| 1 | Heartburn | Paranoia,Panic,Anxiety, irrational thoughts | This drug was a poison to me. It has caused me to have uncontrollable anxiety and panic attacks. I have been in and out of ERs dealing with this for 2 months. I never had any anxiety or panic prior to taking this drug. An osteopathic doctor has prescribed me gabapentin (Neurontin) and this is the first relief I have had from these horrible symptoms. There is something wrong with this drug! Look what it has done to over 1500 of us and yet doctors continue to dismiss the connection of this drug to the anxiety and panic most of us are experiencing!!! | F | 45 | 3 days 20 MG | 9/14/2019 | 1 | Gerd, gastritis | UPDATE: its been two months since I stop taking this drug. It worked for one week and i started having BURNING sensations all over my body. I posted on 5/31/20. I had anxiety, indigestion and constant burning. Took another endoscopy and the result came back normal so my doctor told me to stop taking the PPI daily and switch to as needed. He suggested it could be the reason for the BURNINg. 2 months since i stopped and the anxiety, indigestion is gone completely. So now i am having panic attacks again all of a sudden, first time in about 3 years and dizziness, headaches, weird shoulder twitchy thing, being woken up from a deep sleep startled and a tad disoriented, racing heart from anxiety, chest burn when i have never had chest burn ... i dunno, just lots of weird scary stuff that I NOW know is this medication because i have experienced all this before but it was 3 years ago and i never put two and two together until my husband said last night " you were sick like this a few years ago" Last time i took Prilosec i was on it a while something like 6 months if i remember correctly, this time its only been 3 days and i feel like a broken person. Obviously im not going to take anymore but will have to have a hard think about what to take instead. After my Zantac ran out i was ok for about 5 days then my symptoms came back....i have the issue where bread and fries and dryish foods get stuck in my food pipe and cause immense pain when trying to eat a meal. Heartburn and indigestion so bad sometimes its like a heart attack Was prescribed Xanax 3 years ago too! Coincidence? Ended up in the ER where they couldn't find anything wrong with me other than that my liver levels were high (which I later found out can be a side effect of Prilosec). I've been off it for only three days and it's been awful. Feels like I'm dying. Panic attacks. Anxiety. Literally cannot sleep. Can't digest my food and as a result have to eat every two to three hours or I have horrible crashes. Nerve pain. Burning sensations. | Do not take this drug. I have never had anything like this happen to me before. It is hell. I'm hoping in time I will be able to correct the imbalances it has caused in my nutrition and I will feel better. I know now I needed more stomach acid, not less. Never have any acid reflux symptons and I eat fairly well. (I understand it can be "silent") even just after a few days I don't like how I feel and glad I came across this site. Following up with an ent doctor in a few days. I am back to feeling miserable, but without the pain. This side effect might have to do with my continued coffee intake and then today milk, ugh! So, I think the diet might have to change if this drug will give you the results you want. I am concerned about the other side effects many have said they have, too. I think if I don't get some relief overnight from this bloating I will not be taking this tomorrow morning. I will just play it by ear for now. I have not had "hunger" pains that were from the acid and not actual hunger, which helps me to lose some weight, but the bloating is seriously not worth it, which is what I was already having! Along with concern about the future side effects, which are scary, I will probably go off it and maybe just take as needed. My diet needs to change, too. A dermatologist in Atlanta gave me a shot in scalp and prescribed Clobetasol Propionate Topical solution 50ML USP / 0.05%. It grew back my hair when I was stressed. I don't know about side effects, but it sure grows hair back.
