After each form of treatment my PSA dropped to .00, then gradually rose to 3.0 to 4.0. Now I have a Lupron shot whenever the PSA reaches that level. After a Lupron shot the PSA always drops back to .00, however the time it takes to again reach 3.0 to 4.0 is becoming less and less. Now it reaches that point in just 6 to 8 months. Lupron has worked well for me. I'm still alive! I love going to my doctors, I make it fun, humorous and usually take my ventriloquist figure(s) with me and sometimes a whoopee cushion. Make a doctor laugh, he'll appreciate you much more and you'll inspire them to not fear contracting the illnesses that they dedicate their lives to treat for your comfort. | Life is a "crap shoot". (She was cocaine exposed in-utero, which we believe is the primary cause of the precocious puberty.) Her dosage has increased 3 times over the 2 years. Her developing breasts disappeared, her extreme mood swings are dramatically reduced, PMS symptoms gone, migraines gone, she's gained 5 inches in height, and her bone age is now nearly her real age (not 50% older). On the other end of the spectrum, I'm just finishing menopause (no Lupron) a little younger than the average woman, and am experiencing much of the symptoms many women who hate the Lupron are experiencing. LUPRON (LEUPROLIDE ACETATE): Leuprolide is used to stop early puberty (precocious puberty) in children. It helps to delay sexual development (such as growth of the breasts/testicles) and the start of menstrual periods. It also helps slow down early bone growth to increase the likelihood of reaching normal adult height. Leuprolide works by decreasing the amount of sex hormones that a child's body makes (estrogen in girls, testosterone in boys).
