1  Allergy and clogged nose My PCP prescribed this spray last year because i had clogged nose, She wanted me to use this three times daily for one week. After two days i realized I lost my sneeze reflex, Severe anxiety due to that and i had to go to the ER.There was bleeding inside the nose. I thought my reflex will never be back but it came back after 5 months ,I am still suffering, my sneeze reflex comes and goes. Sometimes it is stop for months. No matter what i do i cant stimulate sneeze anymore, I think one day i wlll lose it forever, Flonase probably numbed cranial nerves. Stay away from this devil, it causes permanent damage inside the nose F 43 3 days

1  Allergies/Post Nasal Drip Headaches, Extreme Fatigue, Brain Fog, Anxiety. My allergies/post nasal drip were at their worst, so I decided to try Flonase out of desperation. The first day or two I noticed immediate relief for my post nasal drip symptoms - but then the following days I began feeling extremely fatigued & anxious. I've suffered from anxiety & depression in the past and have it under control, so I am always aware when my mental health is feeling off - and the only logical explanation for this change was the introduction of Flonase in my system. I stopped using it immediately, and feel as though I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms - headache, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety - I would've thought I was going crazy, but was so relieved to see that others had similar experiences with Flonase. I'm feeling a bit better each day, but from past experiences with anxiety, I know it will take a bit of time to feel back to normal. In conclusion, I'd much rather deal with post nasal drip than have my mental health sent into a tailspin! F 33 4 days

1  Fluid in ears As a person who has never struggled with irrational anxiety, I am convinced Flonase triggered my ongoing struggle with feelings of anxiety/dread/doom. It took me starting and stopping it a few times to realize what this medication was doing to me physically and emotionally. I have had to work really hard to try to overcome a very difficult emotional phase of my life I am convinced Flonase brought about. I am learning it is going to take time for my body to normalize and while I feel it is slowly getting better, it is amazing to me that a drug so readily prescribed can wreak such havoc. I had severe withdrawal symptoms physically when I stopped cold turkey - insomnia, agitation, aches and pains, and ongoing extreme anxiety. I finally got on some anxiety medication to help and it is easing it some. I hope it will continue to get better in time. It has been several months since I stopped and I am still experiencing the aftershocks of what Flonase did to my body. I will NEVER take it again. Beware!!! 42 1 months

1  Allergies/Ear issues Dizziness, fatigue, vivid dreams, derealization, depersonalization, headaches, depression, mood changes, irritability, painful nasal passages, lightheaded, vertigo After a return flight making me feel like I was still on the flight even a week later, I went to the Dr where I was advised to take this medication to help clear/dry up my sinuses. I was already feeling 60% better when I saw the doctor but I figured this would boost my healing quicker. I was dead wrong. Within days I was experiencing even worse vertigo and light headedness. I became extremely depressed and was experiencing depersonalization and derealization heavily. I couldn't sleep through the night, and I dreaded sleep due to the extremely vivid and horrendous dreams I was having. I became horrified thinking my sickness took a turn for the worse. I spent so much money on numerous doctor and specialist appointments in the meantime, begging to be scheduled as soon as possible/etc. Nobody could give me answers. I frantically searched Google and somehow came across this page and immediately stopped taking this medicine. I thought there was surely no way that this was the cause of my additional issues. It's been 6-7 days since I stopped and I am feeling 75-80% better already. I still have moments and times where I feel a bit out of it but I'm seeing a decrease over this past week, so I am hopeful over the next 1-2 weeks that I will feel myself again. I noticed there are quite a few people that said they felt it takes around 3 weeks to feel normal again. I already feel so much relief to where I was just a week ago. This co F 26 10 days

1  Clogged Ears I already have a bad history with steroids. I have PTSD and panic disorder that evolved from already being harmed by prescription drugs. Every steroid including topical clobetasol affects my heart rate and causes me to have panic attacks. The doctor assured me this Flonase was harmless because it was not a pill or cream that could be absorbed throughout. They lied! I almost called 911 because the panic attack this toxic waste induced was by far one of the worst I've ever experienced. My ears actually clogged up more to where it was muffled and I felt I couldn't breathe. I then started feeling these weird brain zaps and pain in my neck. I was sweating. As everyone knows calling an ambulance is expensive so I wanted to figure out if this was really a panic attack or something else. Thank God I found this site because I saw others had this same thing happen to them too. I decided to take one of my emergency Ativan pills and got all that panic to stop. If I did not have Ativan, I would of had no choice but to go spend money for the ER. I only used this for 3 days and it is all I could take. It's going in the garbage. This toxin should not be sold without a prescription and pamphlet with warnings. Shame on these doctors for marketing this as harmless, encouraging the use of it and then telling us these side effects are impossible. My faith in doctors is now non existent. F 41 3 days

1  non allergic rhinitis stuffy nose Fatigue; bad headache; body aches; dry mouth and throat causing swallowing difficulties; upset stomach; dizziness; ear pain; low mood; agitation/irritability; emotional It wasn't even helping clear up my stuffy nose. It actually made my congestion worse and my nose drier. If you get bad side effects from this spray, it's not worth it. My body must be sensitive to steroids, which causes these side effects.  1  Seasonal allergies I am constantly light headed which I never have experienced before. I used this as recommended. Initially 2 sprays in the am and then reduced to one spray a day in the am. Sharp pains to my heart and tightness in chest. Lower back pain. Ended up in emergency for my chest. Caused anxiety too. Stopped using it now realizing Flonase was the cause. Helped allergies but not worth all the other side affects. Will never use it again and I tossed it into garbage. Do not use!!! This product should not be sold over the counter!!! Scary side effects. Do not use!!! Glad I read this forum, could not have figured out my new symptoms otherwise. Scary!! M 49 4 weeks

1  ENT Ordered - turbinate hypertrophy Made me mildly stuffed up at first. Last few days got progressively worse, then today experience high anxiety, shortness of breath, nose and ears totally stuffed for about an hour after taking it. Those symptoms finally cleared except left me with very stuffy nose. Never once made me feel better or less congested. Have not been sleeping very good, now suspect it was the Flonase. I'm pretty sure anxiety and other side effects would get worse, so am not going to take any more. M 64 17 days

1  Recommended, dryness, irritation. I began using Flonase as a result of minor nasal issues as prescribed. After about a week, I noticed a quick and extreme shift in what I could tolerate. I went from being able to enjoy nearly anything to barely being able to stomach basic foods. My partner keeps a daily, detailed journal of our lives, and it is more than apparent that this was brought on by use of this drug. I went from eating nearly 2500 calories a day to losing incredibly risky amounts of weight, not being able to eat a plethora of things including, but not limited to: breads, cured meat, dressing of most kinds, caramelized sugars, basically ALL dairy products (milk, all cheese, sauces, etc), and many commercially available items; including wine, beer, liquor, vinegar, juices, chips, candies, and rarely even fruits and vegetables. I am losing weight and nutrition at an alarming rate, and there is not a single thing that has changed in my life since than taking this drug. I would not wish this on the most terrible people in history. I feel like I am dying. I cannot enjoy a single moment of any day without feeling like I am going to vomit up my organs. Coffee, tobacco, garlic, all abhorrent. All that prevents me to not commit suicide is the potential to heal and the steady support from my partner. I am not being dramatic. This is not an act. My own feces is more pleasant to smell than fresh baked white bread. This product must be eliminated. I have discovered that at one point, prior to becoming over the counter, that this and similar products had once listed potential risks, and it seems from what I have read that after becoming more available, they took the warnings off based on the incredible rarity of these kinds of side effects. If my healthcare providers aren't even able to know about this, how is it ok to give to the general public? M 30 2 weeks

1  Seasonal Allergies Anxiety, Depersonalization, light sensitivity, fatigue I have been taking Flonase on and off for 4 -5 years but have never connected it to the anxiety issues I have had until this year. I'm not saying it was the main culprit but after no taking it at all last year and having a successful year anxiety wise I started Flonase this spring for allergies. After three days I fell back to a place with my anxiety that I haven't been in a very long time and it all started to make sense. If you have a history of anxiety issues do not take Flonase. It does work for allergies but the anxiety is much much worse in my case. M 30 3 days

2  Allergy Headache, heart palpitations, loss of libido For years I've taken Flonase from March thru May because of seasonal allergies. It's always been great. This year something changed. Headaches! Horrible headaches! Loss of libido. And recently heart palpitations. Once i removed Flonase from my daily routine, the heart palpitations went away immediately. The headaches took about 5 days to go away. I feel like Flonase added an ingredient because it wasn't always this way. I won't be taking Flonase again M 45 3 months

1  Seasonal rhinitis Extreme anxiety, insomnia, shakiness, loss of appetite, everything that has to do with imbalanced cortisol levels. It's been 2 almost 3 since my last dose and I think my symptoms are starting to fade but I still feel jittery sometimes. Take at your own risk. Doctors will say they haven't heard but look at the reviews on here. If it happened to 2 people it can be a coincidence but all these reviews tell me there's a pattern and the culprit is Flonase. 29 7 days

1  Pollen allergies Body aches, neck and back pain, anxiety, nightmares, agitation I recently relocated to FL and began having stuffy nose, itchy throat and headaches. The pharmacy recommended Flonase. After a few days I woke up every night around 3am feeling nervous. Also, started having body aches, headaches, eye pain, neck and back pain. It took a day or so for me to realize it was the Flonase. Stopped taking it 2 days ago and slowly starting to feel better. Thought I had COVID or the flu but tested negative. This med should be pulled from then shelves today. F 46 6 days
