| 1 | Acid reflux | I only took this 2 days the first day i attributed my foggy head to the new anti depressant i was put on at same time as the omeprazole. But i take the antidepressent at night and prilosec in morning.yesterday i was so weak and light headed a rash from bottom of my face to my chest. A friend researched a little and we figured out it was the prilosec so today im not taking it just to make sure. I rarely get sick but yesterday i was miserable.i recommend anyone do a little research before starting this drug if i had i would not have started it. I can't seem to find any acid reflux med's that help but have NO terrible side effects. This is the "least bad", but it's still bad, so I don't take it as much as I should. I take as needed, on and off. My Doctor instructed me to take this for 2 weeks and then I probably will never have to take it again. This is what he said. He said that Prilosec allows your stomach to heal. So I have a few of the side effects.....but my side effects make me feel kind of out of it. | This is day 3 for me......and I don't know what to do. I have read many of the horror stories here....and my side effects are mild compared to some......but I have them. Be careful, and monitor yourself. Burning sensation in legs, thighs, calves, shins. | After just 3 days on omeprezole (twice a day), I noticed the feeling of inflammation in my legs when lying down to sleep. First I'd feel it in my left hamstring, then right shin, then ankle. It was a dull, burning sensation. Doctor said it was a rare side effect, and he switched me to zantac. The burning legs sensation went away that first night. Recently my heartburn has been flaring up, so I decided to give Prilosec a try. This is the 3rd day on it and I am going to quit - it makes me feel just as weird as when I was on Nexium, if not worse. For the past 2 nights I have been waking up at 3 or 4 am with a spinning dizzy feeling, extreme thirst, and overall "stoned" feeling. I don't like it at all. I wonder why I am feeling drowsy when it's just supposed to inhibit acid. Took Prilosec and within 2 days entire system "backed up" - meals felt like they sat in my stomach, bloated pain throughout. I will probably focus on diet (no coffee, chocolate or alcohol). | Zantac works well for me, but it too has strange side effects: hair loss and strange weight gain (chest and legs).
