1 | Rhinitis, allergies | Extreme anxiety, panic attacks, tinnitus, muscle tightness, muscle aches, neck pain, head fullness. | Wow! I took this stuff for over ten years with no problems but one day I started to experience extreme anxiety and started having continual panic attacks. That started in in 2019 and continued for 3 years. I never made the connection that it could be from Flonase until about a month ago when I saw this forum. I stopped taking it a month ago and am getting better but still experiencing some anxiety on some days. Also still have some muscle tightness and aches. The fact that I took it so long with no problems makes me think that they changed the formula at some point. Will never take these types of medication again. Thank you to all who've shared your experience that have helped so many of us! | M | 59 | 10 years 1X day | 3/19/2024 | 2 | Dust Mite allergy | after over 1y of daily use, i started feeling face tingling/ pricks on the left side of my face and also a pressure sensation. also nostril started being always a bit bloody, not a nose bleed but blood traces every time i blew nose. i had several episodes of weird sensations like elevated heart rate, hot flashes, sweaty palms etc | i started feeling very anxious and thought I had some weird undiagnosed disease. the face tingling on one side made me worry about a stroke or MS. I went to a neurologist, did an MRI and no one could figure out the cause. The other symptoms like weird body sensations, anxiety etc may also be caused by flonase. I did not realize they could be linked until reading other people's experience. Stopped 2 days ago and still have the face tingling, hope it all improves soon. | F | 34 | 2 years 1/nostril 1X day | 3/18/2024 | 1 | Sinus issues/Tinnitus | Extreme full body anxiety. Panic attacks. Derealization/depersonalization. Elevated heart rate. Fatigue. Muscle loss. Stomach pain/gastritis. Blurred vision. Brain fog. Extreme head pressure. Severe neck and upper back pain. | Took me a long time to realize my newfiund anxiety/pd was being caused by Flonase. Upon discontinuation, my panic attacks stopped within 2 weeks but I am nearly 3 months off and still dealing with intermittent bouts of physical anxiety and fatigue/weakness. Neck and back is slowly getting better. Recovery can take a while and it's brutal in the beginning. Thank God I found the support group for ppl like us. https://discord.gg/tHxEMhvd | M | 54 | 8 months 4 sprays 1X day | 3/17/2024 | 1 | Doctor recommended | I'm no longer taking this medication. | M | 36 | 400mg 1X day | 3/12/2024 Patient History | 1 | Cold | EXTREEM ANXIETY and DEPRESSION, I have never felt this bad in my life, I can't think and do normal activity, I get really scared for no reasons. what make me more angary that when I talk to ENT doctor about this, they have no idea about the symptoms? | It gets better over time, but I wish I can go back to my normal self. | M | 27 | 4 days 3X day | 1/31/2024 | 1 | Nasal congestion | Derealization, depersonalization, intrusive thoughts, extreme anxiety, nightmares, insomnia, depression, intense crying and hopelessness, panic attacks, racing thoughts | I took Flonase on and off for about 2 years. When I started taking it consistently, I noticed my anxiety getting to unmanageable levels. In late July 2023, one night completely at random, the symptoms above started. It was so bad I had convinced myself I was going crazy. I couldn't function. It's now Jan 2023, about to be 6 months since I've stopped Flonase. Things have gotten better but I'm still far from "normal"ť. Dp/dr still affect me, heightened anxiety still affects me, crying spells and intrusive thoughts come less often now. Things DO get better. The first two months were hell for me. Now I'm hoping I continue to get better with time. | F | 27 | 3 weeks 2 puff/day 1X day | 1/16/2024 | 1 | Congestion from COVID. | Extremely high anxiety, palpitations, trembling, fear, paranoia. Came in very quickly after the 3rd dose. Flonase is not for me. | F | 55 | 2 days 1X day | 1/12/2024 | 1 | I started taking nasal steroids for pnd. I thought it would be just easy peasy. After about 2 weeks I started getting tired chest tightness like not normal and depression bad. I couldnt sleep. I finally said NO more steroids ...but now my mucous is bad. I am so depressed. | F | 51 | 2 weeks 2X day | 12/27/2023 | 1 | Prescribed due to cough | INSANE ANXIETY!!! This stuff is pure evil!!! I had a bad cough, doctor prescribed me Flonase; I try not to read reviews because it almost always talks you out of taking it, but I should have with this one! Why my doctor prescribed me this is beyond me, I am bipolar II and finally got the right cocktail of medications to help me though everyday, but this made me feel worse then years ago before I was on meds, my hands keep going numb, bad chest pains and it feels like bubbling in my chest, I can't stop thinking about dying and my anxiety is through the roof, I swore my heart was failing!!! As I lay here typing this my chest is still bubbling, I also had some blurred vision… this needs to be taking off the market because my friend recently started and was having numbness and panic attacks as well! I will say this might be the only time I am ok with being bipolar due to coping mechanisms I have learned from going to therapy weekly! Without it, who knows what would have happened! | Please stay away, stick with basic saline sprays, while not as "effective"ť you won't have to deal with this!!! | M | 36 | 15 days 2X day | 12/27/2023 | 1 | Seasonal Allergies/ Sinus Infection | Extreme anxiety, tremors, weird numbness, insomnia, depression | STAY AWAY FROM THIS MEDICATION! I cannot believe how many people have the same symptoms as me! This entire time I thought I was going crazy. This disgusting medication nearly drove me to the point of insanity. DO NOT TAKE! | M | 23 | 1 years 50 2X day | 12/24/2023 | 5 | 0 days 1X day | 12/22/2023 | 1 | My nose was clogged | I used it at 1:30 AM. I woke up at 3 AM with half of my cheek and lips, numb, and an incredible amount of stress and panic. I felt like I was gonna die. This is the most intense fear I've ever experienced in my life. I was crying. I wanted to rush to the emergency. Amongst many other symptoms that I experienced. These people should be sued. please let me know if someone if someone is suing them I would like to join. Thanks | F | 26 | 1 days 1X day | 12/21/2023 | 1 | Fluid in ear | Depression, Extreme Anxiety, Dissociation, Fatigue, stress, dizziness, stuck on negative thoughts or past events that cause severe stress. | I took this for 6 days as advised by my doctor to help with fluid in my ear. 1 spray per nostril, twice a day. I immediately started feeling depressed after 24 hours. After 3 days on the worst wave hit. I was stuck on negative thinking patterns and couldn’t stop thinking about things that made me stressed or made me feel guilty. I felt extremely anxious and depressed. I felt like there was a wall between me and the rest of the world, after 6 days it finally hit me that the Flonase could be causing this. So I quit taking it and did my research. Now I don’t have any doubt it was the Flonase. I have been off this for 3 days now and symptoms are still as bad as ever at times with some improvement other times. Praying I can feel normal again soon. | M | 28 | 6 days 2X day | 12/7/2023 | 1 | Medicamental Rhinitis, Allergy | This drug is a real poison, the same as Nasonex. I would like to warn everyone, please think ten times before taking it. I got a severe dizziness, headache and sinus pressure the next day after I bought Nasonex. I started to have tingling in my left foot, heart palpitations and brain fog. I had to stop my work and stay home as I thought I would lose my consciousness. At first I didn’t attribute my symptoms to the drug, because doctors and pharmacists assured me that they are extremely safe. They are probably paid by big pharma to sell this poison. When I realized that my symptoms were due to Nasonex and as I still had a severe sinus pressure I decided to change it for Avamis(Flonase) and everything got even worse. Things slowly started to get back to normal only when I completely stopped taking that poison. The scariest thing is that the damage stays long after you discontinue. Please stay away from this poison. Never again am I using Nasonex or Flonase. I don’t trust doctors even more after this, they are either ignorant or have a special interest to sell that poison. If I were in US I would file a lawsuit against the manufacturers. | M | 40 | 6 days 2 3X day | 12/7/2023 | 1 | Support | Support Group | Support Group for Flonase........ https://discord.gg/rTJ9Dn7fCp ......Copy / paste link in browser. Lots of information and people like yourself to talk with. | M | 62 | 1X day | 11/24/2023 | 1 | Sinus Infection | Massive panic attacks, derealization, depersonalizaional, suicidal thoughts, chest tightness, crying, throat tightness, horrible anxiety | DO NOT TAKE THIS PRODUCT!! I am slowly getting better, but still not 100%. My reaction started the end of March 2023. I believe a class-action lawsuit should be started!!!! | F | 51 | 21 days 2 times da 2X day | 11/8/2023 | 1 | Post Nasal Drip | Anxiety, Depression, Extreme Derealization, Sad moods, Crying, Exacerbation of OCD, Dread, Constant Fears, Anhedonia, Ruminating about past negative events, irrational thinking, trouble sleeping for a full nights rest, frequent urination, joint/muscle pains, fatigue, issues with memory recall of the past couple days, hypomania | I was prescribed by my doctor fluticasone propionate (Flonase) back in December 8th 2023. I would say it would help clear my sinuses from mucus/ post nasal drip. I would take it when needed, not all the time. It was usually a couple times a month from Dec. 8 2023 to November 6 2023. I think I can attribute what I have been feeling to this. I guess it only affected me in a subtle way since I did not completely notice my anxiety at first. I would randomly go through light anxiety and low moods. I remember in the spring I woke up in the middle of the night with a panic attack for no apparent reason. I then felt low for some weeks or so but nothing extreme. Fast forward to September. I started to feel worse. Extreme dread and depression, panic, and just pure hell. It might have been a withdrawal since I started to take it less and less. I noticed I would start to feel a bit alright, but would take it again and then would feel worse. I thought it was my own mental issues or something. I took it two nights in a row Saturday and Sunday. I feel worse now, I haven't cried miraculously in some weeks but yesterday afternoon I was having racing negative thoughts and bawled my eyes out. I woke up today not feeling much anxiety, but just extremely down and depressed. I really hope this is the issue. I feel like it is since it can mess with adrenal glands. I just feel off all over rather than just anxiety and depression. I might get back on a SSRI, but not sure as I feel like I can tough i | M | 24 | 11 months 50 MCG 1X AN | 11/6/2023 | 1 | Stuffy Nose | I started taking flonase, two squirts in the morning, daily, for 8 days. Had a panic attack at work the next day. Extreme anxiety, insomnia, tingly feeling in arms and neck, suicidal ideation, loss of appetite, loss of smell, loss of libido, and depression. I was 38, happy, active, and healthy and this has turned my life upside down. I could hardly work and had to ask my HR for workplace accommodations. Google "Steroid Induced Psychosis" and "HPA axis" to learn more about this rare reaction. DO NOT TAKE Prednisone or other steroids if you had this happen. There is a great discord link below for people who need a support group to talk to that has been super helpful in my recovery of now 6 weeks. https://discord.gg/rTJ9Dn7fCp | M | 38 | 8 days 1X day | 10/18/2023 | 1 | Sinusitis | Dizziness, shortness of breath, extreme panic attacks and difficultly sleeping | It’s been three weeks since I stopped taking Flonase and I’m still suffering. I had to be put on a leave of absence and I’m not able to drive. Please if you’re reading this review do not use this terrible nasal spray. It makes you feel like you’re dying. | F | 51 | 5 days 50mg 2X day | 10/17/2023 | 1 | Allergies | After the second dose I was very depressed, sad and withdrawn. I was very tired. After the third dose I woke early in the morning having depression and a panic attack, for almost 3 hours. I was having serious suicidal thoughts. I was crying uncontrollably. My depression, sadness and hopelessness have continued all day. This happened today. I had three bouts of suicidal ideation. I am glad I found this post. My doctor doubts my connection of Flonase to this sudden depression/anxiety/panic and I do believe dissociation. | F | 50 | 3 days 2X day | 9/27/2023 |
