It works similar to Topamax just without the nasty, unbearable side effects. ZONEGRAN (ZONISAMIDE): Zonisamide is used with other medications to prevent and control seizures (epilepsy). Zonisamide is a sulfonamide anticonvulsant and a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor.
