5  Bipolar 2 some shaking and severe anxiety which had to be addressed This was a game changer for me. On 40 mg it made me very anxious but help really well with the depression. I was put on lexapro for the anxiety because it has a sedating affect on me and it worked. We played with both doses for a while and settled on 40mg latuda and 10 lexapro and that was the secret sause for me, I wouldnt change anything. M 54 6 years

1  Bipolar Emotional numbness, total lack of motivation to take take care of myself or the house, cook, or go anywhere. I barely spoke, lost my creativity and emotional connection to music. I had trouble thinking and remembering. I've been off for over a year and am slowly getting better but I lost years of my life and my personality. I'm not suicidal but I'm not sure it's worth it.  1  Bipolar Doctor tapered me too fast off Latuda and now I have all kinds of issues. New symptoms include grinding of teeth, jaw clenching, cracking jaw, flu like symptoms, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, muscle twitches and spasms, itching, headaches/migraines, diarrhea, irritability, fatigue, chills/sweats, brain fog, and more. My symptoms of Akathisia and Insomnia are unbearable now after being tapered from 80mg (was at 120mg for awhile!) down by 20mg each month. Was told to stop at 20mg. 7 months later I'm still experiencing withdrawal. F 40 5 years

4  Bipolar Depression Haven't had ANY side effects until now. It makes me throw up if I don't take it with a large meal, which they warn you about. Now I cannot sleep because my head will not stop moving when I try to lay down to sleep. It's the most bizarre thing. The worst part is that this may not quit, even if I stop taking the Latuda. This drug literally has been a lifesaver. I attempted suicide two weeks before being prescribed Latuda. This drug saved my family and my marriage. We were on the brink of falling apart, and now my family and my marriage could not be healthier. The mere thought of stopping this drug has my husband terrified. He cannot accept the mere thought of the "old me" returning if I stop taking this drug. I do fine if I miss two days of taking Latuda. On day three, outbursts begin to develop. F 49 4 years

5  BiPolar Disorder I have trouble getting going in the morning. It's almost noon before I feel awake. It's made a huge difference in my life. The suicidal thinking is gone; when the mood swings hit they are brief and stoppable. I wish I felt more awake, but I'm alive and functioning at a fairly high level. F 58 3 years

5  Bipolar Depression I am not able to be in areas that temps seem to be above 76F for prolonged times. I loose breath if I take a hot shower, if it’s hot outside, I tend to stay inside. No other side effects ever experienced. This medication has saved me from my manic depression issues whereas I would stay in bed for a week and a half, not even worrying if I showered. No weight gain and have a sexual drive. I started at 40MG and over 2 years, increased to 160MG. M 35 2 years

3  psychosis I'm currently taking this medication for over 2 years for treating my psychosis episode i had two years ago. I would have to say it absolutely made me lose weight significantly (around 20 pounds) because if I didn't have a full stomach or meal properly digested, I would vomit it all out instantly. I did have slight dizziness if I took it with my other medications and there were times I would wake up confused or a headache. Other than that, it helped with my psychosis and enables me to fall asleep (which I so desperately need on a regular basis being a full time student and working full time). I would suggest taking this with meals (350 calories or more) and fully digested before taking this medication to prevent nausea and vomiting F 19 2 years

2  Bipolar depression, anxiety Sometimes if I didn't eat the right amount or at the right time I would vomit everything in my stomach. Gained appoximateappoximately 20 lbs. Had very little interest in sex,my hobbies, going to work, just felt like a zombie. After two years I developed uncontrollable muscle spasm/contractions in my neck and face. I have been off of Laguna for nearly six months now, and this side effect has not gone away. This is effect described in medication guide and it's says "this may become permanent". Just a warning...if you take this med this is a real thing that can happen to you too. While on this medication my mood was disturbingly stable. F 32 2 years

1  Anxiety, depression About a month ago I started having tmj-like symptoms. Jaw moving to one side, pain, feeling like jaw was going to break an hour or two after taking the medication. It started only happening a couple times a week then started happening everyday. My jaw would be so out of place and so painful I couldn't talk or eat. I had two doctors tell me it was tmj and I needed to see a dentist. Well, I stopped the Latuda cold turkey for 5 nights now and I haven't had any trouble with my jaw. My psych doc wanted me to wean, but after a couple night of not taking it with no jaw symptoms I was too scared to take it again. I'm feeling great without it. I will never take Latuda again after this. The scary thing about tardive dyskinesia, lock jaw, uncontrollable movement in face is that even after you stop the drug it can still continue and become permanent. I would recommend Latuda to anyone after my experience! F 28 2 years

5  Bipolar I I've been through the mill, and this is the best drug I've come across to meet my mood stability, sleep, weight, and mental clarity needs. At the beginning, there was some definite "jelly legs," but that was one year ago and it went away. I have not been this mentally lucid since my original diagnosis 10 years ago. This drug allowed me to get about 7 hours of sleep/night and my cholesterol went from 252 to 193 in just 7 1/2 weeks. This drug's effectiveness has allowed me to work a full-time job for the first time in a decade!!! My psychiatrist, therapist, family, and friends have ALL noticed this. All I can say is that it worked for me. I don't know about how it'll work for other people. FYI, I was usually on the more hypomanic side of things. I would go to the hospital for rapid cycling. Major depression, then mania. When I was on Geodon, I literally gagged or vomited daily. I slept 10-11 hours/day and thought that was supposed to be normal. It took me changing doctors to find this drug. It had only been on the market for a few months, but I decided, "Well, why not? Geodon's killing me financially and I'm tired of the vomiting and sleep problems." My old MD actually told me that she thought my Master's degree might "come to nothing" and that I might have to "be on Social Security Disability." I have been told by an even older MD that I "cannot have a baby." An MD before that said that I had to make a choice between being fat and stable and thin and unstable. What? Guess what? They were all wrong! My current MD said, "Are you kidding? Of course you can have a baby! All I'd do would be to put you off the clonazepam. When you first came in here, F 33 1 years

5  Major depression Mild restlessness, mild anxiety Read the insert, Do not take CARDIZEM ( Diltiazam) with it. THEY WARN YOU ABOUT IT I was prescribed Latuda and noticed positive results almost immediately. I had much more energy and could think more clearly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this drug! Taking a lot less other psych meds. CHECK OUT YOUR PSYCHIATRIST My "Psychpharmacologist". Had me on 9 psch meds and 4supplements at the same time. I cold barely walk and talk. After having TD so bad I had entire body spasms and could not sleep. I researched the interaction between Latuda and Diltiazam and I IMMEDITELY went back to this quack and and told him about it, and All he did was reduce the Latuda from 80mg to 40mg, added 2 drugs and 3 supplements Two days later I was in the hospital with cardiac arrhythmia. I called him and asked if any of these meds would cause this heart condition, less than his RECEPTIONIST came back and said no. While I has hospitalized THEY TOOK ME OFF THE DILTIAZAM and the TD DISAPPEARED BY 99% I took AP's for 35 yrs When I came home Ilooked all the interactions of all meds I take. Most of the psych meds he had prescribed psych meds can cause arrythmias! The only psych meds I take now are LATUDA! Lamictal and Nuvigil. No recurrence of symptoms, no more arrythmia. Drastic improvement in all areas. I have been able to think to the level I used to ( I have an IQ of 142). I have so much more energy that I have been able to clean my house, enjoy hobbiesand talk. I am confident that I will continue to have positive results with Latuda F 65 1 years
