| 5 | acid reflux | With Prilosec, subject to "runner's diarrhea" (I am a triathlete) and severe diarrhea during menstruation. | I have been out of Prilosec for almost two weeks, and now notice I am constipated, lethargic, and acid reflux returned with a vengeance! Love the stuff for acid reflux, getting much more today (thought I would try to wean off); side effects not as bad as the reflux. Actually, after 4 years, guessing my body adapted to the diarrhea. Feeling lethargic and "heavy" now without it. My dr. recommended prilosec otc for what she suspects is acid reflux because i have uncontrollable gagging first thing every morning when i brush my teeth. I've only been on it for TWO DAYS and I dont know whats worse; putting up with the gagging for 10 minutes in the morning OR the side effects of prilosec all day long.
