I have a cardiac arrythmia - PVC's controlled with a beta blocker but when taking the Mobic I experienced more PVC's. Gave me a shaky, uneasy feeling. | I have persevered with Mobic cause my back pain is so terrible, but I cannot go on like this having diarrhea at night all night, I end up washed out in the morning and kind of "out of it" all the next day. Have to stop it now. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow about having an injection for pain so hopefully that will work. | F | 72 | 10 days 7.5mg 1X day | 10/12/2011 | 5 | Undifferentiated connective tissue | Recently developed hypertension, abnormal kidney function tests, shortness of breath. | I have been doing well for years on this drug & it has been a wonder drug for me but I am beginning to develop some what I think are cumulative side effects. | F | 71 | 13 years 7.5 mg | 8/16/2017 | 5 | Pain in my foot from arthritis. | When I first took it (for a few days), I experienced strange feelings for 30 minutes to an hour. I felt a rush several times, but it did not reoccur after about a week of taking it. | It took about 2 weeks and the pain in my foot subsided and has almost gone away. Before I took this medicine I got to where I could only wear certain shoes as the pain became so severe that I could not walk. I took it for 30 days and it really helped me. I plan to take another series of doses to fend it off from coming back as I am going on a vacation where I will have to walk a great deal. I am very active physically and work out to stay in shape. I'm not sure I could have continued getting a lot of exercise without this medicine. | M | 70 | 30 days | 3/25/2009 | 3 | spine deterioration from arthritis | terrible rash on inside of thighs, started within three days after starting medicine, ended within three days after stopping | I have shown same allergy reaction to other medicines as well, such as some hypertension medicines, and arthritis tylenol. | M | 70 | 10 days | 5/22/2005 | 3 | Arthritis | Disturbing frightening nightmares sometimes 2 in one night I'm afraid to go to sleep. | Meloxicam did help with pain but the nightmares are not worth it. | F | 70 | 4 months 15mg 1X day | 4/14/2024 | 1 | arthritis | After about 2 weeks I started feeling tightness in my chest. My blood pressure had risen from 100/50 to 140/70. I stopped and in 3 weeks blood pressure slowly returned to normal. I do not take blood pressure medication. | I worked well on the back and hip pain. I decided I will live with the pain rather than die from a heart attack from this medication. | M | 70 | 21 days 7.5 mg 1X day | 11/12/2010 | 3 | Back pain osteoporosis | Very bad depression and anxiety. Insomnia. Nightmares when I could sleep. Helped with pain, but the depression was crushing. I will take Aleve. | I will not take it again | F | 69 | 4 days 15mg | 10/31/2019 | 2 | Pain in hip and calf | None | M | 69 | 7 days | 4/18/2005 | 1 | Osteoarthritis in knee | increased blood pressure ( 25+ over normal), severe depression with thoughts of self harm, feelings of hopelessness and periods of uncontrollable crying. I was so depressed I couldn't even call the doctor out of fear I wouldn't be able to stop crying long enough to talk to him. I didn't want him to think I was a wimp. | F | 69 | 12 days 15mg 1X day | 7/21/2023 | 2 | Severe stenosis spinal nerve c3-c4 | Over a period of several weeks of taking 7.5 mg every day noticed a very combative mood taking shape in me. Meloxicam works great to get rid of inflammation and helps a great deal with pain, but the hysterical, panicked combativeness made life awful. | Have taken this med on and off for at least the past ten years but each time rediscover that I can't tolerate it for long. It does a fantastic job of getting rid of inflammation of spinal nerves of neck and back, and does get rid of pain that way. But if I take it every day at 7.5 mg/day after about two weeks I become tearful, combative, angry and plain nasty. Part of the problem is that it has a long half life of 19 hours in young people, so for old coots the half life is probably about a day. (It builds up to about 15 mg in your bloodstream in five days if you take 7.5 mg each day.) On this most recent go round, I started taking it five months ago for injury to spinal nerve root from severe stenosis at C3-C4. After two weeks started to space out doses, and taking 3.75 mg, half a tablet, once every two or three days. The side effects gradually didn't care how spaced out I took it. Took a break three days ago, then took 7.5 mg yesterday am. By nightfall, was short of breath, puffy-faced, irritable, and unbelievably angry. Picked a terrible fight with my husband. Then had panic all night. I believe I am about to have an anaphylactic reaction if I take it again. It's a real shame because this stuff is the most effective anti-inflammatory I've ever taken. And they all have similar, though milder, side effects. Be aware this stuff is a loaded gun. Handle with care. | F | 68 | 5 months 7.5 mg 4X W | 8/23/2022 | 1 | Periformis | Thought of Killy myself all thru the day. Had to go on antidepressant. Dont go there. So bad | F | 68 | 20 days 15 1X day | 5/21/2021 | 1 | Back pain knee pain osteoarthritis | Nightmares, bad dreams-unusual- bad mood with friends- irritable | Good for pain but realised mood changes probably connected | F | 68 | 7 days 15 1X day | 7/12/2020 | 4 | knee pain | none | It worked but I needed to take it 2-3 days before I got its full effect. | F | 67 | 30 days 7.5MG 1X day | 12/7/2012 |
