| 1 | High blood pressure | Dry cough | I wonder if this drug could be the cause of my legs feeling heavy? And just plain feeling bad. My kidneys haven't been functioning very good. I wonder if this stuff has damaged my kidneys for good? Just fould out that it caused my wife to have high potassium levels. Doctor switched to Benicar, but coughing didn't stop and BP went back up. Also tried other ACE inhibitors with same results. Lack of sleep due to constantly waking up coughing. | Controls blood pressure extremly well, but the coughing negates it's benefits. Doc switched me to Benicar (another ACE) which is not supposed to cause the coughing but, guess what? Yup ------ I'm actually coughing worse. ZESTRIL (LISINOPRIL): Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It is also used to treat heart failure and to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs known as ACE inhibitors.
