Of the 14 ailments I have written down. 11 of them can be attributed to the extended use of Singulair. I am going off this drug immediately to see if it is the cause of most of my ailments. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this site. | M | 42 | 9 years | 12/31/2006 | 4 | asthma. allergies | The headaches, nightmares, stomach aches, and anxiety all seem worth it to me right now because this has been the first time on my living memory that I can be anywhere near dogs. Not only can I go to my friends house, I can actually stay inside for more than five minutes! In fact, I was the last person to leave her party. Miracle. In this week I have petted more dogs than I have in 30 years. I'm even thinking about having my own dog. Only thing is, if these headaches, nightmares, or general states of anxiety get any worse, I will have to quit this medicine and be back at square one. Wish me luck! | F | 42 | 2 weeks 10 | 1/10/2012 | 3 | Asthma and allergies | Diarrhea, headaches, body aches, chest pain/tightness, and abdomen/stomach pain. | I was put on this drug as a last resort, my allergies were out of control and I got winded easily. I had been on Azmacort but they quit making it. For the first 2 weeks, it was great, my allergies were under control and I could run and had endurance without feeling like I wanted to die. Then the 3rd week came and all hell broke loose. I had 3 days of diarrhea, upper abdomen pain, chest tightness, a cough, crushing chest pain that was brief, some nausea, mild headache, body aches, irritability, and I started to do things not at all like me. The drug maker makes it sound like the side effects are so rare but my research on the Internet would suggest otherwise. I do not know if these problems will go away or not. It's weird because a symptom will appear and then disappear only to be replaced by something else. I did not take it tonight and plan on calling my doctor. It makes me frustrated to think I have stop taking something that actually helped me and gave me such relief because out of no where all of these things started to happen. | F | 42 | 3 weeks 30 mg 1X day | 11/22/2011 | 2 | Chronic Sinusitis | Abdominal pain and urinary tract infection. Increased anger. | On 3 occassions, each time after I took this pill, I had sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen/ bladder area. I developed trouble urinating. I now have a urinary tract infection. This probably isn't an everyday side effect because I didn't see it listed, but I do believe this caused my infection. I had to go on an antibiotic. Whatever is wrong with you... find another way to fix it. This is a seriously dangerous medication, imo. It's been investigated for suicide links, among other things. Read up on it.
