2 | Life long Asthma | Heart palpitations, Tachycardia, Severe Weight Gain, Worsening Asthma, Asthma Sensitivity, Dry Mouth, Dependency, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts | I was given this medicine and for the first month or two it was a miracle. Then the weight gain started and I didn't correlate the problem to the Advair. I went from 130 lbs up to 215 at my highest even with eating good and exercising. My asthma was well controlled and then started declining after taking the drug I couldn't breathe. I started getting rapid heart rates and palpitations that continued even after discontinuing the drug. Upon discontinuing I was given Flovent 110 which worked like a charm after I got over the initial Asthma hypersensitivty that the Advair caused. Within a couple years and even with a pregnancy I went from 215 down to 110 lbs, my normal body weight for my height/size. I will never take Advair again. If this drug works for you without dangerous side effects that is awesome, but for me it didn't :( | F | 27 | 2 years up 250/50 2X D | 1/25/2012 | 1 | asthma | shaking, heart palpatations, sore throat, flushed face | did not help my asthma. singular works much better | F | 11 | 1 days one puff 2X D | 1/2/2012 | 5 | Asthma | This really helped out my asthma. I noticed an immediate effect. It slightly increased my appetite, which I didn't mind. The only reason I am not on it now is because it contains an LABD, which can cause heart failure. At my request, my allergy doctor switched me to Flovent instead (which only has a corticosteroid and not an LABD). | LABD - Long Acting Bronchodilator. An LABD can cause heart failure, so I had my allergy doctor switch me to Flovent instead. Advair Discus has both an LABD and a corticosteroid. | M | 49 | 7 years 250/50 2X D | 10/25/2011 | 3 | asthma | It worked great at first and then I started getting weird heart palpitations... needless to say I found out Advair HAS BEEN RECALLED YEAR AFTER YEAR BECAUSE OF IT'S BLACK BOX WARNING OF SUDDEN DEATH. No Thanks. I went back to trying other methods like juicing for asthma, and natural remedies. To date the safest asthma meds I've found are Flovent and Pulmicort... which isn't saying alot as they all have side effects. :/ GET HEALTHY FROM THE INSIDE OUT IS THE BEST ANSWER. Also try tips from Dr's that would prefer natural meds. Good health to all. | F | 37 | 3 months 1X D | 9/17/2011 | 5 | Asthma | None, | It has been an unbelievable med. I take it along with Spiriva and Singulair. Have had very little asthma. | M | 69 | 10 years 1X D | 7/25/2011 | 5 | Asthma | Basically no side effects, only a few times slight candida, but it goes away | I am very happy with this medication. It has kept my asthma under control, and I live a 'normal' life | M | 49 | 3 years 100/50 1X D | 6/24/2011 | 3 | asthama / sarcoidosis | Advair appears to have helped me BUT if the inhaler is out of medicine it still puffs so if I don't put my glasses on and read the tiny numbers of doses left on the back I can and have run out which resuts in ROID RAGE for me and hell for those around me. | M | 54 | 100 2X D | 5/29/2011 | 5 | Asthma | Weakened enamel. I have had 3 full crowns and an implant since taking this. One day I woke up and literally had a crumbled tooth in my mouth. My dentist says my hygiene is good and the chemicals in inhalers are doing damage. I rinse thoroughly after use now. My teeth have been in good condition for the past two years. | I cannot get a good night sleep without Advair. If I don't take it I wake up wheezing. It's been very helpful for me while living with asthma. I recommended it to my father-in-law and he loves it too. | F | 30 | 7 years 250 1X D | 4/6/2011 | 5 | Asthma | None so far. | My pack is actually 250/50. I was using my rescue inhaler at least 8-10 times per day. The evening I took my first inhalation of Advair it was SUCH a relief! I slept the entire night without using my rescue inhaler! Now I've been on it for over a week and I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to use my rescue inhaler! Advair has been a BLESSING to me! | F | 48 | 10 days 1 puff 2X D | 4/6/2011 | 3 | asthma | racing heart | Worked fine for preventing asthma attacks, but the cardiac side effects were scary and potentially dangerous | M | 58 | 3 months strd dose 1X D | 3/6/2011 | 5 | asthma | none | i had so many days of missed school before advair, not anymore 1 | M | 20 | 365 days 100/50 2X D | 12/26/2010 | 4 | asthma | Mild and occasional foot cramps. | Actually taking 250/50 BID and it helps keep my asthma in better control. Nothing cures asthma and there will always be exacerbations for most of us, but this helps day to day and also improves symptoms so I can go camping and hiking. | M | 53 | 2 years 250/50 2X D | 12/7/2010 | 2 | Prescribed for lung irritation | Accelerating symptoms of tightness in chest, "racing heart", difficulty taking a breath, sores developing on tongue, swelling in throat, difficulty swallowing (had to discontinue taking other medicines as they would not go down), diminished strength, difficulty walking, unable to leave home. | In two weeks I changed from being able to leave my house to shop briefly, perform quick errands, go out to eat and other tasks to being unable to leave my home except for important medical appointments. I don't know whether my developing problems resulted from inhaling the vitamin (underwent bronchoscopy for removal) or from using Advair but the first week after the medical procedure I was not using Advair and was recovering much better. I am not being treated for Asthma or COPD problems, only a lung irritation due to vitamin residue remaining in my lungs! I would not advise anyone NOT to take this medicine if it truly will help them, as many people do not experience side effects, but hope doctors will listen to those who have real difficulty, since my doctors don't seem to want to listen to me. | F | 63 | 14 days 100/50 2X D | 12/4/2010 | 3 | wheezing, exercize induced asthma | heart palpatations, extreme bruising, any small bump causes bruising that would take months to go away, tongue swollen so bad could barely swallow when taking more than 1 dose a day | Had asked the dr why I kept on bruising so bad. No idea then checked the side effects and there it was. Went for accupunture and taking vitamin K to help heal the bruises but old marks still there . Wish there was something else to take . Am worried my asthma will get worse and stuck taking this drug. | F | 52 | 5 years 1X D | 11/28/2010 | 3 | 100/50 | Major weight gain and panic attacks. | It has helped me with my asthma, but now I have to take medication for my panic attacks. I can exercise and eat right, but not able to lose weight. I am going to try and stop using Advair. I'm on day 3 without it and my asthma has gotten worse. It seems as if my lungs are addicted to this drug. My panic attacks are so bad I have trouble driving now; I never had a panic attack until I started taking this drug. Never thought about it being linked to Advair, makes since now! | F | 42 | 8 years 1X D | 11/26/2010 | 1 | nighttime asthma trouble sleeping | Severe anxiety depression. adrenal suppression. worsening asthma symptoms. | I would not suggest anyone take this medication- especially children. I became dependent on it ( addicted) and now have to take prednisone and albuterol everyday. I dont know if i will ever be the same again. My asthma was tolerable before i started advair I could live my life walk around outside , now i cant leave my house. I need the albuterol constantly. I told my doctor about the side effects and she wants to put me back on the advair. My life is over i am totally dependent on it. | F | 23 | 2 years 1X D | 11/7/2010 | 5 | Asthma | None. That I am aware of... | Works great for me. Inhale 1x a day, no asthma problems at all. | M | 42 | 7 years 100/50 1X D | 10/21/2010 | 5 | Asthma | None serious. Perhaps a bit of irregular heart beats at times | It has completely cleared my asthma with very few side effects. I can live a perfectly normal life, and I am happy about it. | M | 49 | 3 years 250 1X D | 10/7/2010 | 5 | Asthma | None | I've been taking this discus for over five years now, and I cannot say just how much it has helped improve the quality of my life. Because of it, I can breathe like a normal person again and actually play sports without having to use a rescue inhaler. I wish they'd had this stuff when I was a kid. I haven't had any of the severe or even mild side effects that other people have listed here. I do know that I will probably never be able to get off this medicine, though, without a suitable replacement drug; I can feel the difference in my breathing when I miss even one dose, let alone try to go cold turkey. | M | 23 | 5 years 2X D | 9/25/2010 | 4 | COPD | (Took on and off for 8+ years)Worked great for years...almost DIED 3 times with pneumonia...still took Advair until this past year after warning stating pneumonia risk...which my doctor shrugged off...now I get pneumonia at least once a year. My doctor still prescribes. | I found myself taking a few puffs now and again...(not really knowing if Advair caused my pneumonia)but it scares me to think maybe it did so I finally through it away! I think you should think twice before taking Advair if you've had pneumonia. | F | 47 | 5 years 250/50 2X D | 9/22/2010 | 1 | Asthma | Advair gave me chest pains when using not all the time but occasionally. Once I quit Avdair I have not had these chest pains. Advair costs too much also I found when I switched to an alternative GENERIC. I found that Budesonide inhalation suspension along with a followed albuterol dose works as well or better than Advair did with out the side affects. It was a pain to get it prescribed as the Doctors are on the take with the brand name pharms! | This stuff should be researched further I believe it is unsafe for some users! | M | 48 | 8 months 250/50 2X D | 8/16/2010 | 5 | Severe Asthma | None | Advair has saved my life. I've had asthma since I was 3. As an adult I spent weeks in the hospital getting off of 60 mg/day of prednisone and was then sent to National Jewish hospital in Denver. I was on 13 prescriptions at the time. They got me turned around and now I use only Advair and on the rare occasion my albuterol inhaler. I know it can have bad side effects for some, but for me it literally gave me my life back. | F | 55 | 9 years 100/50 2X D | 7/9/2010 | 2 | COPD | Extensive Weight gain that even a 1 year less than 1200 calorie diet and a daily three mile walk/run/hike could not stop. Horrible withdrawals when I tried to go off the medicine that I did not recognize as associated with Advair until my daughter said I acted like I had "roid rage," something I had never even heard of--my symptoms included thoughts of suicide, severe anger and anxiety, and the list goes on. I talked to my pulmonary doctor who assured me I did not know what I was talking about, that I did not gain the weight after being on Advair from Advair, nor did I experience withdrawal problems because the steroids in Advair are not "those kind" of steroids. Just because a doctor says it does not mean he/she knows anything about the medicine prescribed. | I thing I now have to be on this for life since I am now too scared to try going off of it. I do not know what I am going to do about my weight. I work out five days a week, am an a dot.fit program that I track my 1100 calories a day on, and am with a trainer. Frankly, I think my metabolism is toast and even though I can breath better, the rest of my body is failing. Now I wonder, what's next, kidneys or liver? | F | 48 | 1.5 years 1X D | 6/28/2010 | 5 | Asthma | Dry mouth. | This has worked wonders for me. I would go through an albuterol inhaler every month. After starting advair 6 years ago i've used a total of 7 albuterol inhalers. My last expired before I used it. I know a lot of people have had serious problems with this medication but it's helped me achieve a quality of life I didn't have for 22 years. I can exercise and deal with it much easier now, I don't get short of breath walking up stairs either, it's wonderful. | M | 28 | 6 years 100/50 2X D | 6/24/2010 | 4 | allergy triggered asthma | Hot flashes, weight gain and difficulty in losing weight. When combined with nasal steriod, I experienced steroid psychosis. | Advair does work to clear out lungs and reduce allergy symptoms, but I would be cautious of long term use, especially by children (steriod psychosis). I currently use once a day only during allergy season (May - October). Seems to control symptoms while minimizing side effects. I wish there was an effective NON-STEROIDAL treatment for asthma. | F | 47 | 5 years 500/50 1X D | 6/20/2010 | 1 | Asthma | -Caused viral infections leading to pneumonia, permanent lung damage -Contains Salmuterol which can cause viral infection and asthma related DEATH; admitted and recorded side effects. | I have had asthma my entire life, ranging from severe to moderate. Albuterol wasn't working alone, and after several dozen trips to the ER, I was prescribed Advair and Singular. A few weeks after starting these, I contracted a bronchial virus. Antibiotics did nothing to help. After the first 2 months, it had gotten so bad I ended up in the ER again. Chest X-rays showed my lungs were literally covered in spots of bacteria. I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Since then, I have tried almost every antibiotic available that doesn't make me vomit horribly, but nothing has helped. Several doctors have told me there is nothing more I can do, the bacteria is too persistant because I went so long without treatment. The pneumonia eventually went away on its own, but nearly took my life, and left me with chronic bronchitis. It wasn't until just recently that I discovered both drugs contain Salmeterol. The company that created Salmeterol ADMITS that it "may cause viral infection and asthma related DEATH." They use the actual word 'death.' In fact, you will hear that exact statement listed in side effects. A medicine that has the ability to KILL YOU from taking normally, should not be on the market. Because of Advair and Singular, I have had chronic, almost constant bronchitis and sinus infections for nearly 10 years. I nearly died three times from pneumonia caused by this product. On top of all of that, my asthma has gotten worse. Way to go, GSK, you ruined my life. | F | 25 | 2 months 2X D | 6/18/2010 | 2 | "Sensitive Lungs" or Light Asthma | Moodiness, uncontrollable feelings. Short temper. Appetite constant. | At about 3.5 years old our daughter was diagnosed with what doctors called "Light Asthma". If she got a cold, and got over the cold, she coughed constantly. A dry hacky cough. Her lungs would just not shut down. Singulair worked BUT it had side effects we didn't like. As she got older the doctor switched her to Advair. We only needed a puff or two to do the trick and then we were done. Well, recently, for some reason she has needed to take it every day for a month. She just couldn't get over her cold/cough. She got over the cold, cough continued, thus more Advair (with Albuterol inhaler). We saw our 8 year old daughter turn into an emotional wreck. She didn't want to participate in activities. Basically just wanted to sit on the couch and watch TV. When Daddy went to work, she just about fell apart emotionally saying she would miss him, and she would hug him and not let go. Overly dramatic and emotional. She loves her Daddy but this was as if he was going off to War and never to be seen again types of emotion. Just the slightest thing would set her off emotionally both sad types of emotions and angry types of emotions. I am on day 3 of taking Advair away. Yes, still dry coughs, but her NORMAL self is returning slowly. Her appetite is decreasing. YES, ADVAIR does work, but the side effects in our opinion are not worth it if you have to use it long term (every day). We are trying to teach her some relaxation techniques to help with the cough. We know it isn't anyth | F | 45 | 1 months 100/50 2X D | 6/16/2010 | 3 | asthma | cramping in feet, EXTREME itch all over. | Advair always seemed to help my asthma. I've had other health issues while on the advair that I really didn't even connect to advair usage. I get cramps in my feet, odd, i know but now I'm thinking it might be because of the advair. The worst thing that happens recently is an extreme itch all over my body. it started on my legs and chest, then eventually went to my stomach, arms, back & butt. Since I've had this for months, I've tried treatments for various things with nothing working or even helping at all. The only thing I can think of is that Advair switched something in the ingredients. I think it was right around the time they switched packaging (from the purple foil to the silver foil) I've been weaning myself off the advair and have noticed things getting slightly better. I wonder if they really did change anything and wish drug companies would inform their clients of such changes. | F | 30 | 8 years 250/50 2X D | 5/11/2010 | 1 | cough variant asthma | Itchy rash all over body | I'm allergic to Dairy products and there is Lactose powder in the medication. I stopped the Advair, still use a rescue inhaler and am much more careful with my diet that triggers many of my episodes | F | 47 | 4 months 1 puff 3X D | 4/13/2010 | 3 | acute asthma | Since the beginning I have experienced heart palpatations. They have also turned into panic attacts which I have never had in my life. I have also had nausea since the beginning but it has gotten to the point where I cant move in the morning because the feeling of going to throw up is so strong. The other side effect is SEVERE candida in my whole body but especially vaginally. I have treated the candida and yeast infections over and over to no avail. I dont eat any carbs or sugars as it makes the candida even worse...if thats possible. | I has helped get me off my rescue inhaler which I formerly used 10 to 12 times a day. But only works to a certain point. If it is cold out or my allergies are really bad I still have to use my rescue inhaler but now that Im on Advair the rescue inhaler doesnt work immediately like it used to. | F | 32 | 3.5 years 250/50 2X D | 3/24/2010 | 1 | I took Advair daily for over 3 years for mild COPD and it seemed to help, I didn't get so short of breath going up steps etc. But when I went in the hospital for a knee replacement I suddenly woke up violently sick & nauseated in the night. The nurse took my vitals and quickly there were half a dozen people in the room giving me oxygen, meds, checking blood pressure. I was conscious and heard the nurse calling out my BP, which went down to 70/20 before starting up again. They said I had pneumonia and sent me to the ICU, where I recovered. I'm pretty sure I would have died had I not been right there in the hospital when all this happened. | Later I read up on Advair, about how two of the "rare" side effects are pneumonia and sudden death! Needless to say, I never took any more Advair. I'm on Spiriva now which seems to be doing just as much for me, and is much safer. | F | 74 | 1X D | 3/12/2010 History | 5 | ASTHMA CONTROL | NONE | M | 83 | 5 years 1X D | 2/26/2010 | 1 | asthma | sore throat, thrush. Altho am having problems with other inhalers as well. | Did not take it long enough to see if it was effective | F | 52 | 7 days | 1/18/2010 | 5 | Severe Asthma | Thrush in my throat (yeast infection). It only happens from time to time, but I was prescribed Diflucan to help with that side effect, so it's manageable | Back 5 years ago I was super sick with bronchitis and had a hard time kicking the bug with even antibiotics/prednisone. I ended up going to urgent care where the dr prescribed me Advair. After taking that I was able to finally get better. I was sick for 3 entire months before that. Also, when I'm feeling a cold come on (typically get bronchitis if a cold goes too far) I make sure to take extra (instead of only one does in the am...take one more dose in the pm.) I also recommended it to my aunt who also has severe asthma. She, too, has had great success. :) | F | 38 | 5 years | 1/13/2010 | 1 | asthma | It ruined all my teeth. Within 9 months from the time I started taking it, I started experiencing facial nerve pain. Horrible, agonizing pain. Turns out it was directly related to my rotten teeth, which were perfectly healthy when I first started taking Advair It rotted them from the inside out and they had to be pulled. Please be cautious about this drug. | F | 52 | 15 months | 1/12/2010 | 4 | asthma | My12 year old daughter has been on advair n singular for over 10 years. I believe the combination has prevented numerous trips to the hospital. My only concern has been her massive weight gain. She is currently at 215#'s She eats moderately n we try 2 eat out once a week. Junk food is rare at home. We've joined a gym, but she can't seem 2 lose the weight. Has anyone found a replacement 4 advair with less side effects. Children can/have been very mean 2 her bc of her weight. | Will it b a good idea to cut down her doses to every other day? | F | 12 | 10 years | 1/3/2010 | 1 | copd | I used Advair for one month. I had a sore throat, hoarseness, ache in my bones, particularly in my right hip. I also had two trips to the ER due to atrial fibrillation. | I had a headache upon awakening, felt nauseous all of the time, and had hot flashes. I will not take this medicine any more. | F | 63 | 30 days | 12/31/2009 | 3 | bronchitis | Advair was useful in opening up my bronchi when my bronchitis was acute. However, the side effects after three weeks of use were very uncomfortable. My voice became extremely hoarse. I still can't speak correctly.I hope my voice returns to normal someday. My vocal chords were irritated and burned and they still are burning. It also removed potassium from my system and I experienced muscle cramping at night in my legs. Not fun. | I am discontinuing taking Advair in spite of my doctor's recommendation that I continue. My bronchitis is over and I see no reason to continue to torture myself. | F | 66 | 30 days | 12/30/2009 | 3 | Asthma | Rapid heartbeat, heart palpitations | Advair really cleared my asthma, it was like I didn't have it at all when I was taking it. However the side effects were hard to handle, it would feel like my heart was beating out of my chest at times, and often I would have palpitations that were very scary. Also, it was hard for me to taper off of this medication without side effects worsening. After I told my doctor I couldn't take advair anymore she eventually put me on Flovent (like advair WITHOUT salmeterol) which makes me think it was the salmeterol in advair which causes these problems. | F | 21 | 2 months | 12/20/2009 | 4 | asthma | no side effects | my son takes this med. really well. no fighting, no aggression other than normal 2yr old fits.. & i know the difference he was taking singulair for a month & it was the most difficult month of our lives.. i'm so glad to have my sweet lil boy back... | M | 2 | 14 days | 12/16/2009 | 2 | asthma | atrial fibrilation | After two weeks of being on Advair my heart went into a fib and has not come back to a normal rhythm. It's been 10 days now. I stopped taking Advair yesterday. Let's hope thing return to normal | M | 60 | 24 days | 12/14/2009 | 1 | copd | rapid heart beat (tachicardia), tight chest, resultant coughs, insomnia, depresion, shortness of breath | For someone without sever breathing problems this drug should not be used. I have never take a drug with such terrible side effects. | M | 65 | 30 days | 12/6/2009 | 3 | C.O.P.D. | all over joint & body pain, severe knee pain,& weight gain. | this medication works real well to help you breathe, but the side effects of pain are bad, ive taken advair 100/50 on & off for 6 yrs. its also very hard to get off of, i think they put something in it to keep you on it. | F | 49 | 6 years | 12/4/2009 | 5 | Asthma | None | I’ve been on this drug for over ten years. I was initially prescribed 2 times a day, but I was able to reduce to 1 a few years ago. I notice when I forget to take it, but when I'm on it my asthma is well under control. | M | 27 | 10 years | 10/19/2009 | 1 | asthma | Advair gave me a very fast irregular heartbeat. It felt like I was having a heart attack. I also lost my appetite completely which led to me feeling very weak. I was light headed and sick to my stomach. | it's a very harsh drug. | F | 25 | 3 weeks | 9/13/2009 | 3 | Asthma | Yeast infections, joint pain, heart palpitations | Been taking Advair for 2 years and have battled chronic yeast infections throughout my body ever since. Also have recently developed joint pain in my upper body. My asthma is lightyears better though. Trying to find another effective medication to replace Advair now. | F | 29 | 2 years | 9/11/2009 | 1 | persistent cough after URI | Severe hip joint and bone pain. IM morphine and Phenergan didn't even touch the pain, I was given IM toradol and Valium for muscles spasms before I could even lie down and get some rest. I am not on any analgesics for anyother reason, so the amt of medication I needed was huge for this issue. The ER dr thought it was my age, or something I did at work. I am a L&D nurse and actually outwork gals 1/2 my age so I knew it was not that. This is not a drug I'd recommend to anyone. While it did help quiet the coughing, far too significant of a side effect requiring an ER visit to make it worth taking. | F | 53 | 6 days | 9/11/2009 | 1 | asthma | yeast infection in throat, and rest of digestive track, weight gain, shakes. | Worked great on my asthma, was like I did not have it. No way to alleviate side effects (brushed/rinsed) and they were making me very very ill. Took the doc's forever to associate symptoms with the drug. Been off it for almost a year now and my body has still not gotten to normal. | F | 28 | 2 years | 6/30/2009 |
