After 3 months starting having all these side effects and thought something was really wrong. Fortunately, Stumbled on this site a week ago and got off of these pills. Still having several side effects. Any advice to help get these over quicker would be great. Then began the horrible abdominal pain . I was in tears one night thinking I had perforated a bowel, almost called 911. I ended up in ER twice , had blood, CT work done and nothing found . I then put two and two together and stopped the Prilosec after 30 days on it . I’m dAy four now without this horrible drug, although the abdominal pain subsided , I have had severe panic attacks , constant worry, anxiety , belching , heavy head feeling and my resting heart rate is 99-110. I’m so afraid for my life . I have hopelessness and feel constant fatigue . Feel terrible! Tremors are bad , stomach pain bad . Dr is running several tests but I think it is from Tsing the omeprazole . The first time about 4 weeks into it I began with palpitations (frequent pvcs) anxiety faster resting heartrate. Also developed chest pain at one point bringing me to the ED. I stopped taking it but my doctor was hesitant to believe that was the cause of my symptoms and thought anxiety was my issue. Within 1 week of stopping my symptoms were gone. I restarted the drug about 2 weeks later as my throat cleaing symptoms returned and with in 1 week my palpitations had returned. I stopped the omeprazole again immediately and within 1 week again all palpitations were gone. They have not come back since stopping. It has caused me to have uncontrollable anxiety and panic attacks. I have been in and out of ERs dealing with this for 2 months. I never had any anxiety or panic prior to taking this drug. An osteopathic doctor has prescribed me gabapentin (Neurontin) and this is the first relief I have had from these horrible symptoms. There is something wrong with this drug! The tingling/pins and needles in my arms went away and lasted in my legs for about a week, however, now I’m left with constant burning sensations in my legs and feet. It is worse when I lay down before going to bed and is still there when I wake up in the morning. My muscles also feel so weak. Things I used to be able to do with no problem make me feel tired. Like walking up the stairs makes my legs feel weak. I can’t believe an over the counter drug can cause such horrible symptoms. Doctors say it’s my anxiety but I never experienced anxiety like this before taking Prilosec. It has ruined my life and been the worst month of doctor appointments and ER visits. I have lost hope of this burning feeling going away. Panic attacks were extreme the first week stopping Prilosec. I would wake up in the middle of the night hyperventilating and crying. 2nd week panic attacks are gone and anxiety calmed down. 3rd week I thought anxiety was gone but I feel anxious when I wake up and after I eat. So weird. Will the anxiety ever go away? If you have experienced tingling and burning sensations in your legs after taking this Prilosec email me.
