1  Allergies and clogged ear Vertigo and dizziness, heart skipping beats I'm so shocked by these reviews, it took me a while to realize Flonase was what was giving me extreme vertigo and dizziness. Especially after stopping it cold turkey. This had happened before when I took this and that's when I decided to stop. But since my clogged ear was becoming unbearable, I decided to try again, and YEP, same symptoms started. Based on my experience and people's reviews, this is complete crap! :( F 34 7 days

New people to this post if you could come back later and email me when your better and tell your story I’ll keep it on file and send it to the new people. For the people that still follow this post like I have for 4 years if you could write down your story of how this affected you then I could send it to the new people. Please include your age. Symptom’s, duration of use and most importantly how long it took you to get better. These people need to know they will get better. Sometimes it takes a while. Thank you. M 61

1   Intense anxiety, heart palpitations, paranoia, intrusive/gross/dark thoughts, insomnia, loss of appetite, suicidal thinking, nightmares, fear, irritability. After about 2 months taking Flonase I started to get really anxious out of nowhere and intrusive thinking. The intrusive thoughts drove me into high panic and anxiety. I went to Dr. to get checked and nothing was wrong with me, blood work was fine, saw therapist was told intrusive thoughts are normal but this was not normal - I've never had any problems with the side-effects I've listed, esp intrusive thoughts, dark thoughts. So I remembered I was using Flonase and was using it quite a lot - my mistake. I was using it for vertigo from ear allergies. It worked but I stupidly did not stop taking it. It's been 6 days I've stopped and I'm experience same symptoms, prob even more, now I'm experiencing nightmares, and I'm in a crying spell now - again this is all UNUSUAL for me I never cry, I'm generally a happy, strong person. Please, anyone out there, write to me and let me know on how to beat this. For ref, I don't take any other meds, just vitamins, probiotics. I've never been diagnosed with any mental issues. I'm laying off caffeine and only drinking caffeine-free tea, it was helping but this withdrawal seems to be tough. It has to be the Flonase. That stuff is INSANELY dangerous! F 35 3 months

1  Allergy symptoms, fluid in ears I experienced withdrawal symptoms when tapering off from Flonase...insomnia, anxiety, nightmares, adrenaline rushes that wakened me from sleep. I was taking 2 sprays in each nostril, per day, for about 2 months. When I tried going back to 1 spray, these symptoms occurred. Previously, I had anxiety and nightmares intermittently, but withdrawing from Flonase is making them worse. My doctor also recommended this for my symptoms, even though she knew I had anxiety issues. Has anyone else experienced increased side effects while tapering off of Flonase. How did you handle them? Any suggestions? F 75 1 years

1  Sinus pressure due to allergies Backache, Sore feet, especially after sitting/laying, sore throat, low energy uncoordinated hand movements, like it's a little difficult to do normal things like the dishes. (especially when it's wearing off, like right before my daily dose) Panic attacks-mild but definitely not something I had before. I discontinued and after 36 hours had nausea, severe vertigo, shortness of breath. Made the connection, did two sprays, and felt immediately better.I'm tapering off now. After reading other reviews here, I'm very concerned. I've been having lots of back pain and physical therapy isn't helping- actually seems to make it worse. I see that other people have been experiencing new back pain while on flonase- so idiotic. Why do I ask my doctor for help with anything. I'm tapering off now. Never again. This stuff is crap, and I think it makes you dependent. Sketchy. I'd rather have a stuffy nose. Make sure to taper off. My doc told me to stick with it, but it Did not noticeably help my sinus issues even after three months F 41 100 days

1  Congestion and allergies Horrible experience! Just like everyone on here, terrible anxiety, very weird vibration sensation, insomnia, panic attacks. It probably lasted over a month. Doctors, specially psychologist, psychiatrists should be aware of these side effects caused by Flonase, I was diagnosed with anxiety obviously, but just couldn't figure out why I was having anxiety. It's incredible how all these descriptions here are so similar to mine. Never again. F 7 days

1  Fluid in ears and sinuses Anxiety, severe depression, cold chills, terrible numbness in arms legs and face. I have anxiety but I've never had depression. This garbage made me so depressed and almost suicidal and I only took it for 3 days. Severe anxiety also. I took Flonase years ago and it was great. Don't know what happened. Two weeks later I'm better but still not back to being myself. Tell everyone you know about the side effects. F 41 3 days

1  Covid nasal congestion So many of my symptoms are what have been described here by others: extreme anxiety, insomnia (several nights wide awake with NO sleep at all despite all efforts to sleep, melatonin, breathing exercises, reading etc.), shaking, rapid heart beat, loss of appetite, overly emotional (For 10 days, I used 2 sprays/nostril once a day.) Before this I did not have anxiety or sleep difficulties. Can anyone tell me when this will improve? I stopped taking 72 hours ago and still did not sleep at all last night. I need to know when there could be relief/return to normal. This has been a horrific experience. Currently I seem to have a pattern of an ok night with several hours sleep followed by a bad night with zero. F 58 10 days

3  Seasonal Allergies Mild head pressure like headache coming on. Thought it was the pollen but now I think maybe not Esopagial construction after using for weeks. Simptoms were after a few weeks of one pump in the morning. After reading some of these reviews I'm wondering if I too had some mild depression setting in and some weird dreaming but not sure if I can link it. Just stopped talking it a few days ago. Will go back to rinsing with non iodized sea salt. It did work in combination with Padaday eye drops and helped me get by moderate pollen days without having to take antihistamines which have ucky side effects too. Was starting to get mild head pressure and headaches but thought it might be the pollen even though I am not prone to headaches. Now not sure. Thank you all for writing on this board. F 67 0 days

1  Allergies Insomnia, Anxiety, Panic Attack The first 3 days I took this, I was having issues falling asleep even though I was tired but I didn't think much of it. Last night (the fourth night), I had been in bed for 3 hours and still wasn't asleep. I was so tired and my eyes were heavy, but my brain wouldn't turn off. Suddenly around 1 AM, I jolted up with a severe panic attack. I'm not a stranger to panic attacks, but this one was interesting. There were no “anxious thoughts”, it was just physical. My chest was tight, heart racing, sweating, nauseous, heavy and numb arms, dizziness, etc. After I was able to calm down, I still couldn't sleep so I looked up side effects of Flonase and found all of these stories just like mine. And on top of that, I ended up getting only one hour of sleep last night. Did it help my allergies? Yes, absolutely. But it is not worth the awful side effects. F 28 4 days

1  Eustachian tube dysfunction VERTIGO. DIZZINESS. Hyperactivity. ANXIETY. Faster heart rate. Blood pressure fluctuations. Potentially blood sugar crashes. Shaky feeling. I started taking the spray after getting blocked ears after a virus last year. In the few months of taking it, I kept getting vertigo and dizziness randomly which I just linked to the ear issues. A couple of months ago, I decided to stop the drug. I felt my ears were becoming more severely blocked with the spray, and I didn't like the hyper feeling it gave me. I took antihistamines which helped and then I noticed my dizziness improved immensely to almost not being present. It wasn't until I made this link - I started logging my last few bouts of vertigo that I had woken up with and what I had done / eaten that night before. Both of those 2 times I logged, I had taken flixonase x 2 sprays each nostril in the evening. Fast forward.. so last night, after stopping this spray for over a month, I decided to take 2 sprays in each nostril due nasal congestion. I woke up at 4am in one of my similar dizzy/vertigo spells, and my heart absolutely raced up to 140bpm . Before going to bed, I noticed I was getting heart palpitations. Honestly; this stuff is crap and never helped my ear issues, in fact it clearly made it worse, and I'll never be taking it again. Feel free to email me if you also have eustachian tube issues and have noticed worsening / the same symptoms as well from Flonase!!! F 31 5 months

1  Clogged ears/seasonal allergies This medication made me have extreme panic, insomnia, anxiety attacks, sweaty palms and feet, headaches, nausea, depression, felt on edge and the list could go on. After having a spike in bad anxiety I decided to look up what had changed and it was Flonase! Yesterday was my last dose and I will never use it again. Hoping this goes away soon since I stopped it after less than a week. If your dr says it can't cause anxiety THEY ARE LYING! DO NOT USE! DO NOT USE F 32 4 days

1  Chronic sinusitis I've had severe anxiety and anxiety attacks. I have also had two weird "episodes" of what I describe as tunnel vision. Extremely heavy eyelids during the episodes which lasted just under a minute both times. Straight after those "episodes" I was left with severe facial and sinus pressure for hours. I have also had brain fog, exhausting fatigue and queasiness in my stomach, chest pressure, (which in turn increases anxiety), the most weirdest, disturbing dreams. Restless sleep. I never connected all this to Flonase. I just wondered, could it be.. then I found this page. I'm horrified to hear everyone else's stories. Disgusting how Drs just hand this stuff out like it's nothing. It's poison. Curious to know how long these feelings will linger now I'm that I've thrown this junk drug in the garbage. Anyone else have the weird tunnel vision episodes like me? This drug should be outlawed. F 56 0 weeks

1  Seasonal allergies Sore throat, sinus pain, nightmares and what felt like "road rage" very irritable. Family notified a difference in my mood. I couldn't figure out what was causing this to happen. Then after waking up from a vivid nightmare I decided to look up the side effects of Flonase and found this page. Now I realize it was causing all of the above mentioned issues. Will stop talking immediately and will never use again. I'll stick with a salt water sinus spray. M 45 4 days
