5 | Colonoscopy prep | No side effects | I have had five colonoscopies over 25 years. By far this was the easiest prep to consume. I have never tried the pills. But for consuming the liquid preps, nothing comes close to how painless it is to drink this liquid. I kept it in the refrigerator and used a straw to drink it. My doctor was pleased with how clean I was. | M | 74 | 1 days 1X day | 8/9/2023 | 5 | Colonoscopy Prep | No side effect | I have had 5 Colonoscopies for routine screenings. I have never tried the pills for prepping, but have consumed Suprep and other liquids previously. Consuming MiraLax was the easiest prep to drink compared to all others. I mixed it with Crystal Light and could not taste the MiraLax. The only negative is you must consume 32 ounces on two occasions. It cleaned me out, no nausea, no headaches, no gas, nothing. This was the best prep I ever took. | M | 74 | 1 days 238 mg 1X day | 6/8/2023 | 5 | Constipation | This has been a life saver for me with ibs and constipation all my life. Just 1 teaspoon or less at times gives me a normal daily bm. What a relief with no side effects. | F | 74 | 5 years 1 teaspoon 1X day | 3/7/2022 | 5 | Constipation | This has been a life saver for me with ibs and constipation all my life. Just 1 teaspoon or less at times gives me a normal daily bm. What a relief with no side effects. | F | 74 | 5 years 1 teaspoon 1X day | 3/7/2022 | 5 | Severe Constipation | Gas Possible and other side effects ? But I started new medications at same time ... that may be the source of feet swelling? I don't know yet. Please read below Additional Comments. | I never had regular bowl movements all my life. I would run a temperature of 100; before bowel movement. After bowel movement temperature was gone.(as a child that started) And they where very large amounts. I now am in my 50's and living with a spinal inquiry that confines me to a wheelchair. Constipation is a issue; living with spinal injury. I now I am taking Miralax two times a day. I take it by mixing it in a applesauce cup. (pre packaged 4oz) Taking very small amount of Miralax 1/8 teaspoon twice a day at meal time with applesauce. I did try recommended amount on label. That was pure hell for me. I through it out ! Advice from a ER doctor said take less build up to what you need. His daughter takes it everyday. I did what he said. It is working for me as of today. Things are 100% better for me. Only issues is swelling of my feet ? Not sure Miralax is the source of swelling in my feet. As I started Neurontin also at same time and it does cause swelling of the feet. | M | 57 | 60 days 1/8 tsp 2X day | 9/5/2021 | 5 | Ibs c | After only 5 days of medication I had a bm and didn't know. | F | 46 | 5 days 17 grams 1X day | 3/10/2021 | 5 | IBS-C; severe constipation | Can make my stomach feel bloated and cause cramping (but that’s what happens when you’re constipated and need to take any laxative) | You need to figure out the correct dosage for you and what your body can handle. Don’t just trust the label. I take it maybe once every 2 weeks, have somewhat watery bowel movements for about 2 days, then normal movements for the next 2 weeks until I take it again. I take two cap fulls in 8oz of water | F | 23 | 1 years | 9/27/2020 | 5 | Constipation | Worked great!Only thing I had was massive cramp in leg upon waking one morning. Not sure if it was the Miramax though. | F | 49 | 7 days ONCE DAILY 1X day | 9/8/2020 | 5 | Dry stools | M | 59 | 7 years | 3/2/2020 | 5 | Medically induced constipation | None | Yes it is pricey but there is a generic called clearlax at Walmart, has same ingredients and same dosage | F | 30 | 2 months 1capful | 10/13/2017 | 5 | chronic costipation | no side effects at 1/2 usual dosage. | 1/2 dose works great. Full dose makes me feel constantly full. | M | 80 | 5 months 8.5 1X day | 7/25/2016 | 5 | Constipation | No side effects. | I take Miralax for constipation that is a side-effect of another medication. I take Miralax maybe three times a month. It works very well and produces a bowel movement either the same day or the next morning if I take it at night. It doesn't cause me any cramping and produces what seems just like a normal bm. I don't think I could take this for colonoscopy prep because of dehydration issues, as I have a medical condition that makes dehydration very dangerous for me, but for occasional use in low doses, it works great. | F | 26 | 1 days 1 cap full | 7/25/2016 | 5 | Colonoscopy prep | No side effects at all | Worked just fine as a prep. Mixed with Gatorade and was able to drink all 64oz. Of the prep. Hydrated very well the day of prep so as not to get nauseous. No issues whatsoever. | F | 57 | 1 days 255 mg | 6/20/2016 | 5 | Constipation & IBS | At times stool consistency was very sticky & difficult to pass & adequately clean. My husband and I both found varying the quantity & frequency of use helped maintain quality and quantity of stools & lead to more frequent complete evacuation. | F | 63 | 5 years 1/2-1 cap | 6/12/2016 | 5 | Constipation | None | This was a miracle for me! I now have regular BM's which has NEVER happened before! I would go 2 weeks+ without going. I occasionally have to bump the dose up but not often. I am truly amazed at some of the negative comments here. Of course Miralax is going to cause some gas! It's also going to cause diarrhea if you take a large dose i.e. prep for a colonoscopy--that's kind of the idea. Miralax did not cause your sore throat, your runny nose, your itchy dry skin or foot pain. It takes several days to work if you start with a small dose. It isn't an instant cure (for those who complained that 1 or 2 doses didn't work.) | F | 48 | 4 years 1 capful | 1/19/2016 | 5 | chronic constipation | slight diarria and local irritation when taking the 17 gram dosage.. Other than that no remarkable side effects. | No other side effects that I can see . I have an almost regular BM about every other day .. while sticking with the 1/2 dose. | M | 79 | 60 days 8.5 grams 1X day | 1/13/2016 | 5 | Colonoscopy prep | I just want to warn patients who are told to use this as prep: it works. Oh God, it works. Pray. | F | 23 | 1 times 240 MG | 10/20/2015 | 5 | Constipation/ibs | Gas/ bloating | It work but I'm going to rest room to much I have taking miralax for 6 months once a day. | F | 45 | 6 months 17mg | 9/9/2015 | 5 | Abnormal colon & severe constipatio | Diarrhea, Bloating, Cramping, Bad stomach pains | I'm glad I started taking it. I wish I would of found out about it sooner. | F | 19 | 3 months 51 MG | 2/12/2015 | 5 | Severe constipation & anal fissure | Cramping, nausea, and bloating. | Works very well and healed up my problems in less than a week!! | F | 22 | 2 weeks 17mg | 2/8/2015 |
