| 3 | Vaginal dryness | I was on osphena for 4 weeks. I gained 4 lb in those 4 weeks. I had a vaginal discharge daily which at times was annoying. I had muscle twitches in my legs and night sweats. Heart palpitations began after only 2 weeks of taking the drug. Osphena was working, my vaginal pain went away, but i decided to stop taking it for a few days due to the heart palps. Unfortunately the vaginal dryness is coming back. My gynecologist recommended i try taking osphena once a week. We will see how that goes. OSPHENA (OSPEMIFENE): This medication is used to treat painful sexual intercourse in women after menopause. Painful intercourse is a symptom of changes in and around your vagina, due to menopause. This drug is different from hormones (including estrogens and progestins). It works by acting like estrogen in some parts of the body.
