5 | insomnia | Dry mouth upon awakening | If you have occasional insomnia, this is a pretty great drug. I take a 30mg capsule. In about 30 minutes, I hit the sack. I don't feel "drugged" per se, but I sleep and I stay asleep. I never take more than 2 a week, so my usage is infrequent. As such, I have zero dependency issues. Highly recommended for occasional use as needed. | M | 35 | | 12/16/2006 | 4 | insonmia | feeling loopy in the moerning as if i did drugs ot dranks the preiviue nght. hadhit a mailbox and had a fendd bender. sI BE CAREFUL M THIS DRUD. Som loss of memory its like i kno what i want to say but cant GET IT OUT.... | i sleep all nihgt on this drug | F | 33 | 30mg 1X day | 7/30/2010 | 4 | couldnt get to sleep | sometimes memory loss while drug is active in body | M | 33 | | 6/19/2002 | 4 | Honestly, I can't say I've had any side effects. The drug does the job when I use it. | Over the past years I've taken it more often than others and I would suggest that I can build up a tolerance to it. As to it's being addictive, I don't find that. I do depend on it rather easily, but that's because I've always had a hard time getting to sleep. And that's what the drug has done for me. I can take one or a half a capsule, lay down and read and very soon I've gone to sleep....perfect. | M | 58 | | 2/10/2009 | 2 | | 8/20/2007 | 1 | insomnia | I have been prescribed Restoril for 7 years. My doctor prescribed it at a time in my life that i wasn't thinking straight. Now that i am thinking straight, it is too late. I now have to start the processing of beating this addiction. I have stopped cold turkey taking the restoril and i haven't slept since. I am on day four with little to no sleep. | Find another way to deal with your insomnia. This is a very addictive drug. When you try to stop taking the medication, you will not be able to sleep at all. | F | 48 | 15 mg 1X day | 6/11/2010 | 1 | insomnia | none | went to sleep at 1am and was up at 3 am with feeling that i didnt sleep and after i woke i could not sleep, this one isnt very good | M | 27 | | 12/28/2007 | 4 | Restless leg syndrome | None | After tolerating jerking legs and also some times other parts of the body for some six hours while in the hospital chest pain clinic I was given one dose of Restoril. It did allow me to sleep for about 4 hours and when I woke up I had no more problems with the RLS. I do wish it had helped me sleep longer than just 4 hours tho. | F | 61 | 1 times | 11/30/2003 | 1 | sleeplessness while hospitalized | I was gone, luney. Don't remember anything for 24 hours. I was in the ICU after some cardiac problems. This drug made me very agitated, spacey, tried pulling my IV out, ripping my blood pressure cuff off. By the time my Wife came in I looked like I was punch drunk. I also had a massive headache later that night. Just like a hangover. | This drug is dangerous and should be taken off the market. I'm thankful I was hospitalized at the time. I was put on an IV drip to flush the drug from my system faster. | M | 56 | 1 times | 9/22/2007 | 1 | to sleep during overseas flight | Rapid heart beat, cold sweat, vomiting | This occurred @ 30 minutes after taking this medication to help me sleep during a long overseas flight. I was in a cold sweat and my hair was dripping. Not a pleasant experience on an overseas flight. I will NEVER take this again! | F | 62 | 1 times 30 mg 1X day | 4/7/2012 | 2 | Insomnia | Hangover | This medication did nothing other than make me feel dizzy and | M | 29 | 4 times | 1/25/2005 | 2 | Insomnia | Hangover | This medication did nothing other than make me feel dizzy and | M | 29 | 4 times | 1/25/2005 | 1 | Insomnia | Made me light-headed. Basically I felt drunk, but I was unable to fall asleep. | M | 27 | 5 times | 1/21/2005 | 1 | Insomnia | None. | Restoril does not work for me. I cannot feel it taking effect (unlike Ambien CR, though that does not keep me asleep) and do not fall asleep or stay asleep when I take Restoril. I have better results with Tylenol PM and the same results taking nothing. | F | 29 | 12 times | 5/7/2007 | 3 | insomnia | No side effects. sometimes I get 4 to 5 hours of sleep. sometimes I get 6 hours. No matter what I still wake up at 3am. | M | 46 | 0 days 30mg 1X day | 1/30/2021 | 1 | Severe Insomnia | None; have not resumed taking this drug due to both its severely addictive properties and the complete lack of its being able to resolve my insomnia. I was prescribed 30 MG, and after only two weeks, the drug entirely lost its effectiveness--which is very common for all benzos. Stay away from this drug! | I would recommend in the strongest terms that anyone considering or being prescribed Restoril will decide not to take it or any other benzodiazepine, as it will cease to work in the long-term, you will have to take more of it, and then you will have to go through withdrawal from it, which is horrific. | F | 49 | 0 days 30 MG 1X day | 6/17/2014 Patient History | 4 | to sleep | I took 2 30 milligrams last night wonder how long it will take to get out of my system | Have a doctor appointment need to get this out of my blood stream | 47 | 1 days | 1/27/2015 | 4 | to go to sleep | F | 77 | 1 days | 1/28/2009 | 3 | Insomnia | M | 89 | 1 days 30 | 6/3/2014 | 2 | Cannot fall asleep for 5-6 hours | No side effects. But it just did not work. Took at 9 pm and am still trying to fall asleep and it's 11:50 pm now. It is like I took nothing at all. I never use any caffeine either. | Very frustrated right now, because last night I never fell asleep all night. Finally got a nap between 8-11 am today and that was it. I hoped this drug would help. I am exhausted! | F | 72 | 1 days 15 mg 1X day | 7/17/2020 |
RESTORIL (TEMAZEPAM): This medication is used to treat a certain sleep problem (insomnia). It may help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and lessen how often you wake up during the night, so you can get a better night's rest. Temazepam belongs to a class of drugs called sedative-hypnotics. It acts on your brain to produce a calming effect. Use of this medication is usually limited to short treatment periods of 1 to 2 weeks or less. If your insomnia continues for a longer time, talk to your doctor to see if you need other treatment.
