Fell off after 2 days. 2nd patch has left red welt around edge of patch - fell off in shower after 2nd day. Hot flushes are returning. | Would not recommend this product. The patch is huge compared to Estradot patches. These patches don't stay on. Have caused irritation to my skin. Not a very practical patch. Must have been designed by someone who thinks menopausal women shouldn't have an active life, shower or swim as it falls off so easily. Overall would never recommend this patch. | F | 53 | 6 days 75mg 1X W | 12/7/2020 | 1 | Hot flushes and menopause symptoms | The sticker gets FILTHY after only a few hours, no matter where you put the patch. I have not been on it for a week yet today I noticed that where the previous patches were, the skin is peeling off and discoloured. This is UNACCEPTABLE as where are you meant to put the patches during the summer when you wear togs. It has caused breakthrough bleeding, bloating, cramps. | My pharmacist substituted this from Estradot due to difficulty obtaining it. I went back to my GP and got a different form of HRT. My OB/GYN put me on these wretched things whereas my GP was happy for me to continue with the pills. I will be going back on the pills asap. | F | 52 | 4 weeks 50mcg 1X W | 11/16/2020 | 1 | Menopause symptoms and osteoporosis | The worse patch to stay on...it comes off and I have tried using tetegaderm waterproof patches to put on top, several at a time. It is huge size and very ugly. Adhesive turns dark after a day & will not stay on after bathing. I am forced to endure this by my insurance co since they refuse to pay for the good stuff. | I absolutely hate it. It has caused explosive diarrhea, bloating and leg swelling. I am taking it because my ins co refused to use it anymore, now charging $600/mo. They will only pay for generic Climara. I took Vivelle patch over 5 years & it was great. CLIMARA (ESTRADIOL): This medication is a female hormone (estrogen). It is used by women to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness). These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen. If you are using this medication to treat symptoms only in and around the vagina, products applied directly inside the vagina should be considered before medications that are taken by mouth, absorbed through the skin, or injected. This medication may also be used by women who are not able to produce enough estrogen (for example, due to hypogonadism, primary ovarian failure). Certain estrogen products may also be used by women after menopause to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis). However, there are other medications (such as raloxifene, bisphosphonates including alendronate) that are also effective in preventing bone loss and may be safer. These medications should be considered for use before estrogen treatment. FDA Approval Date: 1994-12-22 (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
