| 4 | BV | Thick clumpy discharge I thought was an on coming yeast infection it is now day 6, I began to worry and started scooping out the clumps then found forums that said dont do that so I inserted another dose just for peace of mind. Yes, those side effects are temporary and go away. Mine lasted till day 3 and were gone by day 4 - except discharge which only lasted up to 24 hours after last dose. Mind you I had the infection for 3 months! This medicine cured my infection! About me: -No health issues (had blood work done prior to getting antibiotic). -Not on birth control or have any other contraceptive device. -No gynecological concerns (endometriosis, polycystic, ect) and average 24 day cycle. My side effects: -Dryness everywhere (yes up there too) and itchiness on face, arms and sometimes stomach. No rash. Used good lotion on skin and KY when needed on labia (?). -Mild pinching or burning durring application (occasionally). -Discharge (looked like clear gel mixed with white stuff) I did this once a day before bed. Overall, in comparison to other antibiodics I've taken this really wasn't that bad. I'm glad I did the gel instead of pills. Gooey stuff that comes out is gross, but I just wore panty liners. GYN nurse told me white discharge could be bacteria clearing!!! I did NOT get a yeast or bladder infection with it and I'm super prone to UTI's. Why? I ate 3 Activia yogurts a day (morning, lunch and dinner) and drank like a horse! Yes! Make sure to eat yogurt and drink water like crazy it'll help tremendously. Get panty liners to change out throught the day as well. I liked the 7 day instead of 5. I was prescribed Metro Gel for 5 days once a day before bed. The morning after my first night on the gel I noticed some spotting, little specs of blood with white and pinkish clumpy discharge. I'm freaking out and have my second appointment next week. The spotting is still there and I'm not due for my period until next week. I'm on birth control and I usually don't start spotting till the first sunday-monday (2 days) before my period is due. So weird.
