1  Osteoarthritis in knee increased blood pressure ( 25+ over normal), severe depression with thoughts of self harm, feelings of hopelessness and periods of uncontrollable crying. I was so depressed I couldn't even call the doctor out of fear I wouldn't be able to stop crying long enough to talk to him. I didn't want him to think I was a wimp. F 69 12 days

1  Back/nerve injury My doctor prescribed me this for nerve pain due to an injury. I stopped taking it a couple days ago. I can't stop crying, have been severely depressed, had full on meltdowns multiple times at work and even have had thoughts of killing myself which isn't like me. I'd much rather deal with the pain than feel like this all the time. F 34 14 days

1  joint paint in toe depressed, anxiety, lethargic, moody, lots of crying. I will not take this drug any longer, I finally put 2 & 2 together and figured out it had to be meloxicam. I am not normally feeling this way, and once the drug had worn off, I started feeling like myself again. F 61

1  Cervical neck stenosis Felt like I was going to pass out every time i stood up. Was dizzy non stop. Cried all the time which isn't like me at all. Was cold all the time. I thought the dizziness and feeling faint was from my neck. But I stopped taking the pill and feel 95% better. F 41 7 days

1  Neck and shoulder pain Took this for neck and shoulder inflammation. After three weeks of taking it I started having severe panic attacks, anxiety, horrible head aches, chills and body shakes. I missed out on so much work and was too nervous to drive. Started having nightmares and snapping at my fiancee for no reason. I asked my doctor about these symptoms to see if they were related to this drug but he wasn't convinced. I stopped taking them anyways because I can't live like this. Hopefully this is the answer. Didn't really a notice a difference in pain level by taking them F 33 1 months

1  Cervical spine and shoulder pain At first I thought I was crazy for the thoughts and feelings I have had in the past 48 hours, but now I'm discovering here that I'm not. I started taking Meloxicam yesterday. I had the creepiest, darkest, out of body type dream last night that I can't shake today. This morning I took another dose and within an hour I started having anxiety, angry thoughts, a sweaty cold feeling and worse of all imagining drinking a whole bottle of alcohol to kill myself. This is not normal for me at all. I shared this all with my husband so he would know what's going on. I've been crying and feel like things aren't going to be ok. Also I feel confused and unable to follow a conversation before forgetting what was being talked about. This feels scary. I left a message for the doctors office, but I've decided I can't keep taking this drug. I've not had any pain relief yet after 2 days. F 46 2 days

1  Hip and back pain Depression, low motivation, loss of desire. Racing heart. Feeling like a child separated from my parents in a crowded mall (50 year old flashback). And stomach pain feeling of acid in gut. Helps the pain, but not worth it. My doctor wanted me to take this even though I wasn't in that much pain. For me, ibuprofen is a better choice. M 56 5 days

1  Back pain/potential arthritis Extreme fatigue, low reaction times (not comfortable driving on this), nightmares, mood swings It helped with pain somewhat, but the nightmares, low reaction times, and mood symptoms were very unpleasant and I am not comfortable taking any more. I feel that Aleve is just as effective without the weird side effects. F 32 1 days

1  Back arthritis Increased anxiety severely, thoughts of self harm, felt restless While this helped my pain, this med has been the only change in my medication since April 23, 2021. Since then my anxiety has sky rocketed to the point I can barely socialize and my body feels incredibly restless and like bugs crawling. So even though it works after almost 4 months, this medication is not for me. F 30 105 days

1  Hip arthroscopy, labral repair Light-headedness, dizziness and feeling cold. Worst side effects were irritability, sudden dips in mood, intense despair and suicidal thoughts. The last one made me look into it and discover others have experienced exactly the same. Pain can be managed equally with none of these side effects with other safer pain meds. The side effects listed on the medication leaflet did not warn against these depressive side effects, though they seem to be evidently common. Avoid especially if you have history of mental illness.
