I am sure this product works well for some people, but like any medication, there are always exceptions. I would much rather suffer from acne than use this product again, which is a strong statement, as cystic acne is excruciatingly painful. I would NOT recommend starting retinoids within a few weeks or months of a major life event (i.e. wedding), because your acne will get worse before it gets better. I noticed an overall improvement in my skin in 2-3 days, with a major improvement after using Differin for 6 months. Judging by my prior experience with these drugs, it takes app. 1 year to really get the full effect of the retinoid. Again, there are different retinoids for different people.
