5  UTI I wanted to come on here and leave a review because I read all of the reviews before taking this prescription and was scared to death to take them. Just a reminder, most people only write a review when they experience something negative. Very rarely do you get someone to let you know their positives. That's with everything, meds, restaurants, shopping locations, etc. I am a person who does not take medication for much of anything because I am scared of side effects, even down to Tylenol or cold meds. I took cipro, I did get a cold the very next day. Nose stopped up and that whole deal with that. I'm not sure that it had anything to do with taking the antibiotics, could be because I've read that your immune system weakens due to the good and bad bacteria being cleared out. And I had occasional nausea but that could have been because of the mucus build up with the cold. I know everyone is different and your body reacts differently but I can tell you that I am EXTREMELY paranoid about taking medicine and I did just fine. F 30 5 days

5  UTI Some achy muscles, drowsiness, some anxiety I was absolutely terrified to try CIPRO after reading all of these reviews. So much so that I called my primary physician to make sure she thought I should (I was prescribed this by a walk in clinic after my second UTI in two months), and also asked several of my family members and friends if they had taken it. I finally decided to take it after realizing that virtually every antibiotic I had been given for UTIs in the past had equally as terrifying reviews and those were processed fine by my body. I felt some lethargy, muscle aches, and some mind anxiety/depression over the three days I took Cipro. However, these symptoms could have all been do to PMS and caffeine withdrawal as well. None of them were severe in the slightest. I would say the most inconvenient part of this process was not being able to the ibuprofen for a slight headache I had that wouldn't go away (again, likely due to a lack of caffeine intake). Overall, I didn't have any symptoms that have scared me away from this antibiotic. I will probably avoid caffeine for a bit longer, but that is honestly only because coffee tends to give me a bit of anxiety in general and I don't want to risk making that worse. F 27 3 days

5  Recurring UTI's NONE, NEVER.......every since my my hysterectomy in 1999 I have had many UTI Infections, if I catch it soon enough, I only need 3 days, sometimes longer. Like all drugs, many get a bad rap. Myself, who is intolerant to almost everything on the market, I am astonished this supposed evil drug works so well for me. F 71 7 days

5  diarrhea A lot of gas. Some trouble sleeping.in the first few days Did not feel 100% most of the time I became infected during a trip to a South American country. On return I waited two weeks hoping that it would clear up on its own. (The usual "Monetzuma's Revenge" lasts about four days, so this was something more) The Ciprofloxacin did work over about 7 - 8 days. The cure was not immediate. I am tempted to give it a '4' due to the side effects, but I give a '5' because it did work. It's good that we have treatments like this M 79 10 days

5  UTI no side effects It is my preferred medication for UTI, which, thankfully, I don't get often, maybe 1 every year or two. I would not want to take a higher dose now that I'm older, but I have found 250mg to be tolerable. It clears the infection for me with no side effects. F 65 3 days

5  UTI More Energy+ :) Evening Headaches- :( Just took my last pill of my round. I have felt so good (mentally) lately, that I was wondering if it was due to this medicine. Upon "Google-ing" Does Cipro give you energy? I found this site. I never NEVER take any medications or prescription drugs, (except for phenteramine for weight loss.) I have always been scared that if I take antibiotics too much, they would lose their effectiveness and when the time came that I really needed it, it wouldn't work. So our family rides out their sicknesses naturally. However, when there is severe pain involved or threat to internal organs...I didn't want to take a chance. It began working within 4 hours, I noticed relief. Day 2 I noticed strange feeling of well being, improved outlook in general. I had a "skinny day". If you're a woman you know these are the days you think "hey, am I loosing some weight, I feel thinner" Day 3 another skinny day, hence more good outlook Day 4 same day 5 same. Now that its over, I'm worried my frumpy days will return and my outlook will change. so I was just wondering if it was due to the Cipro. There're are WAY TO MANY comments on this med site to read them all and find my answer. Maybe it's just the combination of the Phenteramine with the Cipro that caused this. Who knows, even so I certainly wouldn't continue taking it for that reason. I'd be safer joining a gym! I really felt great other than the night time headaches. Which by the way Goodies F 45 5 days

5  Abscess tooth I feel tired. Not sure if it's the Cipro, or the stress of the tooth abscess pain finally gone. I've always done well with Cipro. From prior comments, I see we all react differently to this drug. I'm taking this drug for 7 days. I could not get the days prescribed to register here. F 60 1 days

5  Submandibular Gland Infection Slight increase in thirst. I have a hard time taking most antibiotics due to allergies. I was afraid to take Cipro because I am allergic to Levaquin. The only thing I noticed was increased thirst, but that may have been due to the salivary gland infection. I'm glad I tried it, it worked well. I see so many negative posts, I wanted to let people know the good too. F 54 7 days

5   I have used this time and again with great results. 500 mg 2x a day for 3 days. 150 mg 2x a day for 10 days. No side effects, just quick clearing of the nasty symptoms of a UTI. Btw...I am not Big Pharma. I am a mom and work part time. Seems like so many are dissatisfied. I thought I would express my experience with it, since it was positive. F 43 3 days
