5 | DVT's | bruising, bleeding, whelts, chills | It would be more usefull in pill, liquid, transdermal, or form other than injection. | M | 43 | 3 months | 7/9/2004 | 4 | thrombosis | M | 21 | 8 months | 1/9/2003 | 4 | blood clot following resection | very sore stomach | Need to be put in pill form! the medice worked! | M | 6 months | 4/1/2005 | 4 | blood clot following resection | very sore stomach | Need to be put in pill form! The medcine worked! | M | 48 | 6 months | 4/1/2005 | 4 | DVT Right Leg | Abdomen @ point of injection site bruses and hurts for a long peroid of time. Very sore abdomen. | Doc at hospital suggested drug and to have me self inject myself due to my age and rather good health. I broke my knee and ended up with blood clot. I am still taking injections and it seams to be working OK but very painful after you inject. Pain is a 5 to 6 at times on a scall of 10. | M | 46 | 7 days | 5/4/2007 | 4 | PE left lung & DVTs | Chest tightness, difficulty swallowing & breathing, sore stomach, anxiety, depression. | I didn't have shortness of breath or chest tightness until I started Lovenox. It also went away when I switched to Coumadin only. I'm thankful I could go home instead of staying in the hospital with Heparin, but I think I was a bit mislead about the potential side effects. A few times I thought I was having a heart attack only to be told by my doctor that it was nothing to worry about. It's a good drug, just know what to expect. | M | 27 | 2 weeks | 7/17/2007 | 4 | ADVANCED FACTOR V LEIDEN, DVT & PE | AWFUL BRUISING AROUND INJECTION SITE. COLD SWEATS. ABDOMINAL PAIN. | LONG TERM EFFECTS INCLUDE OSTHIOPEROSIS...AND THAT IS BOTHERSOME BECAUSE I AM A LIFER ON THIS DRUG. | M | 35 | 1.5 years | 12/9/2005 | 4 | 3 bouts of DVTs & PE | Shots are painful, hard spots around my waist, but the stuff works. | Because of temperature requirements, I am limited where I can travel with lovenox. | M | 59 | 3 years | 7/20/2007 | 4 | Cardio Ablasion Pre/post surgery | PAINFULL for approx. 10mins after injection!! Did not expect that!! Just took first dose. I'm sure it's doing what it's supposed to do. | M | 27 | 4 days | 10/25/2008 | 4 | Blood clots after breaking ankle | Weakness, dizziness, nausea (eating makes this better, not worse), headaches | Injecting myself is no fun, but considering that a CT scan had already shown some clots in the lungs, I don't have much choice, as ankle surgery remains a possibility (so no Coumadin -- yet). As my mother said (regarding her cancer treatment), "it beats the alternative." Glad to see that others have same symptoms, not all of which are listed by manufacturer. | M | 48 | 9 days 70 MG 2X day | 7/8/2011 | 4 | Blood clots | Stinging sensation, light bruising. mild headaches. Injecting slowly eases the pain. Night sweats. | M | 51 | 3 months 30mg 2X day | 3/19/2012 | 4 | Pre-electrical cardioversion | Just prior to cardioversion because of my atrial fibrillation, the doctor discovered that my INR was too low, so I received two Lovenox injections in my stomach, quite painful and caused bruising, and then I had to give myself injections afterwards at home, too. Nothing I would ever want to do for long. Had a trans-esophageal echocardiogram prior to the cardioversion and somehow my tongue was traumatized (it looked like I may have badly bitten it somehow, but I was under Twilight anaesthetic) and due to the thinned blood, I bled profusely INTO my tongue and the next day after I got home it looked like a killer whale filling up the whole inside of my mouth (my tongue was black and blue and HUGELY swollen). I went to the ER and the doctor said this was life-threatening, because the swelling tongue could block my airway. However, it stopped short of that. It was a horrible thing to experience, very frightening and prevented me from eating any solid food (there was no room in my mouth | I downgraded the score to a 4 because even though it did exactly what it was supposed to do, I definitely didn't like the idea of having to inject myself with it. And it leaves bad bruises, but they do heal. | M | 61 | 2 days | 2/21/2009 | 4 | DVT/ PE/ Rare Blood Disorder | I dont feel anything like myself, low energy, Axienty, cant sleep at night(dont go to bed till about 1 a.m.), sore stomach, the injections hurt because of how thick the liquid is, when you clean the area with the alcohol let the area dry first before injecting, it wont hurt as much. I am also on Coumadin taking 15mg a day regardless of if I have to give myself shots | Because i have a rare blood disorder (less then 1% of the population have it) i am required to have my INR tested twice a week right now, when its where it should be i dont have to give myself shots, but i find the side effects are more apparent, i have only been off them for a day so far, next week i go back to get my blood tested to see if my INR is still where it should be if not i have to take shots, Im taking Coumadin as well and it seems that when im not on the shots the symptoms are worse. I am a Lifer of these two drugs, something im going to look into is a Homeopathy item called ARNICA MOTANA, its made from a plant and when taken oraly it CAN help with blood clots and work with Coumadin, im going to take what i found to my Doctor and get his take on it. Who knows if it will help but what the hell right? | M | 21 | 3 weeks | 7/21/2009 | 3 | Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome | I have been very tired ever since taking the shots. Irritable and almost short tempered. I have been very gasy and have had some stomach discomfort. Black and Blues at point of puncture small lumps at injection site. | I have a rare blood dissorder where the blood clots in my veins. It is called "Anticardio Phospholipid Syndrome" and is also called "APS" "Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome". It is an auto imude disease where the body fightes against itself. I am currently taking 15mg of coumadin daily as well along with the Lovenox 100mg twice a day. We are having a difficult time making my blood levels theraputic. I noticed if you ice the area down before and after the needle it hurts much less and the stingy doesn't last as long. | M | 33 | 11 days | 8/10/2009 | 3 | DVT&PE | Pain & swelling at injection site, bruising, feeling very tired like getting sick, headache, possible depression | 100mg ,twice daily | M | 38 | 6 weeks | 4/15/2008 | 3 | DVT and IVC 90% occlusion | I’m having fevers , anxiety, enormous bruising on leg that has only gotten bigger, big bump on my belly. I can take some bruising, but all this other stuff is ridiculous. I panic sometimes thinking this will really hurt me | Make it in pill form, I’m sure it works, but something has got to give seeing all the people like myself having such terrible experiences. I’ve never encountered any drug that would cause all this. | M | 44 | 10 days 150mg | 10/19/2019 | 3 | blood clots | Lumps, black and blue, and itching at injection site, very uncomfortable. | M | 64 | 2 weeks 100MG 2X day | 4/24/2011 | 3 | DVT | Headache. Slight redness at injection sites | M | 57 | 5 days 80 2X day | 4/20/2010 | 3 | Knee surgery | Some nausea, diarrhea, slight headache, minor sting in the injection site and bruising. | I would rather not take it. Main thing I feel is like a light case of the flu. | M | 42 | 10 days 40 MG 1X day | 3/9/2010 | 3 | DVT and pregnancy | I started on 100mg daily once a day and experienced chest thightness, nausea and depression. It is hard to tell if it's the medicine or the pregnancy, I didn't felt depressed and all-day nausea with my first baby, so I'm sure it's the medicine. Then they changed my dosis to 60mg twice a day and chest pain was gone, but I'm back in the 100mg dosis and the chest pain is back. | M | 32 | 30 days | 10/7/2007 |
LOVENOX (PRESERVATIVE FREE) (ENOXAPARIN SODIUM): Enoxaparin is used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. This helps to reduce the risk of a stroke or heart attack. This medication helps keep your blood flowing smoothly by lowering the activity of clotting proteins in the blood. Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant, also known as a "blood thinner." It is a type of heparin. Conditions which increase your risk of developing blood clots include certain types of surgeries (such as knee/hip replacement, abdominal), long periods of being immobile, certain types of heart attack, and a specific type of chest pain called unstable angina. For some medical conditions, enoxaparin may be used in combination with other "blood thinners." FDA Approval Date: 2000-06-02 (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
