RATING | REASON | SIDE EFFECTS FOR NASACORT | COMMENTS | SEX | AGE | DURATION/ DOSAGE | DATE ADDED |
1 | nasal allergy | within hours, extreme weakness, tiredness, nausea, headache. beginning to ease after6 days, but still no appetite | I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy. | M | 78 | 1 days 220mcg 1X day | 3/18/2014 | 1 | Swollen sinuses | After a few days, I was afflicted w/ a dreadful sinus infection which lasted for weeks, the syptoms of which are much more severe than those which were supposedly being treated. | Seemed to help @ first. | M | 76 | 5 days 2X day | 9/29/2014 | 2 | Swollen sinuses | First two days, I felt O.K. and noticed very little watering of my eyes and drainage into my throat; however, after those two days, I felt cloudiness in my thinking and low in spirit. When I stopped using Nasacort, I felt like my normal self again. | I believe Nasacort helps with the allergies, but for some people, there are side effects. | F | 74 | 1 weeks | 6/10/2009 | 5 | Rhinitis and stuffiness | None | It has been a miracle drug for me. No side effects and significant curtailment of running, dripping nose (about 90% effective when used with Benedryl and Claritin); also, significant improvement in stuffiness at night. | M | 73 | 10 years | 4/16/2009 | 2 | Chronic nasal congestion | Minor anxiety, serious inhibition of wound healing. | It did relieve nasal congestion somewhat, but after 10 days I noticed that some minor cuts on my leg were not healing. After reading that wound healing inhibition is a possible side effect of Nasacort, I stopped using it and the cuts began healing normally. | M | 71 | 10 days 30 mg 1X day | 7/18/2015 | 2 | Seasonal allergies | Terrible anxiety, shortness of breath. | I usually take Claritin, but wanted to try something different. Picked up Nasacort, stopped after one day due to the anxiety associated with it. | F | 71 | 1 days 55 mcg 1X day | 3/31/2023 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Within fifteen minutes of using product, experienced anxiety, shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. Several hours later, the symptoms have subsided but not completely. | After experiencing symptoms, I immediately research side of effects of Nasacort and found that my symptoms were common. I would rather deal with seasonable allergies than to use Nasacort. | F | 71 | 1 days 1X day | 11/10/2020 | 1 | Nasal congestion | Extreme upper back pain | Not only didn't it begin to clear up my congestion, it landed me in the emergency room with extreme upper back pain. | M | 71 | 3 days 30 mg 1X day | 6/9/2015 | 1 | sinus infection | Sample from Dr, used it once. Throat, or larynx, closed down so I had great difficulty breathing. Thought I would have to call 911 but I did survive. | It cleared up my sinus. | M | 70 | 1 days one sniff 1X day | 11/15/2010 | 1 | Allergic Rhinitis | Extreme anxiety, elevated blood pressure, daily headache, tinnitus spike and thrush. | Beware of this OTC nasal spray. Side effects are AWFUL and rather frightening. | F | 70 | 30 days 110mcg | 12/27/2017 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | I have bronchaiectasis, along with seasonal allergies. Nasacort was prescribed; it did more damage to my lungs, caused severe nosebleed and I ended up with infection which would not clear up and after two months, I was diagnosed with leukemia, with white cell count of 224,000. Nasacort may or may not have caused my problem but I strongly reccomend that anyone with bronchaiectasis not use it. | F | 70 | 2 weeks | 7/17/2004 | 1 | non allergic chronic sinusitus | Headaches, insomnia, dizzy, no appetite , coughing ,anxiety, brain fog and felt sick to stomach | NEVER take this drugs. It cleared up my nose but side effects are awful. Been off 3 days and still dealing with them | F | 70 | 14 days 2X day | 8/16/2020 | 4 | pollen allergies year-round | No side effects. This drug works. I used to get shots, but they're not available where I live. Panic attacks? Sounds pretty wild. | F | 69 | 15 years 30 1X day | 5/25/2017 | 4 | Allergies | I noticed that I was hungry more than usual, some weight gain. Also hair was shedding more than usual. And also arms and legs were itchy and burning. I am a RN and checked every other med I take and finally stopped using nazacort and all these symptoms went away. All I can say the steroids got in my system and caused these problems.I feel bad because nazacort worked as far as my allergies go,but can't deal with the side affects | F | 69 | 6 months 30 mg | 6/5/2016 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Light headed, extreme fatigue, feeling unwell | As soon as I stopped taking this my symptoms disappeared .I was told by my dr. That I could use as often as was required. | M | 69 | 1 years 2X day | 12/1/2019 | 5 | Virus that left me with ear congest | Worked well at first, but didn't sleep as well. My doctor had me take 2 sprays each nostril twice a day. Really helped with nasal and ear congestion that resulted from a virus. After 3 weeks, started having nausea and stomach irritation. Today I only took 1 spray in each nostril, because I have to wean off gradually. Also, I had tooth pain . | It helped with ear and nasal congestion as a result of a virus. After 3 weeks, I was better , but it had really irritated my stomach. I would recommend trying it, but iam very sensitive to medicines, so I wouldn't be able to use it again. | F | 68 | 30 days 2sprays 2x 2X day | 8/31/2023 | 3 | Seasonal allergies | I started having severe nosebleeds the second year of taking Nasacort. I cut back to 110 mcg per day and then quit taking it altogether but am still having nosebleeds. I will probably consult a physician if I continue to have nosebleeds. | M | 68 | 2 years 220 mcg 1X day | 7/10/2015 | 2 | chronic stuffy nose at night | oral thrush, fatigue, weakness | It worked great on my nose but is not worth the side effects. I was ok with it now and then until I started using it regularly. I may try it again if I have a bad cold but I'll put up with the stuffy nose instead of these side effects. | F | 68 | 3 years 30 mg 1X day | 11/9/2014 | 1 | Allergies | Burns when sprayed in nostrils, makes me dizzy and causes anxiety and feel buzzy. I think it's elevating my blood pressure readings. Will stop taking it immediately and go back to using Flonase. | F | 68 | 7 days | 6/21/2020 | 2 | Seasonal allergies/stuffy nose | Headache, stiff neck, muscle weakness (calves and hamstrings), very stiff back, anxiety, depression, brain fog. | Initially Nasacort was exceptional --- none of the psychotic effects of Flonase and Nasonex and relieved allergy symptoms. That lulled me to sleep. For the last six months I have had the symptoms noted with increasing regularity. I have missed two doses and the symptoms have begun to subside. My recommendation would be to watch symptoms carefully and limit usage to short term. | M | 67 | 6 months 2X day | 10/26/2014 |
NASACORT (TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE): This medication is used in a variety of conditions such as allergic disorders, arthritis, blood diseases, breathing problems, certain cancers, eye diseases, intestinal disorders, collagen and skin diseases. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of triamcinolone, especially if it is to be injected near your spine (epidural). Rare but serious side effects may occur with epidural use. Triamcinolone acetonide is known as a corticosteroid hormone (glucocorticoid). It works by decreasing your body's immune response to these diseases and reduces symptoms such as swelling.
